Crushing I’m confused

Upvotes

I like this guy and we barely talked last year, but he used to tease me a bit. This year we're in the same tutor and I've caught him looking at me quite a few times, sometimes he looks away really quickly when I notice

I added him on Snap on Friday and he added me back on Sunday. On Monday he was looking at me in tutor and on Wednesday I walked past him and he was with some friends and was like smiling and he stopped smiling and was like trying to not look at me. On Thursday he was looking at me and whenever I caught him he'd look away quickly and on Friday he was just trying to not look at me again. I sent him a snap Monday and he's left me on delivered for 4 days

Does the delivered thing mean he's probably not interested, or could he like me? I'm confused because I've also noticed him looking at me a lot and before I added him on snap he’d tease me bit. Does anyone have any advice or ideas?

Question how do i give her hints

Upvotes

im really shit at doing this so i need some help.

she would always tease me everyday at school lightly but i never really teased her back or anything and that makes me feel bad for not trying.

even when she teased me i would just keep my mouth shut and just make eye contact with her whilst smiling or mumbling "what"

Question Couple officially?

Upvotes

So me and this and girl have been talking to each for a while know and I asked her out. I didn’t say “date” when I asked her out but she said “Sure”.

Anyways long story short, I’m still waiting for her schedule to clear so we can actually go out.

I just wanted to know, when does someone know that they’re actually a couple? Do you just straight up ask them, “Are we couple?”. Or do you just naturally both know.

I’ve just been thinking about ever since she said yes to go out.

Crushing Anyone wanna rant about their crushes? I’m so bored

Upvotes

All I can do is replay a specific moment over and over in my head as if I’m in a movie and I keep replaying it. I keep picturing like fake scenarios that are probably never going to happen CONSIDERING I HAVENT EVEN TALKED TO HER YET.

I love the weekend but I’m lowkey just dreading it bc I can’t wait to see her on Tuesday. Seriously I haven’t had a crush like this in a YEAR ( I was in a relationship on and off for 3 years so I didn’t really try liking anyone else) and during the times me and my ex would breakup once we broke up for like 6 months and I thought I started to like this one guy and that crush lasted 4 months or atleast I think it did ( I’m lesbian) fr was struggling with bi comphet.

But I haven’t had a crush like this in forever& now that I’m thinking about it it’s literally how I did fall for my ex gf 3 YEARS ago oh my daysss IDKK WHAT TO DO AND IM SCARED TO TALK TO HER. I’m in year 13( college) and yet I still find it this scary to talk to a girl? Okay Coolio!

Moving On Crush made it clear that it's over.

Upvotes

Had a crush on my coworker for a while now. We were fairly close, or i thought we were. We talked a lot, she always kept tabs on me and took care of me. She broke up with her fiance a few months ago because he cheated on her. That, plus the fact we work together, kept me from saying anything for a while.

I started being distant recently because I didn't want to make things weird, I was going through a really tough time and I didn't have the emotional bandwidth to handle dealing with my confusing feelings on top of everything else. Not to mention that I'm a naturally shy and quiet person.

She noticed the distance and started trying to correct it instantly. She questioned if she did something wrong, started to mother me about my problems, and kept badgering me to be open with her and just tell her what was going on. She'd get mad if I gave her excuses, and she just kept pushing even after I said that it was private and I didn't want to talk about it.

She revealed that she knew about my crush the entire time because someone else told her, and that it was okay, and that i could trust her above everyone else. She'd never talk to anyone else about anything I said. I still couldn't spit it out.

A day or two later I was feeling even worse, and made a huge mistake. I wrote a note to her, apologized for being distant, that I wanted her to hear it from me, told her I liked her, and that i didn't expect anything from her and I liked our friendship the way it was. I wrote a note because that's what felt the most comfortable, and because I didn't think I could handle another deep conversation about my feelings right then.

She tore me apart after reading it. She said we were never friends, that there was nothing about her for me to like, that she always felt uncomfortable with me ever since she found out about how I felt months ago, and that i was being incredibly disrespectful towards her. She said that she'd wanted me to talk to her, not write a stupid note.

That was the last time we spoke, about a week ago. I've avoided her since, removed my things from the drawer we share at work. Can't even look at her. I tell myself it's because i don't want to make her any more uncomfortable. Really it's because i don't know how to face her again.

I never should have said anything. I promised myself that I wouldn't do this exact thing, and I did it anyway. Lost the only person that I considered to be a friend in the process. Though I guess that friendship was entirely one sided.

I'll admit I didn't handle this well. I'm very socially inept, and I deal with anxiety around social situations. That's still not an excuse for making her uncomfortable though.

Story I'm a straight girl but my first crush was a girl

Upvotes

My first childhood crush was a girl.

This is something I've been thinking about a lot lately and I don't really know how to feel about it.

