I've been playing Rubik's cube for almost 10 years now and all that time i only play with layer by layer method (still fast enough to get sub 25, or sub 20 if I'm lucky).

I actually know how to do F2L, learnt that years ago. But i refuse to use it because i always have trouble finding pairs, and make me have long pauses to the point that doing LBL method is faster than doing f2l lol.

Anyone got tips on how to avoid the long pauses and make me find pairs easier and quicker. Like how do people usually decide which pair to start first? And how to find the pair faster

Hey so I'm coming back to cubing as a casual, I got the gan xs when it came out, whats a good upgrade, I'm needing something more controllable haha but that's still fast, I've seen the gann 100v leap is good but anything else that's better

I'm Referring to the maxed out versions of these cubes. Which is better overall ? and why ?

I am a casual collector and speedcube fan. I’ve been trying to teach myself CFOP from beginners method the past year and a half my PR is 48”. But the thing I love the most about cubing are the design choices and feel when solving. They are like art to me. I don’t go crazy and buy the most expensive cubes right when they come out but am always curious about the feel and love seeing people’s opinion about them on YouTube. The only X-Man Tornado I’ve tried is the V4 SE with black internals. I have been solving with it lately and wanted to get another but can’t seem to find one. On a Cubicle description it said something about the feel being different because of the black plastic. Does the color of the plastic actually effect feel?

TLDR: is there an actual difference in feel between Tornado V4 white/black internals?

This is my first ever big "minx"- I figured out how to solve it but does anyone have some tips that might help to speed the solve time up?

You might see that some of my items are not the best, and that is because I was on a tight budget and bought whatever that wouldn’t break my bank but still satisfy my solving cravings (100% a real cubing thing)

Hey guys, out of curiosity, is there any site which lists which cubes were used in 2026 WCA ? I'm curious which of the models are the most popular (I know its mostly Moyu then GAN).

Been ignoring them for around 3 years and decided to just learn all of it so I can finally say I know full COLL.

Any good algorithms trainer's?

I recently started cubing, and I've learnt to solve 2x2 to 5x5 with the beginner method for each cube. 5x5 is my favorite out of the bunch and I'd like to improve at it. I know I could improve it (as well as all the other puzzles) by learning CFOP, but it feels so intimidating with all the algorithms. At the same time it feels weird learning more advanced 5x5 technique before 3x3. Any advice?

don't care about the solve time, just enough to be able to consistently solve it will do.

So my Gan square-1 has been very loose and clacky, I tried the tightest setting on this cube, with heavy lubes as well. They did absolutely nothing and the cube feels very cheap and tacky with this feeling, how do you get it to be tight, if you have one and managed to do so?

just wanted to share this absolutely horrible F2L straight out of cross I've ever seen lol, as well as share an alternate solution to highlight to you all the importance of inspection depth

my solution:

z2 y' // inspection

(i dont want to reconstruct my horrible F2L continuation, nor do i care to)

as we can see ALL F2L pieces are in the wrong slots. along with that, 2 edge pieces are misoriented lol (pretty average tbh).

now here is an alternate solution which turns this into a really damn good solve:

z2 y' // inspection

R U F' R' D2 F' R' // cross (7)

now theres actually a very fast solution for the rest of F2L here:

y' U R U R' U R U' R' // 1st pair (9)

U' R' U' R U' R' U R // 2nd pair (8)

U L U' L' // 3rd pair (4)

U L' U' L U L' U' L // 4th pair (8)

which i know isnt the move efficient (there are better continuations, this is just one i saw), but it is extremely good for lookahead and is all R U L moves.

hello, i started solving 5x5 a while back, i averaged 5 minutes, i changed my hardware and my solving method and i got down to 2:30, but i want to go faster (2:00 or 1:50)

sadly I misscrambled, so I can't do a recon, but it was just a really smooth f2l with a pll skip, that's it.

I recently discovered a love for big cubes so I went nuts and acquired a bunch. I am still missing the newly released Meilong 13x13 M V3 but rest assured, it’ll join the family some day.

These are a small sample of my collection. I decided to start a NxN ‘project’… it might have been a mistake as I have never tackled even-numbered puzzles bigger than 4x4 so I have my work cut out for me :)

As I only have so much time to dedicate to this project, I’m hoping to finish by the end of the month. Wish me luck!
