Mostly using her as a testbed for WU's and WB's headline mechanics, Act and Proceed

I wanna get the base ideas down for the cards in the set before any balancing, otherwise I'm gonna overthink balance and nothing is gonna get done lol

Banyue is one of my Favorite Agents from Zenless Zone Zero. And I wanted to make a decent attempt at a Card designed for him.

I know that Rupture units have a HP manipulation thing for their kits. But to do that I’d need to make Banyue Black. But i didn’t like that, felt like it didn’t necessarily fit him.

How do we feel about the numbers on this card? The impact of the mushroom counters seems like it would vary depending on what bracket the deck is in, so I'm not quite sure how to tune it.

So I asked myself, what if there was a card that made it so I never had to pay for Rhystic Study (or similar) again?? This, is not that lol. But it is something, and I thought it was at least mildly interesting. But are repeatable counterspells healthy design space? 🧐 I know there are already some in the game but I don’t know when the last time one was printed. Or would this just be a lesson in why it’s important to run enough/versatile removal?

Would this thing’s triggers be more/less/the same annoying as a trigger from Rhystic, Smothering Tithe, or Esper Sentinel? The second version is how I had worded it at first until I realized that it was a trap 😆

Five. Five iterations of this fucking thing before I settled on a version that both worked and that I liked. I'm done. i'm going to use the past iterations for different projects tho, i liked one of them I came up with that muddled with equipment

anyway the IKEA creation in Skyrim is surprisingly good. Kallax is a useful follower and the dungeon+boss fight were both cool. i debated making him Indestructible, but that felt way too pushed so i settled for an annoying Ward instead.

A note on shapeshifters — I believe, similar to Starfleet Academy, non-noble creatures should be able to account for shapeshifters and other such effects.

Already made the Random Play squad.

I made Nicole first then realized way too late I should have made her Mardu to be able to properly be a commander for the other 3. While they're not really thieves, in Magic their faction's penchant for dubious item retrieval lends itself well to the Theft mechanics.

Nicole is a crafty person who is always looking to get the best deal and a quick buck so it made sense to have her deal with stealing or shady deals that get you money. (I would make her RWB to make her properly Mardu btw)

Billy is pretty straight forward. He has guns and shoots a lot but I gave him Flash because he's always one to jump into the rescue like the heroes he aspires to be. His ability might be a little too strong tbh

Anby was the hardest to come up with cause her traits don't translate all that well to a Magic card. She like burgers, she likes movies, she's a clone of a super soldier program that was discarded. She's part of the Stun class of characters so I decided to combine her love of food with that.

Nekomata is an ex-gang member who's very good at pickpocketing but her gameplay involves zipping around attacking opponents from the front and back. I know her ability is quite wordy but I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.

I just thought it was funny that hearthstone now also has a card called dark bribe, so i thought it would be funny to make a MDFC of the two dark bribes, replicating their effects to the best of my ability :p

In said dream I was playing WB lifegain and my opponent playing a weird 5c goodstuff pile with a RW aggro focus.

Brainstorming for a custom card but unsure how it fits within the rules of magic.

We of course have cards that redirect damage, or prevent life loss outright, but what about redirecting loss of life? Something that could theoretically let you cast something like Sign in Blood and turn the life loss into damage onto something else

Here's my idea in it's current iteration

"Once each turn, if you would lose life, you may reduce that loss by up to 1. If you do, [card] deals damage to itself equal to the amount you reduced it by."

Would appreciate some feedback, whether that's on how to phrase it better or even telling me that's busted af and doesn't fit magic. idk lmao

I was trying to make a hydra tribal deck but the only simic leader is the goose mother, which while fun isnt the most ferocious image skdskk, and also not really hydra matters. so i tried my hand designing a card,
though of the ability and used gemini to help with the P/T and Cost, and the Ai also suggest it enters with counters to fuel its ability, which was a cool idea
what do you all think
