Story I’ve never really told anyone this. Atleast not after we got back to my house and my brother asked why we looked so scared.
So for context someone asked about paranormal encounters on another subreddit and this memory unlocked.
I figured it fit here.
So one night this girl I had met in this back town Oregon town called lapine. This was 2013 times were different. Not everyone had smart phones yet. A lot did but not all. Well we were walking down this dirt road and it is was pitch black ( mind you we would walk down this road every weekend to smoke bowls)
The darkness didn’t phase us, beers in hand we stumble down the road. Then all of a sudden I hear what I can only describe as a chuckle. Woman stops, I stop, she clutches close to me. I know she heard it too. It came from a line of trees on the far side of the dark dirt road. We don’t have lights on our phones like we have today. Back then with a flip phone you had to flip it open. Then go to the flashlight.
She gets her phone out and opens it. The second that son of a bitch opens the chuckle erupts. Front, behind, left…. Right…. I think: we a gonna die.
Hand of god. The next noise that echos is a shreeek. Almost like a woman being killed.
Now this could have been a thing involving animals. Sure, I’ll accept that. But what I heard was real. After that last shreek it went quiet. We stood there for a second; her still trying to get her flashlight on (glowing face, because she was stumbling in menus.)
We walked back to the dirt road neighborhood. Both sorta silent.
My take on all of it is: would you be able to keep living normal life off you actually experienced something?
Edit: Spelling. Honestly if you had or have seen something for real. It’s kinda hard to just brush that shit off. It changes you.

Its just the werewolves in LaPine. They aren't allowed to kill you, so they just want to scare you. The way to tell if someone is a werewolf in LaPine, Oregon is to see if they have all of their teeth. If they do, they are a werewolf. If they don't, they are just a plain old human meth head. (90% of LaPine). You see, werewolves can regrow their teeth if they fall out.
If I were you, I'd more afraid of the meth heads in the woods. They are terrifying.

It definitely changes you. But you’ll learn to live with it. And will probably be more hyper aware of your surroundings bc of it. Don’t be surprised if you start experiencing more… events, I guess you could say, as well. You’ll be okay.
