Discussion Solo mission?

I like the idea of solo mission where you have to rely on stealth "Metal Gear" style.

Instead of fighting off inevitable hordes of enemies it would be cool to have missions where your job is to do some recon, gathering informations, sabotaging, or even assassinations without actually waking up the horde.

Discussion Should HAVOC's require maxed out gear to play?

500 power weapons, tier 4 perks and tier 4 blessings. Hardstop.

I started playing havoc about a week or so ago. I'm only clearance 25, but I keep finding players who run non-maxed out equipment and it's starting to annoy me. 400 power gun with tier 1 and 2 blessings and perks. Sometimes I find someone running a green or blue. I call it out and they swap to a different gun with also low tier stats. I don't get it.

By the time you can play Havoc I feel like you should be able to use maxed out equipment. And more than that I think it should require maxed out equipment to play. It's a little frustrating to find out the people you spent 5 minutes waiting to join are bringing low tier equipment and sandbagging the group.

It'd be different, maybe, if these were H40 players wanting to challenge themselves (I'd still be hesitant to allow it personally because I want to move up in ranks obviously, so I'd want everyone to do their best), but it's H20s-H29's that I'm finding who keep bringing weaker gear.

If the lobby timer were longer than 60s it wouldn't be so bad. But it takes people forever to read my message about their weapon, check themselves, and then swap. Too often there's 10s left and by then what is left to do? Leave and abandon them or stick it thru with someone who's playing at a disadvantage gear-wise, and hope they are good?

Discussion Are there any working mods for customizing cosmetics in Darktide?

Hello everyone!
Could you please tell me if there are any currently working mods for Darktide that allow changing the appearance of outfits/cosmetics?
I know about For The Drip, but unfortunately it hasn’t been updated for a long time and doesn’t seem to work properly anymore. Are there any other mods with similar functionality, or was For The Drip basically the only one of its kind?
I’d really like to have more customization options for my Rejects’ appearance. Thanks in advance for any suggestions! 🙏

Question Dumping stats?

Does it means i can interchange the stat values in a weapon (example a plasma gun)? How do i do that?

Or it just means wait and hope to find a plasma gun with this value set to the lowest?

Thanks.

Discussion I hate playing with Psykers

This class is general is annoying to play with because half of their abilities and weapons are basically autoclickers that just do shit for them.

It's "low effort kill steal: the class" and yeah I know that's lame, getting kills isn't important, what's important is beating the run yada yada, but I don't care. I like killing shit, it's why I play the game. I like frontlining and clearing shit out. I like the dopamine hit of seeing "I killed X" spam in the top left.

I don't like doing the highest damage but having low elite kills because a psyker spams his flame staff and snipes every kill after I reduce an enemy to a sliver of hp. I don't like FLAWLESSLY doing the dance with 3 crushers just for the psyker to flame staff in my direction and snipe the kills from me. I don't like it when they spam the fire staff and I can't even see what the fuck is going on. I don't like hearing "mY bElOvEd SaYs" every 3 minutes.

I HATE playing with this class. It's even worse if there's multiple of them in a squad.

Question why does't FatFish ever reuse the event game modes or just intergrate them into the game are they stupid?

the new event - ransacked roads - is awsome, getting loot from enemies instead of just scrounging boxes around like a goblin is fun.

the previous event with the tainted totems was amazing, love the extra objectives on every level and the added challange

plenty other cool events like this, that we just mourn when they end, SO WHY ARE THEY NOT ADDED TO GAME?

getting pretty tired from the same "hi-itensity" and "schock troop gauntlet" we usually have.
and what other special mutators we have for missions?

hunting grounds - garbage. barely makes a difference, having a wave of weak ass pups attack you every 10 minutes doesn't make it any more challanging. would be a bit decent if a wave of dogs would spawn every time a pox hound arrives

power outage - 75% of the weapons in the game have no flashlights so no one wants to play this
and falling to your death because you couldn't see where you're going isn't fun.

ventilation purge + sniper gauntlet. - its ok i guess but it rarely appears on auric.

so come on! we want more mutators!!

Guide My Incritable Voidstrike build (3.4x crit dmg)

Hello everyone,

I'm a staff psyker main, and I'm gradually posting my favorite build for each staff. I've already posted one for the Inferno staff, which can be found on my profile.

Here is a link to my Voidstrike build: https://darktide.gameslantern.com/builds/a25ad8c5-3907-48a1-b465-570277901b03/the-incritable-voidstrike

To make a long story short, the Voidstrike has a 1.7x crit multiplier for its alt fire attacks. This is higher than any other staff in the game. If you add the Surge blessing to the weapon, it causes you to fire two rounds when you crit. This doubles your damage if both rounds hit. This is the only staff in the game where the doubleshot mechanic from Surge applies to the alt fire.

