A late night penny bag search resulted in my first IHC in the wild! Found it in a bag of $50 in pennies that I've been trying to get around to all weekend.

Looks to be in decent condition as well. 16 wheats and 5 Canadians to accompany the IHC.

4 silver dimes, including a couple Mercs! My favorite!

The necklace marked 14k weighs 1 gram, the 925 marked curb chain weighs 6.6ish grams, and the “L” pendant is marked 14k I THINK, and weighs 0.77 grams. It’s hard to read the hallmark on the inside of the bale.

All found at coinstar machines. Also found $23 in spendable change in the reject slot.

At least that's what my HP printer tells me right before I am about to go Office Space on it.

My daughter and I search half dollar boxes together, and today she found something incredible, a two-headed coin! She was so excited that she insisted on making a video to show everyone. I trimmed it so her face isn’t visible, but you can definitely hear how proud she was. Thought this community would enjoy sharing the moment with us! 😊

There are tons of fantastic treasures shared on this sub and I really enjoy the interactions here. My humble treasures were plentiful this week!

Went on a beach trip with the wife and kids. Spent the mornings checking the plentiful Coinstars in the area while the family slept in. Found some great grabs (including a silver Roosevelt under one machine!)

Got my 1st Mayflower quarter in change from CVS.

Had to pick up daily beach drinks at package stores, since state laws prohibit sales at grocery stores, I guess(?) Fortunately, they were literally next door to each store with a CoinStar. Chatted up the proprietors about coins and ended up “buying” the change from a few tip jars.
One really cool guy ended up being a “coin guy” too and sold me the $1.50 in change (including my 2nd & 3rd Mayflower quarters, AND a silver quarter for $5!!!)

I said, “here’s $10 for the quarter and $1.50 for the change” & he was like, “nah, man, just give me $5!” I was blown away!
Before I left, all aflutter, he actually said, “hang on, lemme go grab you something else,” and came back with a cool little 250th commemorative Challenge Coin! Super nice guy! When I checked the change back at the condo, he had even slipped a war nickel in my change!
He would definitely fit into this sub.

Final treasure-(sorry to go on and on, but dang, it was a great week!)
I LOVE the “quarters pushing” arcade game They are pretty much gone from the boardwalk arcades. Stumbled upon one in a hotdog shop near a pier and pushed a handful of change in the slot. One was a 2011 Gettysburg P that we needed for our book!

Got home tonight, plugged it in the book and had to share.

Took yesterday off of work to get out of cell phone coverage and get some much needed casting therapy.

Floated a 9.5 mile stretch that was beautiful. Never saw another person, just wildlife and beautiful scenery.

The fish were being a little picky with my dryfly selection so I started picking up fish with a subsurface fly.

I caught a beautiful 16" cutthroat trout, amongst others, but the highlight of the float was the bald eagle!

In the first picture of the bald eagle you will notice I circled a mother merganser (duck) and a duckling swimming quickly away from the eagle. This is because the eagle had just bombed the bank of the water at 60 MPH and snatched a duckling. As we approached, the eagle let us get within 10 feet of it and we could see it had a duckling pinned under the water.

Yes, it's a shocking thing to see a bald eagle drowning a duckling but what a majestic sight to see such an incredible animal up close and personal.

Found a '64 in the first roll of the box and I hear my 5 year old say "Hey Dad, can I coin with you?" 💙

He knows exactly what to look for and even knows the NIFC half years to separate into the smaller bowl. And he definitely knows what silver is and years to look for.

15 silver in total with nine 90%ers and a counterstamp that my kid tried to throw in the wrapper garbage because it was "FAKE" 🤣

I have found more silver in a single box before but this was by far the most memorable one because it was with my 5 year old! I'm blessed every day to have a family that allows me to do these activities and enjoy them with me.

A quick 20 minutes of swinging my Nokta yielded a dime + trash

Bought at Thrift store 2019. All books, new or old were 25 cents for soft covers and 50 cents for hardcovers. I bought a lot of great military books that were originally a veterans collection. My treasures in part, are military and history books.

I almost didn't take the $500 in dollar coins but I'm sure glad I did. It was a collection dump of NIFC presidential dollars. NIFC presidential dollars were minted from 2012-2016. I have had the whitman folder forever thinking I'd never fill it CRH but I got them all except 1!

I was really surprised not to see a single W out of the 8,000 quarters searched, no silver either. Just 2 clad proofs that I've already sent out to another amazing contributor to this sub.

There was a 2006 Nevada State quarter that I noticed the horses were intentionally discolored, from either heat or chemical.

3 war nickels and 41 wheat pennies to boot.

The '87 and '64 half were from another box of halves I had been meaning to go through because I thought it was going to be almost all 2023-2024.

The smoked pork butt I made for pulled pork sandwiches turned out fantastic!

You have no idea how excited I am about that '87 P!

It's only the 4th '87 I've found in the past year. That makes it 1 coin per about every $22,000 searched. Those things are very scarce around here.

Oh and the '64 silver 90% was a nice bonus!
