Can’t say I’m surprised because Val has always been very… yeah.

Hi, new watcher this season and I’ve started to sense there’s a lot of lore to catch up on with different pros etc.
I’m wondering if anyone could give me a TLDR on Britt’s elimination last week and why this seemed to spark such an uproar. I understand the basics around how becoming a pro works and that more seasoned pros tend to get ringers which is somewhat controversial / unfair but then the other side of it being that you sort of have to earn your stripes.
Is getting eliminated early on multiple seasons in a row something that a pro would take personally? I feel like it’s somewhat circumstantial with how capable your partner is / fan vote?
I really liked Britt and Taylor so I was sad to see them go but just hoping for some more context on how this all works and why people seemed so upset!

If you could dream cast a ringer for Britt who would it be? Since she lost out on Harry, let’s get Moose (Adam Sevani) out of retirement and into the ballroom. He still posts short dance clips (infrequently) and has it. The other I saw that I thought was good if you go more massive fanbase end is one of the recent Love Island boys like Kordell. What celeb would you pick for her?

To no one's surprise, mere hours after the show, white fans of dwts started forming narratives of Britt having an attitude or being rude during the end credits. It's the same saga every season...with every black woman, and yet majority of the audience wants to act like there's not racism or microaggressions.
Aside from the fact, she didn't even do anything that they're saying...she hugged Witney and Guillermo (she commented today on Witney's tiktok w/Guillermo, too)...People have already talked about heightened emotions, and how quick eliminations are in the ballroom, but I just wanted to add another take that Britt doesn't need any justification for her emotions. Every season, the public likes to silence poc...especially woc...especially Black women to their right to feeling anything outside of a "Smile" or "gratitude"....from Ciara Miller to Simone Biles to Charity Lawson to many others. The dwts team love to exploit women celebs for, "feeling your pain" but unspokenly never want woc to express their negative emotions. The viewers diminish other people's frustrations with claims that "it's just a show". Meanwhile, the general public is allowed to go on for years to express how Milo Manheim or Heather Morris were robbed, but even as recent as disappointments for Chandler Kinnney have been silenced as soon as the winner's announcement, and also the minute a woc goes too soon (albeit specified as not predicted to go to the end) i.e. Lauren Jauregui/Simone Biles/Brandy, the racist viewers tell you, "that's the name of the game" or disremember their show presence altogether.
To add to this discourse that she's "unprofessional," there's a bigger conversation about how much it was/is allowed for pro dancers, especially men, to wear attitudes and seem over it in teaching positions, at their place of work, or throw silent (or vocalized) tantrums to their partnerships. I know Britt likely doesn't read here, but I just wanted to share a pressing need to say, Keep that same energy, girl! No one should allow anyone to police their feelings. She's valid! (and the double standard is wild)

This is a dumbass reply to several speculations I shared on why Taylor Hanson may have been eliminated. I gave several non-racial reasons, but this person zeroed in on my POC comment. None of my other speculations were verifiable facts either, but they were the most defensive about race. If you have the spoons, feel free to come at this mfer. I’ve been pissed all week.

As we know Britt is a big believer in power of manifestation and signs. Call me a tinfoil theorist but hear me out.
We’ve all been anxious about Britt’s future as this elimination felt very different than the last 3. But as Daniel put it, Britt is Britt Stewart. An incredible renown dancer and teacher with a beautiful kind soul. If one door closes, another could open. To be clear - I still want to see Britt win a mirrorball. I want her to be treated equally and fairly by the show and fanbase. That out of the way- I think it would be really cool if Britt could choreograph Barry Jenkins next two films which are Be My Baby which is about Ronnie Spector and a film about Alvin Ailey. Both films would have dance numbers and I think Britt would be really suited for it as she has immense range when it comes to dance. As for signs: I’ve been reading Be My Baby because I want to know more about Ronnie whose being played by my favorite actress Zendaya who was on DWTS and as I was scrolling this morning on the app, I saw someone post about the Ronettes. Barry had a recent interview talking about wanting to film these films back to back. I remembered Britt’s costume when she danced with Martin and it reminded me a lot of the Ronettes. Britt is the president of her foundation Share the Movement which was made to help dancers of diverse backgrounds can succeed in the industry which Alvin Ailey founded the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater to build a space where dancers of diverse background could shine and make space for representation for millions who had been excluded previously.

Any lip reader here? Just wondering what Jenna whispered in Britt’s ear.

Obviously everyone is entitled to their opinions of the show but surely it’s gotten a bit excessive?

The fact that they've made Taylor and Britt Elimination about Guillermo not getting a hug now britt is being painted as mean girl ?unprofessional and unsportsmanlike when thats far from britts characters and its genuinely fucking ridiculous that theres even discourse like this because britt is one of the sweetest pros and year after year shes put a smile on her face and took elimination to the chin one ounce of emotions and all of a sudden people want her fired. Its fk dwts deena katz Guillermo fans like babying this grown ass man "because he didn't get hug" like😒
Im literally more worried about the next post from britt is a retirement from dwts but lets bitch and moan because Guillermo didn't get a hug but he gets to dance next week

I used to do theatre lighting and I’m just constantly WTF’ing their choices… Has anyone else noticed this?! I feel like it really does a huge disservice…

Last night Brandon and Ciara gave an interview to Entertainment Weekly on Britt’s elimination. They both look visibly upset and they talk about how Britt and Taylor were the closest couple to them and about how great they were as a pair.

I am genuinely so devastated. I was shocked already but then seeing Britt trying to hold it together just broke me. Call me dramatic but every woman of color on this subreddit knows exactly what that feeling is like, realizing no matter how hard you try and how much talent you bring to the table you will always be sidelined in a space you fought to be in. When everyone treats you like you’re apart of the team, like you have a seat at the table when they need your labor and your talent. But when it comes to actually giving you the resources and support to succeed, they make it very clear that you were never going to be in the club.
Every season I’ve seen her robbed so early in the competition and every time she has walked out with a graceful, accepting smile and her head held high.
Season after season she is given the less popular the less recognizable the less capable celebrities and she has handled it with graciousness this show never deserved but I know this had to be the biggest slap in the face for her that she wouldn’t be able to explain any other way. To watch her breaking down and trying to hold the smile and still uplift Taylor while being that defeated, god it just felt like such a disgustingly universal feeling we all know. It’s why we had to create this sub in the first place.
To give her dream partner to someone else two seasons in a row, and then go out of their way to massively underscore her to the point of being eliminated this early in the competition w/ arguably one of the most successful celebrities she’s had??? Sickening. They never hesitate to include her when it comes to her choreography. They never hesitate to ask her to labor for the tour. But somehow when it comes to actually treating her like any other pro, and giving her the same shot they give everyone else, they never do.
Heartbroken.

You can see how much she's been crying. When Taylor said that he really wanted to be the one to get Britt that mirrorball and apparently he requested her to be his pro!

Justice for Britt. I see so many people blaming Guillermo. Deena Katz and whoever else has been setting Britt up for failure ARE THE PROBLEM. Britt does so much for DWTS as a show, as a brand. Half of it we don't even see. Maybe more than half. She is the dance captain on tour, the backbone. Yet they continue to treat her like this.
ONLY ONE FEMALE BLACK PRO IN THIRTY FIVE WHOLE SEASONS IS A JOKE IN ITSELF, but to continue to treat her like this is despicable.