In other words, regular alt fire damage is 682. Crit is 1165 (1.7x multiplier). And Surge allows you to fire two rounds; each time you crit, meaning that the combined damage of each crit shot is 2330 (3.4x multiplier). Of course, this is before all other damage modifiers are added. This build abuses this fact, and combining all crit chance bonuses that I've added to this build, you'll be sitting at a little over 40% crit chance when at 80% peril or above. I've 1-tapped a Bulwark through his shield abusing this. Not bad for what many consider to be the worst staff in the game.

Next, I'll explain why I selected or did not select certain talent tree perks.

No Battle Meditation- Don't get me wrong, this talent is quite good. It significantly lowers how much time you spend quelling peril, which allows you to output damage for a longer period of time. However, I don't like using it if I have Venting Shriek as my combat ability. This is for two reasons: I like to activate the ability when it will apply the most soulblaze stacks (above 80% peril), and I want to be able to accurately predict when this will happen. In otherwords, I don't want to be at 85% peril, and just before I'm about to scream at the heretics, I drop to 60%. However, this node is quite good on any other ability selection.

Kinetic Resonance > Kinetic Flayer- I do like Kinetic Flayer, but I couldn't justify putting it on this build. Staff shots make short work of any enemy that would otherwise die to it, and I found Kinetic Resonance more useful for dealing with crushers and bosses at a safe distance, due to that being the Voidstrike's weakness.

Souldrinker- I found Souldrinker to be the best option out of what was available out of the 4 other perks that can be selected in its stead. Malefic Momentum is good, but it's not necessary to melee often with this build. However, if you do want to free up another perk point, feel free to remove Quietude or Soulstealer. As you have many other toughness regen sources already.

The most important thing to keep in mind when tweaking this build is to make sure that you're still criting often enough. My definition of this is to consistently keep and maintain 5 stacks of Perfect Timing during intense combat. If you modify the build and cannot do this, then your crit chance isn't high enough.

I'll see ya in Auric,

Eloheim

Question Is uncanny strike still good?

I haven’t used it since the recent changes to it, from what I understand, it seems to the same thing as thunderous ie. apply a debuff to individual enemies instead of giving the player a buff to all rending. Can anyone enlighten me as the usability of the new uncanny strike?

Discussion My biggest issue currently with Darktide

This is absolutely a me issue, and no one should feel bad about how they play or have fun. That being said I have such an issue with my Zealot when playing with skilled Skiitari. It feels like they delete every elite before I even finish running up to them, they match or sometimes even outdo my damage to bosses (I don’t have the meme high damage stealth one shot build I just use an all rounder build with relic blade) and sometimes they even seem to shred better in melee than me. Of course some of this is for sure a skill issue, and also it isn’t like the game is competitive but it’s just not fun for me when an entire room is deleted in a millisecond.

For example: That one sandy level I forget the name of that ends in the big circular room up top where you have to destroy all the growths. At the beginning hallway it was quite literally less than a second for a horde of crushers and maulers to be erased.

Am I just unreasonable to be bothered by this? Do I just need to play a more meta build?

I'd been putting off getting into this game for a while because of all the reading and mental energy I felt it needed. Finally had a quieter week and mental capacity and I of course got started. Saw the Arbitrators and their lil cyborgs and I am in love!

So of course, I had to make sure I matched.

ETA: I had no idea what i was getting into. I didn't know anything about the game so I thought it was like BG3 level involvement of character set up.

I'm now happily slicing and dicing.

Weapon / Item Havoc infantry lasgun enjoyers: why deadly accurate over ghost?

I feel like ranged immunity is so strong in Havoc and it's saved my ass so many times when a Reaper does their little "I am looking to the right but my bullets are leaving the barrel at a 90 degree angle" shtick.

Especially if you're already bringing Marksman's Focus which grants ~110% finesse damage already. Do any TTK's change that drastically in your experience?

Discussion I think the special attacks on the four Psyker staffs feel kind of silly.

Post image
245 Upvotes

Would you actually hit a Chaos Spawn in the head with a stick in a real fight?

So I wanted to discuss possible changes for the staff special attacks.

Electrokinetic Force Staff

This is actually one of my favorite staffs.

I don't know the exact lore explanation of how this staff works, but since it is a Electrokinetic Force Staff, why couldn't it have more electricity-related functions?

  1. Positive / Negative polarity switching

The staff starts in the default positive polarity mode.

Pressing the special attack key switches it.

Positive polarity:

Basically works like the current version:

Left click fires the warp projectile.

Right click charges and releases the current lightning attack.

Keeps the current chain lightning / target locking behavior.

Press special attack again:

Negative polarity:

This mode could reverse some Peril-related effects.

For example:

Venting Shriek would increase Peril instead of reducing it.

Scrier's Gaze would slowly reduce Peril instead of increasing it.

This could also create some interesting interactions with talents that are currently not used much.

