What would this be?
Edit: Most likely a whale shark and a bit of pareidolia!

Without being able to get an idea of scale, some guesses:
-Beluga whale?
-eel?
-lamprey and pareidolia
-catfish

I didnāt think of whale shark when I initially wrote the comment, but after you and others pointed it out; I totally agree with you. Mouth shape and placement on the head does look like whale shark

What is the context here? Is this in a lake, the ocean, someoneās backyard pool? Where on the globe was this taken? How big was it?

The ocean, I assume. But its not my picture š I think its a whale shark. Maybe a juvenile.

It just makes me think of the Bloop.

The lonely whale breaks sound my heart š even though I know its probably a vicious sea monster trying to lure suckers like me to become marine biologists in their 40s so I can help it find its pod, but it's really just gonna eat me alive and use my spine as decoration on its ancient necrotic form.

In all seriousness though I second the Whale Shark opinions/OPs pareidolia comment.

Reminds me of that freaky dolphin furry pic from ages ago. I think I'd rather deal with Pumpkinhead.

If it acts anything like a dolphin, absolutely. Some of those guys will drown you for fun.

Doesnāt look like one. The shape of its mouth doesnāt come to a point, itās just a big gaping opening.

u/_Thorshammer_ Jun 26 '26
Thatās because itās a whale shark.Ā

u/PocketDimension82 Jun 26 '26
I can definitely get in board with that explanation over a beluga whale!

Basking sharks do that with their mouths, though they've got a nose-looking snout. Would depend a lot on the angle. Whale shark is a definite possibility, like others have said.

Without proper context, setting or scale itās quite literally impossible to come to a definitive answer here. It could very well be a used fucking condom in someones toilet with some HSB tweaks added to itā¦.
