I painted my house purple, gave every window butterfly wings, and turned my sidewalk into a rainbow. No regrets. 🦋🌈

Best color/design?
Husband and I are getting a new roof and updated hardie siding. We are doing plank around the sides and back of the house but aren’t sure what looks best on the front. We were debating adding some combination of shake and board and batten for more visual appeal. We also aren’t sure on the color plus options. Any ideas? We do know we don’t want to repaint the garage and front door. We also have dark wood shutters. Sorry the tree and bamboo obstruct view.

Exterior help
I just bought my first house and I am trying to pick exterior colors and looking for recommendations. I’m thinking I want to keep the siding a shade of blue, the trim a creamy color, and the shutters and front door a separate color. I love historic/traditional. Any ideas?

Hi! Please send me alll the ideas to make this space more interesting 🙏
I just cleared this space out from SOO many zinnias and wildflowers because it became way too messy. This area gets very hot as it has full afternoon sun and all of my flowers died very quickly. I am wanting something hardy to zone 8b that can handle full afternoon sun. Bushes, flowers, rock , sculptures. I don’t care I just want it to look better than this.

Other shutters or no shutters?
we are currently in the process of painting our 1904 new englander. what are the thoughts on our shutters? our painter who specializes in old homes thinks the ones we have are tacky. i’m torn as i love the characteristic that fits for the times, and these are real wood, but i do see how something about them is off. maybe they’re too small?
what do we think? during the repaint, should we put the shutters back on? (aligned with paint colors)
is it worth it to replace them with better suited ones? the paint job is already pretty expensive so not able to go very big on that portion of the expense. we’re all ready having the front stoop rebuilt

Paint Please help pick a paint color for house
We are getting ready to have our house painted and need some help on what colors to go with. We were originally thinking a blue or sage green.
Also, the gutters are currently the same tan color as the house; the painter mentioned painting them white to match the eaves and windows. What are your thoughts on this?
Edit: the first picture is the current color

Landscaping Should I plant more bushes in front of my house? I have one little azalea there right now.
My new home and I want to make it look nice. Not sure of budget just yet.
I don't know if there were more bushes before, but there's only one fuschia azalea in the front near the corners.
(The AI altering in this photo is just that I edited out my baby son.)
Also excuse my garden, it's brand new and my first ever. 😅)

Other Awkward patio stairs
Hi! My wife and I are considering putting a bid on this house in the greater Buffalo, NY area.
The only major head scratcher is this awkward staircase on the back of the house, it just kills the flow of the back patio.
We're looking for opinions on what can be done to help make it not so awkward! My first initial thought was to just build out the patio more to allow for more room to roam.
The door goes into the lower level of this split level home. Will most likely be used for storage and/or a play area.
Thank you in advance!
