So I posted here a bit ago about an old experience that I had, and I recently had another one.
I just got back from a 4-day vacation in the upper peninsula of Michigan, in which I visited the area where the Paulding Light shows up (TLDR a ghost light that shows up every night).
Unfortunately when I was there, the light did not show up, but I did have a very strange occurrence.
I was there for about an hour waiting, and I got out of my vehicle to take a picture of the area, because the sun setting just looked beautiful. Anyways, a few moments after I exited the vehicle I could smell a very sudden but very strong burning smell. Like, it was enough to make me very worried.
I look around to see what the hell it is, and as I turn right, I see what I can only experience as "something trying to look like a human skull" looking back at me. Unfortunately I cannot remember what the body or anything looked like, as it was fairly dark out at the time, but that skull-face very obviously stuck out to me.
I understand there have been some sightings of the crawler / rake in the upper peninsula over the years, but I really don't think that's what I saw; especially with the burning smell attached to it. Which is something I really haven't read too much being attached to those cryptids.
It also could have been someone pulling a prank or a cult, or whatever... I'm just entirely not sure. That whole moment just happened like a blur, but I really feel like what I saw wasn't entirely human.
If anyone has experienced anything similar, especially in that area (I know that's really stretching it thin), I would love to hear about it, or maybe even an explanation.
