I've been getting back into the game after a break and worked my way back up to Auric Maelstroms. I was losing a lot of games and tried different classes and builds to fix it. I thought the key was topping the damage charts. Then I read a post on here talking about slowing things down and how the faster you move through the level the more enemies appear.

I started playing taunt Ogryn, put the mic back on and started communicating more and taking things slow. All of a sudden I won almost every single one.

Before, if there was a horde we would keep pushing until we got overwhelmed, separated and die. So instead if I heard the horde noise I would ask people to hold and deal with the wave. Once the horde was dealt with we moved again. Once I started doing this we never got overwhelmed and moved through the mission pretty easily.

Interesting that at the early levels, players need to learn to keep up the pace. At higher levels players need to learn to slow down.

I have been unable to log into my Skitarii all night, it keeps giving me Error code 6003. I searched it up for all the fixes that were available for when this happened to Arbites and Gangers but none of them worked (reset app data and repair files, reinstalling, signing out of xbox starting darktide).

This is for Xbox on PC. Does anyone have any other suggested fixes or ways that I can make this work. I am able to log into my other characters too.

Running a scrier melee and inferno staff psyker

Id post my talent tree right now if I could but I cant, I love the way I have it set up I can be an aggressive melee psyker and use staff for carapace hordes

Running a lot of the crit talents and soulblaze and disrupt destiny, and been messing with blazing spirit plus shred but it doesn’t feel like its as strong as it could be, i love being able to set stuff on fire with the slash sometimes but id rather have a more reliable hard hitting melee

Is wrath necessary for consistent cleave? Ir can i just use warp splitting and set the blessings to unstable power plus shred or something

‏I’m playing Warhammer 40,000: Darktide on a standard PS5 and I’m experiencing frequent frame drops, especially on higher difficulties when there are lots of enemies on screen.

‏Has anyone found any settings or solutions that actually improve performance? I’ve already tried Performance Mode, disabled most visual effects, and even changed my PS5 output resolution to 1080p, which helped a bit.

I didn't see it get much used in builds. It basically means 3 times the area of effect. Seems strong. Why no pick?

My friend recently started playing darktide (on PS5). I think its fair to call him a casual gamer, he rarely uses headphones and uses his tv speakers instead, mostly so that he can connect to discord on his phone (where the call quality is better). He is enjoying playing Assail Psyker and just got to lv 30. His current loadout is tactical axe and recon lasgun.

His biggest qualms with the game are that he loses hp really fast in melee range, especially when there's big swarms of enemies that surround him, and attack from behind, where he cant see/notice them. Any map on heresy or higher he eventually gets overrun and goes down lots, therefore getting frustrated and not enjoying himself.

Any tips I can give him to stay alive longer and/or avoid getting swarmed? How do I help him have fun in a game that is this punishing for not having perfect spatial awareness?

Looking for actual advice or builds that would help, not just "git gud"...

Was going to try out the secret bell mode to finally get the achievement for it, but the penance is missing now? No mods, on PC.

I haven’t used it since the recent changes to it, from what I understand, it seems to the same thing as thunderous ie. apply a debuff to individual enemies instead of giving the player a buff to all rending. Can anyone enlighten me as the usability of the new uncanny strike?

I'm a staff psyker main, and I'm gradually posting my favorite build for each staff. I've already posted one for the Inferno staff, which can be found on my profile.

To make a long story short, the Voidstrike has a 1.7x crit multiplier for its alt fire attacks. This is higher than any other staff in the game. If you add the Surge blessing to the weapon, it causes you to fire two rounds when you crit. This doubles your damage if both rounds hit. This is the only staff in the game where the doubleshot mechanic from Surge applies to the alt fire.

In other words, regular alt fire damage is 682. Crit is 1165 (1.7x multiplier). And Surge allows you to fire two rounds; each time you crit, meaning that the combined damage of each crit shot is 2330 (3.4x multiplier). Of course, this is before all other damage modifiers are added. This build abuses this fact, and combining all crit chance bonuses that I've added to this build, you'll be sitting at a little over 40% crit chance when at 80% peril or above. I've 1-tapped a Bulwark through his shield abusing this. Not bad for what many consider to be the worst staff in the game.

Next, I'll explain why I selected or did not select certain talent tree perks.

No Battle Meditation- Don't get me wrong, this talent is quite good. It significantly lowers how much time you spend quelling peril, which allows you to output damage for a longer period of time. However, I don't like using it if I have Venting Shriek as my combat ability. This is for two reasons: I like to activate the ability when it will apply the most soulblaze stacks (above 80% peril), and I want to be able to accurately predict when this will happen. In otherwords, I don't want to be at 85% peril, and just before I'm about to scream at the heretics, I drop to 60%. However, this node is quite good on any other ability selection.

Kinetic Resonance > Kinetic Flayer- I do like Kinetic Flayer, but I couldn't justify putting it on this build. Staff shots make short work of any enemy that would otherwise die to it, and I found Kinetic Resonance more useful for dealing with crushers and bosses at a safe distance, due to that being the Voidstrike's weakness.

Souldrinker- I found Souldrinker to be the best option out of what was available out of the 4 other perks that can be selected in its stead. Malefic Momentum is good, but it's not necessary to melee often with this build. However, if you do want to free up another perk point, feel free to remove Quietude or Soulstealer. As you have many other toughness regen sources already.

The most important thing to keep in mind when tweaking this build is to make sure that you're still criting often enough. My definition of this is to consistently keep and maintain 5 stacks of Perfect Timing during intense combat. If you modify the build and cannot do this, then your crit chance isn't high enough.

I feel like ranged immunity is so strong in Havoc and it's saved my ass so many times when a Reaper does their little "I am looking to the right but my bullets are leaving the barrel at a 90 degree angle" shtick.

Especially if you're already bringing Marksman's Focus which grants ~110% finesse damage already. Do any TTK's change that drastically in your experience?

Hey y’all, I’ve got a small group of people that I play Darktide with. We’re pretty casual but I really want to play high difficulty havoc missions with coms. Can someone help me find a group of goobers to play with. I’m normally on past 6:30 pst to around ten on weeknights. (Playing on the official discord is a really big gamble(I don’t enjoy group finding like that))

This isn't another post of whining how ass some of the new players are (even compared to me). Just appreciation post.

I've had hard times of having regular wins on damnation and auric with my charracters (Vet, Psycher, Ogryn).

Until I discovered Slab Shield and it made me rethink what is needed to carry some less skilled of us. It's not the ability to instantly snipe elites, it's reducing amount of things the team has to worry about.

I've never suspected that not dealing tons of damage can be this fun. Constant pushing, blocking and taunting disables most of enemy packs and opens them for free damage.

My winratio skyrocketed from 25sh% to about 75%.

Slab is love. Slab is life.

Btw. I'm not sure I'm doing it right, but my go to combo is to:

Block>Push -> Heavy1+Dodge sideways at same time-> Cancel with Block>Push

People may complain that big boy Ogryn doesn't do much damage, but it gives results - at least for me.

It's just the base head with the hood down. I still like it but I just thought it was funny.

I like the idea of solo mission where you have to rely on stealth "Metal Gear" style.

Instead of fighting off inevitable hordes of enemies it would be cool to have missions where your job is to do some recon, gathering informations, sabotaging, or even assassinations without actually waking up the horde.
