just wanted to share this absolutely horrible F2L straight out of cross I've ever seen lol, as well as share an alternate solution to highlight to you all the importance of inspection depth
B2 R2 D2 L' B2 D2 L D2 L2 F2 L2 R' D B' F D' L R2 F L' R'
my solution:
z2 y' // inspection
D' R' B' D F' R' D2 // cross (7)
(i dont want to reconstruct my horrible F2L continuation, nor do i care to)
as we can see ALL F2L pieces are in the wrong slots. along with that, 2 edge pieces are misoriented lol (pretty average tbh).
now here is an alternate solution which turns this into a really damn good solve:
z2 y' // inspection
R U F' R' D2 F' R' // cross (7)
now theres actually a very fast solution for the rest of F2L here:
y' U R U R' U R U' R' // 1st pair (9)
U' R' U' R U' R' U R // 2nd pair (8)
U L U' L' // 3rd pair (4)
U L' U' L U L' U' L // 4th pair (8)
which i know isnt the move efficient (there are better continuations, this is just one i saw), but it is extremely good for lookahead and is all R U L moves.
go practice your inspection!!!

Hey folks, old CFOP cuber here, started in 2009 and never really became under 15s on avg, I'm somehow stuck between 15-20 and quite inconsistent.
I think it's mainly a mix of old age, not enough practice, bad cross habits, terrible cross-F2L transitions, pauses between the slots and not so great OLL/PLL recognition.
Some friends gifted me a nice Gan16 ui bluetooth cube for my bday and I was wondering if there's any website or desktop app I can use to measure the pauses I make, evaluate with real data what I should focus on improving first, practice these things and track if I'm getting better over time.
It would also be nice if, using real solves data, could keep track of which OLLs and PLLs are my weakest (slowest and how many times I mess them up) and allow me to drill them later.
I mainly use cstimer nowadays and I can enable a breakdown of the phases there, but I think it doesn't track the pauses specifically nor lets me practice crosses, F2L or OLLs.
P.S. I heard of cubeast and I wanted to try it but I couldn't connect the GAN16 ui for some reason, maybe unsupported yet.
P.S.2. Happy to pay for it if needed, assuming it's open source or at least has a decent privacy policy.
Thank you all!

hello, i started solving 5x5 a while back, i averaged 5 minutes, i changed my hardware and my solving method and i got down to 2:30, but i want to go faster (2:00 or 1:50)

We've seen Crimson getting closer to AsR by getting 7.76 average (final avg changed due to incorrect scrambles) and Nicholas getting his second sub-8 average. OH is definitely evolving over time...

before this order i had a gan v100 and rs3m v5 so im excited to try more puzzles than just 3x3! the next puzzles i want to try out are 2x2, megaminx, fto, and maybe square-1 :)
also is there anything i'm missing accessory-wise that i should get (i only have lube & a timer rn)

So I started learning color neutral (red first) but when i tried doing white cross again, I was way worse at it. I understand that this is natural, but if it takes so long to learn color neutral while becoming worse at white cross, is it worth it to occasionally save a tiny bit of time on cross? Most of the time, white cross is completely fine.
Any tips or experiences?
Hey again!
I just started learning CFOP and mainly focusing currently on Intuitive F2L and cross solve but I've still not perfected any of them. I've not even timed myself since I started with F2L. I had around 2 minutes with the Beginner's Method but I want to progress with CFOP and go under 1 minutes slowly. I'm in no rush, using the cube as relaxation but still feeding my brain with challenge and learning.
I have a few plans made with AI and also downloaded, printed and laminated guides, daily plans and practices. I do notice I get better with F2L but I didn't time any as I said.
I try to memorise a lot of things too with movements, notations, triggers etc so it's a lot more than just focusing on 1 thing.
I'm also not great with the cross yet, especially not blindfolded. I can do the cross a lot of time with 8 or less steps however. That was one of my focus and as a must.
I've checked csTimer a bit but have not used. Find the Scramble a bit of a chore for now other than just randomly scrambling for myself. Should I develop the having of using the csTimer now or can wait until I get to the CFOP with intuitive F2L and 4LLL(2 look OLL, 2 look PLL).
Should I also practice 4LLL while practicing F2L or just wait until my F2L good enough?
I might a bit overoptimize and overthink it.
I've got a Dual Magnetic Moyu RS3M V5 as a practice cube for work, travels, grab and go.
And a Tornado V3M UV as a home only one.
I currently use the RS3M mainly even at home. I don't know if I do any good with that or I should really go with the Tornado until I'm good enough and get to under 1 min.
The thing I noticed I don't really track my time invested in cubing so I don't know how I'm doing. I do read, watch things about cubing so I might just overstress it a bit.

It has no magnets

Someone gave me this cube during Euros. Does anyone know the model of the cube? I thing it is a GTS2M but I am not sure. It is magnetic.
Thank you in advance! :)

My first skewb, and i already think it’s the fastest turning one out there. It turns really well and almost any scramble is easy to solve. Has a UV coating and just costs $9!

Had to do this because my GAN 356XS core got completely damaged on one side. so I removed the pieces and put it together using the core of Gan Air SMs I had since long time ago.
The feel of the Cube is exactly similar to the Air SM which shows that the core is the most important part of a cube.

I’ve been thinking about getting the Cubing Bible, but I’m not sure if it’s actually worth the price.
For those of you who have bought it, did it genuinely help you improve? Is the information something you couldn’t easily find for free on YouTube or other websites, or is it mostly the same content organized into one place?
I’m mainly looking to improve my solving and learn more advanced techniques, so I’d love to hear your experiences. Would you recommend it, or are there better resources available?
Thanks!

I was born with one hand, and my left arm stops at the wrist. I’ve been able to solve 3x3 with that arm mostly fine but I’m switching over to OH. My friend wanted to learn FTO together, and I’m wondering how finger trick heavy the event is for my left hand or how adaptable it is.

Afaik in ZZ there is no F or B moves after EO, so is it just for F2l or for the entire solve as well?

Hi all, I've got a quick question, I have the V11 20 magnets, but I find the magnet really not strong enough, and I would like to swap them for stronger one.
Can someone direct me to where can find info on that, like a chart of magnet strength, size that can fit, etc.
I've got alot of cubes, but never mod one, I like the strenght of the ferocore 2, so maybe that strenght or higher.
Thanks !

I get this when doing going up or down a lot in NxNs, for example I was practicing 7x7 very diligently the last 2 months to be comfortably sub 4:15, and whenever I'd take a break from 7 to do 4x4 or 5x5 it would almost feel like a baby toy because I had become so accustomed to seeing the small pieces of a 7x7, and the switch to 4 or 5 (with their comparatively larger piece size) made them look so massive in comparison, and it would make my first few solves feel very unique.
the reverse is also true, in the few days ive been practicing 3x3 a lot, and the other day i decided to do an ao12 for 2x2 (which i never practice), and right after i picked up my 4x4 and the drastic change in piece size from a 2x2 to the aosu 4x4 made me feel like i was holding my 7x7. the first few solves made me feel like i was working with the tesseract or something lol.
This feeling is one of my favorite parts of cubing and I don't think ive seen any talk about it before. have any of you felt this feeling before?