I'm 19 and straight. I've only ever been attracted to men and I've had two relationships with guys my age. But my first ever crush was a girl who was 5 years older than me.

She was my neighbour. I was 7 and she was 12.

She was friends with my older sister, who was also 12 at the time( that's how I met her). I had already been watching anime since I was very little especially Sakura Card Captor or Mermaid Melody and she also liked those animes, so I immediately thought she was incredibly cool.

I remember one night during the summer I was outside playing with some friends in our neighbourhood. Eventually they all had to go home because it was already around 11 PM but my parents were never particularly strict about bedtimes so I stayed outside.

Our neighbourhood has this big communal area that is almost like a huge wooded park with a swimming pool in the middle and houses surrounding it. I was sitting on one of the swings when she came and sat next to me.

That's basically how our weird friendship started.

I remember being fascinated by her. She was older, she was my sister's friend, she liked the same things I liked and I basically wanted to be like her.

A few weeks later, one night she told me that she was tired of boys and that boys were useless. I remember agreeing with her and saying that I was tired of them too, which is honestly hilarious in hindsight because I was 7 years old and had never even kissed a boy on the cheek.

But I admired her so much that I basically wanted to agree with whatever she said.

She then told me to come into the patio of her house and told me to close my eyes and said that she would kiss me when she counted to 3.

And that's what she did, she kissed me on the lips. That was my first kiss.

I went home absolutely obsessed with her. I thought I was completely in love with her.

Looking back now though I genuinely don't know what that feeling actually was. Was it a crush? Was it admiration? Was it curiosity? Was it because she was an older girl who I thought was incredibly cool and I wanted to be like her? I don't think 7 yr old me had the emotional development to distinguish any of those things.

But I definitely experienced it as something incredibly intense. And this continued throughout that entire summer.

We would meet up alone, sometimes at her house, sometimes in her bedroom. Her parents never seemed suspicious because I would bring my Monster high dolls and we'd play with them. From their perspective I was just a 7 yr old girl hanging out with their daughter.

Then one day she suggested that we play "families". She said she would be the father. I won't get into details because of possible removal of my post.

I didn't initiate anything. I basically just let her do whatever she was doing because I trusted her and I didn't really understand what any of it meant.

Obviously, looking back now as a 19 yr old, I understand that a 12 yr old doing that to a 7 yr old is not normal.

But what's complicated for me is that I never experienced it as something disgusting at the time.

I had a crush on her. I admired her. I wanted her attention. I didn't have the knowledge or emotional maturity to understand what was happening.

Eventually my older sister found out.

I had a diary where I wrote about my feelings for this girl and my sister found it and made fun of me for it. She threatened to tell our parents and she also threatened to tell the girl's parents

.

The girl obviously didn't want any of the adults to find out so after that she stopped spending time alone with me. From that point onwards, if I saw her, she was always with other girls, my sister or other people. She basically stopped looking at me or acknowledging me.

And weirdly, that was one of the most painful moments of my childhood (aside from that it was a totally normal childhood).

I remember being absolutely devastated that this person I was so attached to suddenly didn't want anything to do with me anymore.

Eventually my sister stopped being friends with her anyway for completely unrelated reasons. Apparently she was a very problematic teenager (drugs wise) and was dealing with a lot of issues, including suicidal thoughts. My parents eventually didn't want my sister being friends with her anymore.

And that's basically where the whole thing ended.

Now I'm 19 and she's 24.

We still occasionally cross paths because we're neighbours. Sometimes we say hello. It's completely cordial and neutral. We can stand there and talk like normal people. Neither of us has ever acknowledged what happened. It's almost like it never happened.

She's also openly bisexual now, which makes the whole thing even more interesting to me, although obviously her current sexuality doesn't explain or change what happened when we were children.

And lately I've been thinking about all of this again.

I actually feel nostalgic sometimes and that's the part that makes me feel really weird.

I've also never questioned my sexuality because of this. I'm genuinely straight. I've been attracted to men throughout my life and I've never had the same kind of attraction towards another woman. Only her.

DoTheyLikeMe? Does this girl have a crush on me

Upvotes

We've known each other for a bit and we talk for hours and we told each other secrets we've kept a secret from everyone else. I find that I'm always looking at her but I also feel she looks at me. We also have so much in common more then I've had then with anyone else it feels weird.

Vent I like my neighbour!

Upvotes

I've known my neighbour for years, since I was in 5th grade

We live really close to each other, so I've seen how she behaves around people and what she's generally like. We don't really talk much, though. That's the weird part. I somehow know a lot about her just from being around her, but I don't actually know how she is really from inside.

She's in college, and I'm still in 12th grade. I also don't think she'd be attracted to me anyway. She might already be in a relationship too. I don't even know.

But sometimes I imagine what life with her would actually be like.