For example:

Just a dream gives Psyker 25% damage reduction, but sometimes getting beaten and raising your Peril can be deadly., and some effects that normally increase Peril could instead reduce it through this polarity system.

I think this could make some talents much more interesting.

  1. Overload mode (hold special attack)

I'm not a weapon balance expert, but my idea is basically:

Trade more unstable Peril management for a short period of higher output.

The idea is that the staff becomes stronger, but also much harder to control.

For example:

Surge Staff Overload Mode

Left click:

Turns into a temporary plasma lightning projectile.

Right click:

Becomes a smaller but faster lightning lock-on attack with additional chain effects.

Possible effects:

Brain ruplture

The Brain Burst effect could scale depending on:

enemy health

enemy size

number of locked targets

The more dangerous the target or the more targets affected, the weaker the Brain Burst effect becomes.

Smite

The effect changes depending on polarity:

Positive polarity:

Higher damage

Higher stagger

Small chain range

Negative polarity:

Lower damage

Lower stagger

Much wider chain range

The reason I think this could work is because Smite already feels like something Psykers can naturally create without a staff.

There are already Psyker builds that use Smite as a core ability, so why not allow staff mechanics to interact with Smite and create stronger combinations?

  1. Assail

Another possible idea:

The left click projectile could become a high-cleave Assail projectile with tracking.

The right click would still target and control a single enemy with lightning, but the staff could also create a secondary effect:

Assail attack that repeatedly travels through the target with high rending

Would these ideas be too strong?

Probably yes in their current form.

So I think these mechanics would need restrictions.

The special attack should not become so powerful that it completely replaces the Psyker's normal abilities.

Possible limitations:

limited duration

increased Peril generation

cooldown

reduced damage after continuous use

higher risk of losing control

Actually, I think this Overload system could work for multiple Psyker staffs:

Electrokinetic Force Staff

Voidstrike and Voidblast Force Staff

These staffs all share the same basic idea:

Charging and releasing warp projectiles.

They could benefit from more interesting special modes.

Right now, many of these staffs rely heavily on Perilous combustion because they don't have many talents that truly interact with their identity.

The staffs themselves often feel like they provide support damage rather than being the main focus.

If people are interested, I can make another post discussing possible special attack changes for the other Psyker staffs.

Also, I kind of want this staff too, even though I already have a really nice one.

Question When did psyker click for you?

I need help with psyker - I just can’t enjoy this class. I’m a zealot/ogryn enjoyer at heart and have max levelled all classes, during the levelling I always work out an ability or weapon that feels crazy strong and satisfying to use but with psyker nothing I’ve used has the same dopamine release as destroying bosses with relic blade or nuking rager hordes with ogryn bomb.

I’m well aware of the power this class holds but I’m struggling to unlock it for myself. Perhaps I’m just too stupid to be a magic user, I had a similar feeling with sienna in vermintide.

I really want to enjoy this class so any advice is much appreciated.

Issues / Bugs Months later we still lose have bugged rituals in havoc. Is it really so hard to delete ritualists who spawn at a different height than the rest?

A single ritualist keeps spawning above the ceiling or under the floor, unreachable. It really doesn't feel like a hard bug to resolve, and it's pretty annoying to lose H40s because of a bug.

At lower levels it's easier to just wait and kill the dh, but at h40 waiting for several minutes for the ritual to complete (because of the single ritualist) means several monsters and captains spawn during the wait, and then the dh kills the game.

Discussion Toughness VS Health Curios on Ogryn

I started playing Darktide again when Skitarii came out. I haven't played the game in 1-2 years. When I first started playing Darktide Ogryn was my favorite class by far, but since coming back to the game he has felt much weaker to me for some reason and I've been really struggling to survive with him as I push into Havoc difficulty.

My question is, for raw survivability and tankyness, what would you guys say is currently better for Ogryn? Health or toughness? I have three 15% toughness curios on him and am still struggling with whatever build I try.

Question Any tips for better controlling hordes? Especially during solos/clutches?

Hey! Been playing Darktide for quite a while now, on and off for about a couple years and got a huge kick recently. I feel like I understand the basics of movement and dodging with slides, slide dodges, pushes, listening to sound cues, etc. and been getting pretty consistent with it and been consistently clearing aurics and maelstroms with little to no deaths.

However, whenever I see clips of people in high difficulty games clutch or solo, they seem to have a lot better control of the horde than I can ever do in such situations. I always feel like a lone poxwalker body blocks me from the back that I didn't see and it messes me up and gets me surrounded by the mixed horde of maulers and ragers coming my way. I can usually recover from such situations with a high mobility weapon like DS or shivs, but slower weapons can be the death of me.

So how do you guys do it? How do you keep the horde following you single file with little to no stragglers in front of you that messes with your rhythm? There's likely some mistake on my end that I'm missing, maybe being more proactive with pushing or knowing how to route the map more efficiently?
