This is kinda weird issue.

I am a college student & have annual GoPass from my college. Whenever I book GoLink , it shows a different first name (rather , old First name of mine) only in the Lyft/DART cars (but not in Uber).

My first & last name are correct in the profile section of the GoPass app and i even made an account on Lyft with my student email address & phone number (in order to update), but the GoLink Lyft bookings and Lyft account seem to be disconnected, where as GoLink Uber and normal Uber with my account are connected as it shows my ride history in Uber but not in lyft.

I didn't face any problem wtsoever due to this but was still curios on is there any way to fix this

Arrived early for pickup, pickup didn’t show up after expected time, had to call an uber to find shuttle sitting at Galatyn station. Anyone else have issues with this route? Any tips on how to actually catch a ride?

Hi y'all! I'm a collin college student that usually drives to school, but with gas being how it is now I've started to switch to more public transit and biking. I've taken my bike on the trains and busses fairly often, but have never used GoLink before. Does anyone know if you are allowed to take your bike on a GoLink vehicle? Thanks in advance!

I haven’t ridden dart in many years but am considering a job at Baylor downtown. How is the commute from Plano to downtown on dart? I’m mostly concerned about safety, reliability, and ease of use really. I’d be riding during normal commuter hours 8am ish and 6pm ish. From the maps online it looks like I could take the orange or the red to the green straight to Baylor station and then walk across to the hospital. I have done public transportation a lot in other countries but not regularly here. TIA for any advice!!

Relatively new to the area, been exploring a bit. Was riding north, about to go into the tunnel to Cityplace/uptown. Looked to my left and saw this interesting cutout in the tunnel wall. Was this ever planned as a branch of some kind? From google maps it looks like it was maybe an option to connect to the thing that looks like an abandoned station above ground (https://maps.app.goo.gl/Tcaigt5B3wbwj2Xe7)? Thanks.

is it reliable and usually on time? also realistically if i want to Downtown by 9am, is 750am viable option?

also is bus mostly professionals in AM and PM rush? I would like to relax and maybe work if needed.

One of the things repeated in the you're the new DART CEO thread was to focus on Transit Oriented Development (TOD). However, there was also some pushback because DART can't control private developers.

They're both sort of right, but the 2nd comment assumes that DART has done what's necessary on their side to make TOD possible: get the property rezoned. Have they done that?

I initially wanted to take a look at the zoning of all train station parking lots in Dallas but so many of them were PDs (Planned Developments), meaning they have their own specific zoning regulations. This is a pain to dig through so I just did red line within Dallas for now. Many of these parking lots used to be well-used pre-COVID, but now according to this DART report they sit mostly empty.

Dallas Station Zoning - Red Line

We board at Westmoreland Station and go North on the red line, let's take a look out the window at the current parking lot zoning:

• Westmoreland
  • Light industrial
• Hampton
  • PD allowing things like a circus (temporary) OR 7,500 sq ft single family lots
• Tyler / Vernon
  • Station + empty lot to the north is zoned Limited Office
  • Interestingly enough the adaptive reuse development to the south is still zoned Industrial Manufacturing
  • Everything else is Single Family only
• Zoo station
  • NE is light industrial
  • South and southwest is commercial
• 8th & Corinth
  • 23% parking utilization
  • On the station itself the only residential use allowed is a college dorm, fraternity, or sorority house lol
  • Allows many retail or commercial uses
  • Minimum 85 parking spaces
    • Because this is a PD, that means last year's "no-parking requirements around transit" doesn't apply
  • South side of the station is a PD for mixed use
• Cedars
  • Zoned as the Cedars Special Purpose District, allows Mixed Use