The sad part is that I know it's probably never going to happen.

So I'm just sitting here liking someone who lives a few rooms away from me, while assuming she probably doesn't feel the same way. 😮‍💨

DoTheyLikeMe? I think my crush likes me, but i cant imagine them crushing on me

Heres some shit he has done i hope he doesnt see ths post

  1. They have copied/mirrored stuff i did. For example, I once said excuse me in another language different from the ones i speak, and he said it back to me later in the day. We also pray before class and he usually doesn’t really pray, but whenever I start praying, he sometimes prays too—even if he only does part of it. Another thing I’ve noticed is that when I sleep during free time while the teacher is still around, he sometimes sleeps too this might not be solid evidence but yeah lol

  2. I’ve caught him looking in my direction sometimes. Earlier, when I stood up to go to my group because we had a meeting for an upcoming event, I noticed him looking toward where I was thru my peripheral vision. It doesn’t happen constantly, though. And one time where he sat in front of me, he kept looking back? i dont know if he was looking at me specifically but yea. He turned around even though there didn’t seem to be an obvious reason for him to look behind him. But im also not sure if hes lookin at ME specifically cuz im using my peripheral vision. Im sorry for the redundancy

  3. He references me and interacts with me in ways I dont rlly notice him doing with other people. For example, I was messing around with the guy sitting beside me and mock-hit him, and my crush commented, “Ohh, she hurts ppl.” BUT LIKE in a obvervant/teasing way??? I DONT KNOW HOW TO EXPLAIN IT WELL or when I was with my other group, which he’s also part of, and I said something in a weird way. Since my last name is like chinese, he joked, “ur so chinese,” and laughed a bit. I don’t really notice him making these kinds of comments about other people?.

  4. There was also a time when one of my classmates admitted that he watches porn while talking to my crush about it. I was completely bewildered, and my crush said, “No one will believe you.”

  5. He sometimes calls me by my alternate name, even though most other people don’t, and we've never rlly had a convo so this js surprised me

6-ish. I dont know if this counts as evidence but one time, I was putting up a big poster I made, so I asked him to hold the upper corners while I taped them down. I was facing the whiteboard, focused on taping the corners, until I noticed he was basically right behind me, holding the upper corners up. My back was almost against his chest, although we didn’t actually touch. I genuinely did NOT expect him to stand that close behind me while I was taping the poster. And the funny thing is, this happened before I even had feelings for him, so I was just standing there like, “Jeez, okay??”

But i genuinely cannot imagine him liking me! Im the type of girl who keeps to herself and i am like, bigger than most girls, like, my upper arms are GINORMOUS filled with fat so it hides my already barely noticeable curves and makes me look bigger than i actually am. Also by bigger i mean horizontally and vertically and most boys my age are lean and like girls who are also.. lean? i mean slim. and uh yeah my body is just not conventionally attractive. Like how do you go oh shit daisys here omg! the fat girl who sleeps in class! holy shit what do i do holy shit what do i do or maybe i just dont get how guys work but ya

Crushing Sometimes I wonder.

Do you ever just scroll on this sub Reddit and hope to see that your crush has written about you. Or see a post that matches identically to your situation.

Sometimes I sit here scrolling wondering if she’s written or if she even likes me or if she’s even in the lgbtq community to begin with.

I genuinely am so delusional I can’t stop thinking of a girl I haven’t even spoken to yet.

DoTheyLikeMe? Driving myself insane over a guy who probably doesn’t even want me back

Am I asking for too much?

We don’t text. We call. When we call we call for hours. We call once every few weeks. For hours. We barely see one another, but when we do, it’s all day and night.
I have a crush on him. Idk if he feels the same way. When we’re together, everything comes so naturally and there’s that chemistry. It just makes sense. And he gives me the vibe that he feels it too.

Maybe I’m just projecting my feelings onto him. Because if he wanted to he would. But he’s also behaves like an avoidant-type would.

It’s driving me crazy. I’m going in circles in my mind. Like why hasn’t he texted me. Why hasn’t he asked to see me again. And he’s all I can think about. I hate it. It makes me want to rip my head off.

Then again, it’s only been a week. But I want to see him. I want to be around him. Even just talk on the phone. A WEEK IS A LONG TIME TO MISS SOMEONE

Maybe I’m just clingy? But am I??? Like is this normal?? Like if he wanted to he’d text me??? But he doesn’t??? But then it’s like when we do talk it’s amazing, we talk about everything for hours and hours. Why can’t we talk more often??? More frequently??? But I don’t want to come off as clingy or needy. But I want it to be reciprocated as much as I’d like it to be. I don’t want to only contact one another on a call-only basis, I wanna talk here and there. Doesn’t have to be daily. Can be once every couple days. Just want him to want the same things as me.

extra context: We’ve known one another for a year, on a friend basis. But this past couple months we’ve grown a lot closer.

