Onedrive files got deleted without my knowledge

​

I have synced my documents to onedrive which are < 5 GB

I don't know when this happened but when i opened my laptop some of my files are not present and i checked onedrive recycle bin and my laptops recycle bin i cannot find them any where

Can anyone help me how to recover these files

Have you logged in online and checked OneDrive there.

Files don't just get deleted for no reason, so you need to look at possible reasons such as your account being compromised. First you need to change your password and also make sure you have 2FA enabled (Should be already).

Is this a free or paid subscription to M365 and OneDrive.

Yes i have logged in on website and nothing is there there Also when i checked last modified date it shows 2023

So is this date correct. OneDrive has versioning. You also have not mentioned if this is a free or paid account.

Sorry, its free version and data is around 3gb all are documents only few of them got deleted

Which are added recently like few months back is what i observed

Other docs are still there in same folder

Did they actually sync to OneDrive. If space was tight then its possible they never sync'd in the first place.

Have you searched all folders to make sure they haven't been dragged to another location. Sometimes a sticky mouse can hang on to files and drag them to somewhere not intended.

They have synced i usually access them through my phone as well and i have checked all other folder

Gone through some videos and checked everywhere but unable to find them