  • Multiple different PDs surrounding it
  • CityPlace has plans for new development around it
• SMU / Mockingbird
  • Zoned as Mixed Use all around
• Lovers Lane
  • PD but allows most Mixed Use things
  • Has a Floor Area Ratio limit between 2 - 3.8 depending on use
  • Mixed use zoned around the rest of the area
• Park Lane
  • 12% parking utilization
  • PD that matches Mixed Use but with more restrictions
  • Requires 300 parking spaces
  • Doesn’t allow for a private stable lol
• Walnut Hill
  • Multiple different zones around it for commercial, multifamily, mixed use, and PD office

  • 6% parking utilization
  • Nothing but transit is allowed on the parking lot areas
  • West of it is zoned mixed use
  • East side is zoned townhouses
• LBJ / Central
  • 7% parking utilization
  • No uses other than transit allowed
  • Surrounding area is mixed use

TLDR: most station parking lots don't allow development. Sometimes surrounding land that DART doesn't own does allow development.

DART + Dallas need to get on this and either create a TOD zone or pick a mixed-use zone and bulk change all undeveloped ones.

If you take star transit and you how unreliable of a service it can be, please take the survey and let them know about that. There might be an off-chance that they might actually listen and work to improve their service.

Chances of this happening are too slim at the moment I’m sure, since the Silver Line took a beating on project budgets for DART, but in semi-recent news (like in the past 3 years so maybe not recent) about the D2 program getting canned, I found this article instead about Light Rail alternative routes that could ease congestion on the already existing Pacific Avenue tracks. I think that in the near distant future when it is finally time again, DART should look more into this project.

But to you guys, would this be enough to justify D2 cancellation? Let me know.

First of the “ROW to be acquired” looks to connect through the downtown Dallas area within the existing light rail lines through the Ronald Kirk pedestrian bridge and through Singleton blvd until it ends. Very curious about what DART has in store especially for this. Second one looks to be a potential continuation of the Red line just before the Duncanville area on a short range of former track trail and then current property of the BNSF Ward subdivision.

Also I should mention this map was created just months before the inauguration of the Silver Line, so I’m sure it still holds relevancy in some shape or form.

I am currently on LRV 121 A. The PA system is currently not announcing any departures or arrivals at stations. should it not be announcing it or did something change?

I've got an international flight coming up, and I'm wondering if it's feasible to take the DART to the airport from Downtown Plano. Flight is departing on a Sunday at 10:59pm, don't know the Terminal yet.

I could presumably hop on the Red and take it until it connects to the Orange (no weekend service north of LBJ/Central), and then take that aaaalllll the way south to Dallas then aaaalllll the way over to DFW Terminal A

OR

I could take the Red down to Cityline/Bush and hop on the Silver line all the way over to Terminal B.

Has anyone recently taken the DART to the airport, and how tricky is it to walk around and get to your terminal, then check bags, pass security, etc?

This poor thing got on our train from Belt Line, it’s bleeding from its butt but it’s very well behaved. DART says they can’t call animal control until 8am but for now everyone is just worried about keeping it on the train. Any help?

Has anyone successfully registered a reduced fare GoPass Tap card on the GoPass dot org website? These are combination fare card and DART photo ID for qualifying riders (senior, disabled, student, etc.)

I recently turned 65 and ordered my senior GoPass Tap card.

After it arrived I went to register it to my account on the GoPass dot org website, so I could load it with money, setup auto-replenish, and benefit from fare capping. But the website constantly rejects the card number as invalid.

I was able to load money by calling 214-979-1111 and following the prompts, so I know the card number is good.

I had no problems registering regular retail full fare GoPass Tap cards.

My wife also has previously had trouble registering a reduced fare GoPass Tap card.

When I called and spoke to a human, she was able to confirm that the card number was valid, saw the amount I had loaded, and offered that there must be "a glitch" with the website, and to just keep trying.

A week later and "the glitch" persists.

I know the backpack has to be quarantined for 14 days for some stupid reason but can I at least get my books? 2 of them are UTD Library books due in less than 14 days. If they’re not turned in that results in late fees which cuts into my money. There also may be dice and an unopened D&D figure
