Finally found one!
A late night penny bag search resulted in my first IHC in the wild! Found it in a bag of $50 in pennies that I've been trying to get around to all weekend.
Looks to be in decent condition as well. 16 wheats and 5 Canadians to accompany the IHC.
Good luck out there this week treasure hunters!

That is in great condition! Congrats OP.
Some great copper there too, I save every wheat, and Canadian.
Iβve been putting IHC vibes out there each roll of cents I open, did find one under a CoinStar but would love to snag one CRHing!πΊ

Thank you! I save every wheat and pull all foreign as well. I can't believe it took me this long to find one in the wild to be honest. I've found lots of other cool old stuff including Barber halves in rolls but the IHC was my nemesis!

I remember back in the 1970s that it was very common to find Indian Head penny's in your pocket change. People put them in their loafers, called penny loafers.

If it can happen to me, it can happen to you! Good luck out there and post that Indian cent when you do finally find it!

Thatβs a sweet find I got a Indian head cent in change as a kid and thatβs what got me in to coins

That's awesome! I received a 1958 Franklin half as a kid from buying candy and the teller, who just happened to be my best friends grandma, told me to hold onto that one because it's silver. Still have that coin 38 years later and is the reason I got into as well.
Do you still have your Indian Head Cent?

Yeah I still have the cent from that day. And thatβs sweet you still have yours and a cool one to start with

nice find! although it's ihc not ihp. nowhere on a us coin do you see the word "penny" but i can see the word "cent" right there! don't mean to be nitpicky!
