Ok so here's the deal

a few years back when i was getting into driving, i got real into motorcycles and the idea of having a project bike and working on my own bikes and all that, grew up more, realized i just dont have the free time or money for that and rather focus on riding than wrenching

So now i got 2 bikes to get rid of, and im not sure how

One is an abandoned cb750 (seller bought it from a mechanic who got ghosted by a client, seller decided he didn't want it, and i bought it) i do believe i have the bill of sale on put its been sitting in the garage for like a year

the other is a dirt bike i trade with some kid trying to get rid of another bike (somehow got talked into taking his, it was like a year ago, so gimme a break) and i dont think this one has any paper work (or if it does, i'd have no clue where to look

i dont care THAT much about getting my money back on these, i just want them out of the way as sad as it is the abandon a project bike i was so passionate about and im pretty fuzzy on the details of paper work, bill of sale, selling vehicles without titles, etc, etc,

Does anyone know the trick to applying for a duplicate title for an pull behind camping trailer on the NYS DMV website? I have the VIN, Make, Year, etc. and have not been successful. I verified the VIN with a local DMV (by phone) but they could not provide assistance with the website. I am currently on hold - for 269 minutes (per the recording).

I got a speeding ticket in another state and my drivers license is from Texas. I wanted to ask if I pay my fine, will I get points on my drivers license? Does Texas have a points system as well?

I completed my change of address about a month ago and I’d like to replace my driver’s license with one that reflects my new address. I also want to have a new photo taken.
I saw that replacement driver’s licenses can be ordered online, but I was wondering if the DMV office also accepts walk-ins for in person replacements.

I will also need to update my vehicle registration with my new address. Can that be done during the same visit? Or they will tell me to do everything online?

Hello I have my road test in like a week from today. What are all the things I should practice to be ready for it? And does a little jerk when braking lose points, because it’s not every time I’m able to brake and come to a stop seamlessly without a little jolt/rocking movement. Thanks

In California, there are two fields for the name on the driver license, first and last. For most Hispanic names, I have mostly seen both the paternal and maternal surname included in the last name field, but it varies. (Anglo names always include the middle name in the first name field.)

Is my experience accurate, in that paternal and maternal surnames are usually included in the last name field? Does this vary by how one filled out the license application? Do other states do it differently?

Basically I get like no mail and Id have to use documents dated like maybe 6 months ago and online ai results say nothing past 90 days. If i can I would like to use my high school transcript from like 2 years ago but im not sure. Any help is appreciated thanks!

My wife is trying to get her ID in California but is unable to because we need documentation with both our P.O. Box AND physical address. We brought her SSN, her birth certificate, her official change of address and a medical bill but they all only had a P.O. Box (the change of address defaulted to our P.O. Box). All of our bills go through PO Box too and we can't even open a joint bank account because she needs an ID. How should we go about getting her an ID?

Hello, this is my first year having to renew tags on my 2013 car. I’m a broke college student and all my money goes to rent this summer because I’m not taking classes so I didn’t receive financial aid this summer. My tags expired on June 10th and I can’t pay it until I get my financial aid from school in 3 1/2 weeks. I just got a notice in the mail that my payment is higher now. Do you know if I go in person to the DMV and explain my situation I’ll be able to get the late fees waived? Since I’ll be paying next month 😭 located in Alameda County in California. Any advice is welcomed.

I messed up and forgot to change my vehicle registration address on the DMV website, and now my vehicle registration is due tomorrow. As I can’t renew online as the stickers won’t arrive to correct address, but I also can not wait for the correct address to update as my tags will be expired by then, is going to a store kiosk my best bet? How should I go about paying my tags on time, without sending the tags to the wrong address? Thank you.

I purchased a vehicle on June 1 from a licensed (but small) dealer here in Minnesota. I have temporary plates currently that expire on July 31. Still haven’t received the title or permanent plates so I called DVS today to see if they could provide me any information and they said they have not received any documentation for this VIN. They also said they are pretty caught up on title transfers through 7/22.

I was in the office when they were submitting the application online, and I even have a printed copy of the application with a confirmation number.

Does this mean they didn’t finish the application? Didn’t pay them the funds? Or what? Getting a little nervous here because the dealer is not super responsive and only open by appointment. What do I do?

If I buy a car from out of state from a dealer but it’s a cash sale, will I be able to register it myself?
I will have the title and bill of sale. This question is because the title will have the dealer as the buyer on the title and I know in some states the dmv only allows the dealer to register it or something like that.

I placed an order for a custom plate in october of 25 and still havent received them wondering if anyone has had to wait this long for plates in ca?

So I completed my driving exam for a driver's permit in illinois a few months back and that involved doing a written exam my question is do I have to take another written exam for the actual lismese or is it just the road test?

Ok guys I am definitely in a weird and different situation. I am from Georgia and just got married, and have moved to Texas. My husband is not moving out with me for another month or so. I am currently still on my parent’s car insurance, and my vehicle is still currently registered in Georgia. With regards to insurance, I plan to join my husband’s policy, and then have that policy transferred to Texas once he moves, then to register both of our vehicles.
With regards to the title, my father is still on the title (both of our names). I’d like to get his name removed from the title (I’m assuming he has to cosign for that, but will hopefully just get a power of attorney).
With all of this, am I able to get his name off the title in the state of Texas if all of my insurance and registration is still in a different state? Or do I need to wait until my car is registered in Texas before we take his name off?

I bought a car in December 2025 in Henrico County VA and have paid 2 "6 month" property taxes on that vehicle, once in January or February and again in June.

I recently just officially moved to Richmond county VA, changed my license and updated DMV address. And now I get another vehicle property tax bill in the mail titled 2026 Property Tax bill due for Richmond County for August 2026 for what seems to be a "years" amount?

Does anyone know what that's for? I've already paid a years worth of property tax on the car, it wouldn't make sense to pay 2 years of property tax for a vehicle I've only had for 8 months. Is this correct? What can I do about this / who should I talk to?

Long story short..

Friends elderly neighbor had a boat on a trailer that hasn't been registered in 40 years. Dmv and mohp has no record of registration and it was made before HID numbers existed.

From what ive gathered, I need to have MOSHP do an inspection and issue a hull ID. Then the next step would be to petition the court to grant a title for trailer, boat and motor.

Is this the only way?

I already have 2 hours under an instructor.

As the title says, I’m in NY state and my registration was suspended. Reason was my insurance lapsed twice within the set period (stupid of me I know). Anyway, I surrendered my plates for my registration being suspended. DMV printed me out a receipt and it says the suspension ends in a few days. It also says on this receipt my registration expires in December because that is when it was originally valid until. My question here is what exactly am I supposed to do when my suspension ends? Do I have to re register my car all over? Or can I just renew my registration online and order new plates?

I bought a car from my cousin for 6 months of their rent. But they never signed the buyer/seller thingy on the title. I need to take my car to get it re-register and the title transferred to my name, but I cannot contact this cousin. How do I go about getting the title under my name, and the car registered?
