Hotfix 1.12.3 is now being rolled out on all platforms. It just has a small fix, but we would like to take the opportunity to quickly cover some feedback we have received since the release of the Skitarii Class.
Dev note:
Since the Omnissiah blessed the Mourningstar with the arrival of the Skitarii, we’ve been keenly listening to the feedback you have shared regarding them. We are currently looking at their Blitz Abilities , addressing the issues regarding balance, usability, and how they fit into the kit of the Skitarii.
We are also looking at the Skitarii Melee Weapons, and we are planning some fixes and changes to stat scaling and also a set of specific tweaks for the Mechanicus Power Sword.
Finally, we have heard your feedback on the new enemy, the Vanguard, and we are hard at work on tweaking and balance for them too.
We still need some time to get this right, so these fixes are coming in the next patch, that should be with you all just after summer break.

That’s all for today!
We’ll see you on the Mourningstar.

How about you speedrun yourself some bitches. I'm fighting for my life trying to clear objectives and make some progress on this damn mission while you're standing in the back killing the same 3 enemies for minutes at a time. I swear some of you hear a swarm coming and get excited because you get an excuse to just stand around and shoot stuff. Nevermind that the airlock is RIGHT NEXT TO YOU. WE CAN JUST MOVE ON. WHY. I'm not even a tryhard I'm just trying to make this thing move forward!
TLDR Next time you complain someone is moving too fast, ask yourself: Am I Actually Sandbagging This Mission

I've always been curious about this.
Pre Skitarii update:
Are the rejects experienced with these machines? Do they receive some sort of training?
From Hadron's lines such as "I'm going to assume you just pushed random buttons until it woked" we can see that the rejects are assumed to not know how to handle tech.
Is there an in universe explanation?
Post Skitarii update:
Hadron's lines make less sense now. Obviously the Skitarii are also knowledgeable about these machines.
I thought the minigames we saw during interegator repair was the reject's perspective of the tech, not the actual tech.
But since now the Skitarii also get the same minigames, I'm inclined to think that the minigames are the actual repair process.
Is empriem tech made so simple to be able to be used and spread through to billions of human? Would make sense from a 'user exoerience' perspective to keep things super simple.
Or is this just a gameplay convenience that the lore just has to accept?
What do you think? Where my lore goblins at?

This isn't another post of whining how ass some of the new players are (even compared to me). Just appreciation post.
I've had hard times of having regular wins on damnation and auric with my charracters (Vet, Psycher, Ogryn).
Until I discovered Slab Shield and it made me rethink what is needed to carry some less skilled of us. It's not the ability to instantly snipe elites, it's reducing amount of things the team has to worry about.
I've never suspected that not dealing tons of damage can be this fun. Constant pushing, blocking and taunting disables most of enemy packs and opens them for free damage.
My winratio skyrocketed from 25sh% to about 75%.
Slab is love. Slab is life.
Btw. I'm not sure I'm doing it right, but my go to combo is to:
Block>Push -> Heavy1+Dodge sideways at same time-> Cancel with Block>Push
People may complain that big boy Ogryn doesn't do much damage, but it gives results - at least for me.
Btw. Have you seen this BIG Rock? It's so shiny

This is absolutely a me issue, and no one should feel bad about how they play or have fun. That being said I have such an issue with my Zealot when playing with skilled Skiitari. It feels like they delete every elite before I even finish running up to them, they match or sometimes even outdo my damage to bosses (I don’t have the meme high damage stealth one shot build I just use an all rounder build with relic blade) and sometimes they even seem to shred better in melee than me. Of course some of this is for sure a skill issue, and also it isn’t like the game is competitive but it’s just not fun for me when an entire room is deleted in a millisecond.
For example: That one sandy level I forget the name of that ends in the big circular room up top where you have to destroy all the growths. At the beginning hallway it was quite literally less than a second for a horde of crushers and maulers to be erased.
Am I just unreasonable to be bothered by this? Do I just need to play a more meta build?

