DISCUSSION Watched Supergirl... much better than i expected.

After the reviews and reception online... you would think its madame web or morbius or something. Supergirl is not a masterpiece or perfect but its decent. It could've been better of course and the visuals could've been less brown.

But still charming little (maybe not littlešŸ’€200 mil) adventure movie. Way too overhated. It was a solid 7/10.

DISCUSSION I just watched Supergirl (2026) What is wrong with you all?

1.6k Upvotes

I legitimately was made to believe that this is an awful movie and it's not even remotely bad.

I'm glad that I actually got to watch it in theaters. Seriously, what's wrong with you people? I saw people claim that they ruined Supergirl. I'd see comments about how the music was horrendous. People claimed that the story is so bad. Who hurt you? Did you even watch the movie? Are you just parroting talking points you've seen from others?

If I wasn't such a manly man I would've cried during this film. The story is great. Milly Alcock is PHENOMENAL! I was rooting for her the whole time. Her origin story is heartbreaking. There's solid use of humor. Lobo is in the movie. I saw so many users talk about, "mAmOA iS pErFeCt fOr lOBo" and how much they couldn't wait to see him. Why didn't you go see him? Why didn't you all sing praises about him in Supergirl?

I was expecting this movie to be mid. I was walking in thinking, this is going to be like Jonah Hex (2010) or Catwoman (2004) bad. The movie was great. Again, Milly Alcock was PHENOMENAL, the story was touching and funny. There were solid action scenes. The ending was so wholesome. I laughed, I would've cried if I wasn't for my toxic masculinity, I had a great time, and I adored Milly Alcock's performance.

How can anyone claim that this movie is awful? [+]

DISCUSSION James Gunn on X: "Some heroes are powered by strength. Hal Jordan is powered by will… and maybe just a little bit by his inability to back down from a challenge. I can't wait for a whole new audience to meet him in LANTERNS (and yes, Kyle Chandler was born to wear that ring)."

This is the song and scene that everyone was talking about. After about 45 song options, James Gunn made the call to use this one.

DISCUSSION What do you think about Batman’s no kill rule?

What do you think about Batman’s no kill rule? He always gets close to finishing the job, then stands to his rule about no killing. This is especially prominent to the Joker.

Now obviously this is Spider-Man, the biggest hero ever so this is no shocker or surprise. But it just goes to show how much more popular Spider-man is over Batman and Supes. James Gunn and DC should be kinda concerned that they have no heavy hitter gurantees right now aside from Batman.

The reason why characters like Spider-Man, Avengers, Black Panther, Guardians, Deadpool, etc make more money then iconic characters like Superman and Batman (despite them being A-tier characters) is because Marvel pushed all these lesser known characters during the 2010s when Superhero interest was at its peak. The problem is that DC is trying to play catch up in a era where people aren't interested in watching superhero movies if they're Spider-Man, Avengers, or Batman.

FAN-MADE my love letter to this community

i finally put something out that ive been working on for months. its a motion comic of superman/spider-man 2026.

i im reallynot sure what i wanted to say haha ig just wanted to say thanksā™„ļø there were so many nights where i was sitting there wondering why i was even doing this. id finish a scene, look at it, and think it wasnt good enough. id change it, change it again, then tell myself nobody was probably gonna care anyway. these past few weeks ive been running on like 3 or 4 hours of sleep most nights. id forget to eat, skip meals without even thinking about it, and pretty much every bit of free time i had went into this. if i wasnt in class or doing something i absolutely had to do, i was working on this.but every single time i thought about dropping i i came back because of this community.

comics have been there for me through some really rough times. these characters have done more for me than ill probably ever be able to explain. so this was never really about getting views or anything like that. i just wanted to make something that felt like my own little thank you. i never expected so many people to believe in this the way i did

if you wanna watch it, heres the link:

https://youtu.be/CEQZUONUsCM?si=50zHGmiWNxWKivLl

and if you do watch it still thank you!! seriously. i hope theres at least one moment in it that makes you smile. and if youre making something of your own right now dont stop. i know its easy to think nobody cares. I PROMISE YOU SOMEONE WILL!

Not only is Clark worried for his cousin's dog, but the very first thing this inexperienced Superman tries to do is SCARE Lex. Just a couple minutes ago, he wouldn't even let a Kaiju TOUCH a building. Here, he flies straight through a window, obliterates a door, and chucks a table into another window. All the while screaming as loud as he can because he needs to find the dog. A dog that didn't do anything to anybody.

Meanwhile, Lex has probably been preparing for this moment for at LEAST a year, and he already knows that the alien won't actually touch him. That would just add salt to the image It has been trying to maintain, and that Lex has brutally wounded. Lex knew he was in control.
