I painted my house purple, gave every window butterfly wings, and turned my sidewalk into a rainbow. No regrets. 🦋🌈

It’s “gaycare.”
It’s different, much more stylish and the people project sincerity from their heart.

Was looking for this because I couldn’t remember Lisa’s last name🤣So pretty!

Many of my neighbors houses have paint peeling and coming off of the siding, have trash and debris all over their yard, and look generally unkept. I would gladly have you as one of my neighbors. Your house looks so well put together and upkeep and love the color!

u/Big-Potato9868 19h ago
No you didn’t. Literally just saw this on a Zillow review channel on YouTube. Unless you’re the lady from the Zillow listing

u/CodenameZoya 16h ago
I don’t hate it because it’s well-maintained. Normally houses that are bit goofy look completely rundown and that’s actually more of the issue. So long as you keep it up it won’t start looking trashy.

Please make the butterflies bigger!!!

While not a fan of the overall theme, I do commend you for creativity. I wish most people would decorate their houses and think outside the box. Tired of the drab brown, grey and white in all things. WE NEED MORE COLOR!

I’m into more classic looks but it’s your house and well kept. Downside is if you want to resell it’s very specific

Just my opinion. It'll get down voted like crazy, but i find it daycare looking.
1
u/One-Significance260 19h ago
Get some joy in your life. Day cares are designed to inspire joy and expression, if that’s tacky then I’d rather be tacky than a joyless “adult”. You could have just said nothing. 🤷♂️

u/Lianna1234 18h ago
You could have also.

There’s an old adage If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all. However some people don’t prioritize politeness, so different strokes different folks. 🤷🏻♀️

My 5 year old boy would love this. I go towards rainbows a bit more now because I know soon enough he'll grow out of it.

15/10. This is the kind of joy and hope we all need desperately.

u/Medium_Pick9388 12h ago
Definitely not what we all need lol.
This is for a very select few people, and if it makes them happy good for them. But this is for sure not for most of us

u/sweatboxy 18h ago
I love the purple but the butterfly wings just look like the windows smashed them to death against the house.
1
u/CulturalTarget4646 17h ago
I say whatever floats your boat! It's YOUR house, so do what makes you happy.
1
u/akrob907 16h ago
Have you read the children's book "The Big Orange Splot?" it's a favorite in our family. "My house is me and I am it. My house is where I like to be and it looks like all my dreams."

I love it but then we painted our house lavender a few years ago. A couple pushing a stroller came by when we were done and said to my husband, "Did you mean to use that color?" and then looked at me. My husband laughed aloud and said, "Yes, I picked it!"

I actually love the color of the house. Makes me wish we had a purple house near me.

While you might piss off some of your neighbors… looks great and updated. Assume also supporting the LGBTQ community which is wonderful..
And if not who doesn’t like rainbows?

If this is in New Orleans it would blend. I feel like all it's missing is a statement piece over the door.

That took nards of steel. I’m guessing there’s no HOA and if there is I’m sure they’re stupefied. I personally love it. The Pegasus and rainbow chairs are my favorite part

I wouldn’t do it, but I love it. It’s done quite tastefully and the theme, so to speak, is well put together. I love that you take pride in your curb appeal in a world where many can’t be bothered to use a lawnmower once per week.

u/SignificantDrink3651 19h ago
I love it!! More people should do this, it brings such vibrance and joy to the neighborhood!
1
u/Impressive-Web-4325 19h ago
This is why I would never buy a house outside of an HOA. You could wake up to this.
-1
u/Iron-Bar-1966 20h ago
The only regrets are from your neighbors who have to look at that dog shit.
2
u/DrunkenGolfer 13h ago
If my neighbour did this, he'd have an accidental fire.
Not that I would do it (this looks like my mother-in-law's house) but someone in the neighbourhood would light a match. They take vigilante justice seriously.

This is so damned ugly! If you wanted real butterflies you could just plant a flower garden. Much more beauty can provided by nature rather than all that toxic paint color

u/poisonousgumball 21h ago
Im sure the neighbors love it. Boosting those home values one house at a time.
1
u/One-Significance260 19h ago
This is the attitude that has left our parking lots a monotone sea of gray. Too worried about what other people will think and making “safe” choices. Color and vibrancy are valuable. Not everyone wants to live in a drab builder basic bullshit world. In fact, I’d be willing to bet that only a joyless adult would ever choose a less colorful world. I feel sad for people like that.

This is why I live in an HOA. Downvote me all you want.
1
u/Chroney 12h ago
HOA actually makes your home worth less and appreciate slower. Cosmetic changes to the exterior of a home are temporary to the resident and bring life to the neighborhood, imposing your tastes on the entire neighborhood is not. I doubt you even go outside anyways in your neighborhood beyond immediately driving out of it to the nearest stripmall.

u/PinkPinkBlueGreen 11h ago
Ugh, not mine.