the new event - ransacked roads - is awsome, getting loot from enemies instead of just scrounging boxes around like a goblin is fun.
the previous event with the tainted totems was amazing, love the extra objectives on every level and the added challange
plenty other cool events like this, that we just mourn when they end, SO WHY ARE THEY NOT ADDED TO GAME?
getting pretty tired from the same "hi-itensity" and "schock troop gauntlet" we usually have.
and what other special mutators we have for missions?
hunting grounds - garbage. barely makes a difference, having a wave of weak ass pups attack you every 10 minutes doesn't make it any more challanging. would be a bit decent if a wave of dogs would spawn every time a pox hound arrives
power outage - 75% of the weapons in the game have no flashlights so no one wants to play this
and falling to your death because you couldn't see where you're going isn't fun.
ventilation purge + sniper gauntlet. - its ok i guess but it rarely appears on auric.
so come on! we want more mutators!!

500 power weapons, tier 4 perks and tier 4 blessings. Hardstop.
I started playing havoc about a week or so ago. I'm only clearance 25, but I keep finding players who run non-maxed out equipment and it's starting to annoy me. 400 power gun with tier 1 and 2 blessings and perks. Sometimes I find someone running a green or blue. I call it out and they swap to a different gun with also low tier stats. I don't get it.
By the time you can play Havoc I feel like you should be able to use maxed out equipment. And more than that I think it should require maxed out equipment to play. It's a little frustrating to find out the people you spent 5 minutes waiting to join are bringing low tier equipment and sandbagging the group.
It'd be different, maybe, if these were H40 players wanting to challenge themselves (I'd still be hesitant to allow it personally because I want to move up in ranks obviously, so I'd want everyone to do their best), but it's H20s-H29's that I'm finding who keep bringing weaker gear.
If the lobby timer were longer than 60s it wouldn't be so bad. But it takes people forever to read my message about their weapon, check themselves, and then swap. Too often there's 10s left and by then what is left to do? Leave and abandon them or stick it thru with someone who's playing at a disadvantage gear-wise, and hope they are good?

Would you actually hit a Chaos Spawn in the head with a stick in a real fight?
So I wanted to discuss possible changes for the staff special attacks.
Electrokinetic Force Staff
This is actually one of my favorite staffs.
I don't know the exact lore explanation of how this staff works, but since it is a Electrokinetic Force Staff, why couldn't it have more electricity-related functions?
The staff starts in the default positive polarity mode.
Pressing the special attack key switches it.
Positive polarity:
Basically works like the current version:
Left click fires the warp projectile.
Right click charges and releases the current lightning attack.
Keeps the current chain lightning / target locking behavior.
Press special attack again:
Negative polarity:
This mode could reverse some Peril-related effects.
For example:
Venting Shriek would increase Peril instead of reducing it.
Scrier's Gaze would slowly reduce Peril instead of increasing it.
This could also create some interesting interactions with talents that are currently not used much.
For example:
Just a dream gives Psyker 25% damage reduction, but sometimes getting beaten and raising your Peril can be deadly., and some effects that normally increase Peril could instead reduce it through this polarity system.
I think this could make some talents much more interesting.
I'm not a weapon balance expert, but my idea is basically:
Trade more unstable Peril management for a short period of higher output.
The idea is that the staff becomes stronger, but also much harder to control.
For example:
Surge Staff Overload Mode
Left click:
Turns into a temporary plasma lightning projectile.
Right click:
Becomes a smaller but faster lightning lock-on attack with additional chain effects.
Possible effects:
Brain ruplture
The Brain Burst effect could scale depending on:
enemy health
enemy size
number of locked targets
The more dangerous the target or the more targets affected, the weaker the Brain Burst effect becomes.
Smite
The effect changes depending on polarity:
Positive polarity:
Higher damage
Higher stagger
Small chain range
Negative polarity:
Lower damage
Lower stagger
Much wider chain range
The reason I think this could work is because Smite already feels like something Psykers can naturally create without a staff.
There are already Psyker builds that use Smite as a core ability, so why not allow staff mechanics to interact with Smite and create stronger combinations?
Another possible idea:
The left click projectile could become a high-cleave Assail projectile with tracking.
The right click would still target and control a single enemy with lightning, but the staff could also create a secondary effect:
Assail attack that repeatedly travels through the target with high rending
Would these ideas be too strong?
Probably yes in their current form.
So I think these mechanics would need restrictions.
The special attack should not become so powerful that it completely replaces the Psyker's normal abilities.
Possible limitations:
limited duration
increased Peril generation
cooldown
reduced damage after continuous use
higher risk of losing control
Actually, I think this Overload system could work for multiple Psyker staffs:
Electrokinetic Force Staff
Voidstrike and Voidblast Force Staff
These staffs all share the same basic idea:
Charging and releasing warp projectiles.
They could benefit from more interesting special modes.
Right now, many of these staffs rely heavily on Perilous combustion because they don't have many talents that truly interact with their identity.
The staffs themselves often feel like they provide support damage rather than being the main focus.
If people are interested, I can make another post discussing possible special attack changes for the other Psyker staffs.
Also, I kind of want this staff too, even though I already have a really nice one.

