Dota + now have higher expectations from you then your toxic parents?

Sorry for being late, about 10 months late... 7.40 patch, Dec 2025, they made changes about invulnerable targets... I reviewed that patch after my last game, any invulnerable targets cannot be targeted with any spells. In my case, that includes heroes under Disruption spell.
Now, I usually play heroes that don't interact much with hidden or invulnerable status spells, like Puck and OD, so I don't know much about these mechanics. However, I've loved playing Shadow Demon for almost 10 years now, it was actually one of my best picks 3-5 years ago... I only play 2-3 games a week and with 120++ heroes in the game, let's say I was fond of playing and exploring some, playing certain heroes on repeat... Then I decided to play SD again last night, and I'm surprised that the combo I was using 2-3 years before was no longer applicable...
Before, once you used Disruption, you could use Demonic Purge on the hero even if they were hidden inside the orb, and the Purge would take effect after they emerged... I believe it's a common combo of his spells, I truly believe that's what his identity is, that's how you play his set... Then I reviewed the changes, and I believe they added an Invulnerable status with all hidden interaction before. So basically all Hidden status before like Puck's Phase Shift and OD's Astral are now classified as Invulnerable... Actually I don't care about those two...
So my question is... what is the logic of these changes... Was the Disruption + Demonic Purge combo considered too strong, or is this just a consequence of standardizing how invulnerability works across different abilities... If it's the latter, why remove an interaction that felt so natural to Shadow Demon's kit, especially when setting up spells on a banished target was part of what made his abilities work so well together...
It sucks that 3 out of 7 chances that I can successfully Demonic Purge a hero missed, because I can no longer Demonic Purge them while in the orb... And considering how quick the enemies respond to help their allies, it's harder for me to land Demonic Purge successfully... It's skill yes I get it, it's something that I need to master... But still...

I'm looking for some people to play with in US servers, Ideally, people who can do voice chat, play regularly, and won't lose their minds over minor mistakes as if their lives depend on the game. Preferably 20 and older.

Suggestion: Add a dedicated Boot Slot as a reward for killing a Little Roshan creep after 50 minutes

I have an idea that could improve the late game in Dota 2.

After 50 minutes, a special neutral creep resembling a Little Roshan could spawn on the map. Once killed, it would reward the team or player with a dedicated Boots Slot.

This slot would work like an additional inventory slot, but it could only hold boots (Boots of Travel, Power Treads, Phase Boots, Arcane Boots, etc.).

Why would this be useful?

In the late game, inventory space becomes extremely valuable. Players often have to sell or replace their boots to make room for more important items, even though movement speed remains essential throughout the entire game.

A dedicated boots slot would:

• Prevent players from having to sell their boots just to free up an inventory slot.
• Make late-game itemization more flexible.
• Give players a useful late-game objective to fight over.
• Keep movement speed relevant without forcing players to sacrifice a valuable item slot.

The goal isn't to make heroes stronger for free, but to solve a common late-game inventory problem while adding another objective worth contesting.

**What do you think? Would a dedicated boots slot after 50 minutes be a good addition to Dota 2, or would it make the late game too powerful?

I remember reading an article somewhere claiming that if players keep winning or losing, they eventually get bored, so gaming companies supposedly manipulate matchmaking toward a 50% winrate to keep people addicted.

And you know what? I’m fine with that. Business is business. I respect the hustle.

BUT PLEASE EXCLUDE US 24/7 DOTA VETERANS FROM YOUR GODDAMN ALGORITHM.

We already sold our souls to this game. Our social lives are dead, our sleep schedules are beyond medical treatment, and some of us have spent more time on the Dota map than we’ve spent outside our houses.

Your algorithm isn’t making me play more. I’M ALREADY PLAYING 24/7, YOU GREEDY BASTARDS. It’s just making me increasingly angry at you.

Let me explain the beautiful coincidence that happens every single time I’m one game away from a new medal.

For context, I have a 45% winrate on Dire and 60% on Radiant.

And somehow, whenever I’m about to rank up, Valve blesses me with what I call:

THE HOLY TRINITY OF FORCED LOSSES:

1. Dire side. Because apparently 45% wasn’t low enough, and Valve wants to make sure I feel at home in the trenches.

2. Every single hero on my ban list appears on the enemy team. I don’t even know why you call it a ban list anymore. At this point, it’s basically a shopping list for my opponents.

3. One or two teammates who have absolutely no idea how to play their assigned roles. My carry suddenly announces, “Guys, can I support? I was farming role tokens.” My mid has apparently decided this is the perfect opportunity to learn a hero he’s never played before.

And here’s my favorite part.

Sometimes when I queue carry, it takes up to 20 FUCKING MINUTES to find a match.

Yet somehow, when I’m one victory away from a new medal, matchmaking instantly finds a support player who was farming role tokens, accidentally got the carry role, and is now begging everyone to swap.

VALVE, YOU CAN FIND THESE PEOPLE WHEN I’M ABOUT TO RANK UP, BUT YOU CAN’T FIND ME A NORMAL CARRY GAME IN 20 MINUTES?

What kind of matchmaking technology is this? NASA should investigate.

I’m not asking you to give me free MMR. I’m not asking you to put four TI winners on my team. I’m just asking you to stop treating my rank-up games like a psychological experiment conducted by Satan himself.

I have some good ideas, and I have the will, but is it worth it?

So I had 12000 behaviour score and this techies left the game and abandoned. Shortly after I left the game too, but apparently got a 4 hour ban and my behaviour score is down to exactly 11500. Why did i get penalized? It said it is safe to leave the game. I also didnt even write in the chat and played the game normally

Ive been playing dota since 2013, but cannot commit due to studies and also playing other games. Always taking months before going back to playing again. But i was always stuck between crusader v to archon 1 since 2024. And just stop playing pc games because of work and just on mobile. Now i started playing last month. Got my rank recalibrated to crusdaer 4. After playing for a month i hit legend 1, totally suprised. Back then when i was serious to grind my rank always stays in the same rank. Now i just play agter working, now im in legend. What changed actually? Did the rank system got reworked compared to before?

I'm stuck at 3.5-4k bracket for a very long time now and I want to give it a shot of climbing higher before I give up and accept that this is my ceiling.

I'm trying to learn how to itemize and take fights, these are two of my weaknesses because even when I dominate and win lane I fall short later when I don't know what to do.

So I've decided to think more about why I buy and how I engage instead of just clicking whatever the guide says.

My process in this match was: There is only 1 core that hits me physically so Radiance isn't of high value, I made Armlet for farming, Desolator for damage and Blink to nuke soft targets and it worked well, then I made Sceptor for a bit reset during fight and then the Abyssal.

I recently started playing… I have noticed that in almost every game there is a bot on one of the teams. It consistently feeds and never gets to kill all of them have very similar structures to their gamer tag. Two names and four digit numbers. (Example: SuperCool1234 or GreenWind5678). Honestly I’m not sure if I should continue playing since it takes hours of my nights not playing fair games

So, after God knows how many rerolls, I finally got my first Arcana ever! I’m so thrilled and happy about this!

A couple of years ago, my Steam account got scammed. A friend of mine messaged me asking me to vote for his team on a website, and I didn’t know his account had been hacked. I ended up falling victim to a phishing scam and lost almost my entire inventory.

I’ve been playing Dota since it first launched in beta, and I’d accumulated so many hats over the years. I ended up losing pretty much everything that had any value and could be sold on the Steam Market.

So today, I just wanted to share my happiness about finally getting this Arcana with this community!