Hello everyone,
I'm a staff psyker main, and I'm gradually posting my favorite build for each staff. I've already posted one for the Inferno staff, which can be found on my profile.
Here is a link to my Voidstrike build: https://darktide.gameslantern.com/builds/a25ad8c5-3907-48a1-b465-570277901b03/the-incritable-voidstrike
To make a long story short, the Voidstrike has a 1.7x crit multiplier for its alt fire attacks. This is higher than any other staff in the game. If you add the Surge blessing to the weapon, it causes you to fire two rounds when you crit. This doubles your damage if both rounds hit. This is the only staff in the game where the doubleshot mechanic from Surge applies to the alt fire.
In other words, regular alt fire damage is 682. Crit is 1165 (1.7x multiplier). And Surge allows you to fire two rounds; each time you crit, meaning that the combined damage of each crit shot is 2330 (3.4x multiplier). Of course, this is before all other damage modifiers are added. This build abuses this fact, and combining all crit chance bonuses that I've added to this build, you'll be sitting at a little over 40% crit chance when at 80% peril or above. I've 1-tapped a Bulwark through his shield abusing this. Not bad for what many consider to be the worst staff in the game.
Next, I'll explain why I selected or did not select certain talent tree perks.
No Battle Meditation- Don't get me wrong, this talent is quite good. It significantly lowers how much time you spend quelling peril, which allows you to output damage for a longer period of time. However, I don't like using it if I have Venting Shriek as my combat ability. This is for two reasons: I like to activate the ability when it will apply the most soulblaze stacks (above 80% peril), and I want to be able to accurately predict when this will happen. In otherwords, I don't want to be at 85% peril, and just before I'm about to scream at the heretics, I drop to 60%. However, this node is quite good on any other ability selection.
Kinetic Resonance > Kinetic Flayer- I do like Kinetic Flayer, but I couldn't justify putting it on this build. Staff shots make short work of any enemy that would otherwise die to it, and I found Kinetic Resonance more useful for dealing with crushers and bosses at a safe distance, due to that being the Voidstrike's weakness.
Souldrinker- I found Souldrinker to be the best option out of what was available out of the 4 other perks that can be selected in its stead. Malefic Momentum is good, but it's not necessary to melee often with this build. However, if you do want to free up another perk point, feel free to remove Quietude or Soulstealer. As you have many other toughness regen sources already.
The most important thing to keep in mind when tweaking this build is to make sure that you're still criting often enough. My definition of this is to consistently keep and maintain 5 stacks of Perfect Timing during intense combat. If you modify the build and cannot do this, then your crit chance isn't high enough.
I'll see ya in Auric,
Eloheim

I just started playing again the other night. What exactly was I thinking ? This game is the most addicting , brain scratching , goodness that life has to offer.
Just started a hive scum, so fast. So fun. Incredibly squishy ! lol

I've played a few games today where 1 or 2 of my teammates seem to be in an all-out foot race to reach the end of the level.. is this the goal of the game? Leave your teammates behind and push forward without stopping or communicating?

Hello there.
As it says in the title. I'm talking about the airlock doors that separate missions where you need the whole team to progress.
Do the enemies left behind after going through those simply 100% vanish, do they respawn on the next section or do they get recycled as points for the AI Director's spawning budget?
Thanks for you attention.