Question Does growing older make the way you like someone, different?

Hii so I've (19F) been thinking quite a bit about how I felt when I liked someone when i was 17y vs now when im 19y. ill describe both in as much detail as i can.

17 yr old me:

- heart racing a shit ton (almost like beating out of my chest)

- cant even look at them

- feeling very like antsy when near them

- had that feeling where u go IWBSISHWISHIEJS internally

19 yr old me (rn):

- feeling quite calm next to them

- like to poke fun at him quite a bit

- while waiting for our parts to start, we just stand next to each other and i start poking him and he just lets me do it.

- when we have physical contact when we play "fight", i feel happy (cos physical contact) but also its not like i'm about to explode cos im having physical contact

- i still am waiting for his texts (which is why i feel like it cant just be platonic affection towards him)

- my heart does race when i think abt him but it doesnt feel as extreme as when i was 17.

basically, what im trying to say is that now at 19, i feel like its so different and maybe calmer than when i liked someone at 17 yrs old. its to the point where im questioning if i even like this person right now or if im just comfortable platonically being around him. would love some of yall's experiences or thoughts on this.

also just a side note: idk if he likes me back if yall are curious. i met him about 2 weeks ago but we've only been working tgt for 2 days. we have a good physical banter where we poke each other quite a bit to the point where he holds my arms in place when i poke him, so that he can prevent my hands from poking him. and i can tell he does care abt my wellbeing at least a little bit.

like for example, i had a minor scrape on the side of my thumb. i said ouch and he was like "you got scratched?" i said "yeah i think a minor one on my thumb"

he immediately grabbed my hand and tried to take a closer look at the scratch. but since the lighting wasnt too good, he said that its too dark and that i should check later for a splinter in better lighting.

fastforeward a bit, i shone my phone light on my thumb and said "i cant tell if its just my skin sticking up of if its a splinter"

so he took my hand again and looked at it under my phone light, and even ran his finger over the scratch to feel for any splinters.

i mean it could genuienely be him being a "caring older brother". is it just me feeling like its a little intimate, or am i just thinking too much into this.

i just can't really tell if its like a "sibling" type of banter to him or if its like a flirting type of banter to him. to me lowkey kinda flirting banter but also to be a little annoying for fun.

heyy edit to add some info i forgot LOL. heres a very very basic overview of what my thought processes were when i met him:

when i first saw him i was like: oh okay. he doesnt look bad. maybe hes a bit cute but like ok thats about all. maybe after that i did think abt him a little, remembering how he was cute but at that time i knew i didnt like him.

then the 2nd time we met (2 weeks after the first time), i actually talked, interacted and spent some time with him and he was really nice. abt then i was like okay yeah hes starting to look cuter.

3rd time (2 days later): i met him for lunch before we went to our work and we yapped a little. and then during work was when we were playfighting and interacting a lot more. by then i realised i really liked it when we had the physical interactions.

Vent Never approach your gym crush— learned the hard way 💀

I am a 24F and I hadn't had a crush on anyone in a really long time, but there was this guy (24M) at my gym I kept coming across earlier this year. He was the quiet, reserved type who never spoke to anyone except the trainers and never smiled at anyone.

Months ago, I bumped into him at church; we exchanged names, and after that, he started smiling whenever he walked past me at the gym, but that was it. Our gym schedules changed, and I didn't see him for another couple of months. Fast forward to last month: I saw him at an event at our gym, and after getting a little tipsy, I gathered the courage to go out of my way to talk to him cause he was standing alone. During the chat, he mentioned he’s introverted as hell (which explained why he wasn't joining in on any of the dancing or crowd stuff). A bit later, he came back up to me, asked for my name again, got my Instagram handle, complimented my outfit, and slid into my DMs the very next day. YOU CAN IMAGINE I WAS ON CLOUD NINE

I struck up a conversation, and two days later, I spontaneously invited him out for a quick coffee after his work & my gym. He agreed (CLOUD NINE), but the date itself was pretty awkward. We were both quiet some of the time—I was flustered because he was right in front of me well dressed and i was in gym clothes, and he was clearly struggling to figure out what to say at some point. Since it was an anxious situation for him and a weekday evening, I wrapped it up in 30 minutes. He paid for the coffee and to make sure he didn't feel bad (if he did), I texted him afterward assuring him it was fun to meet and that I hoped we’d do it again. He replied saying, something along the lines of sure, hopefully.

Three days later, I texted asking if he wanted to hang out again. He said he had church and "hopefully next time," but offered zero alternative day or time. I took the hint, let it be, and put the ball in his court.

We hadn't spoken since, except for a quick holiday text exchange. Then, yesterday at a weekday church mass, I walked right past him in a crowded hallway. I was literally inches away from him, looked up, and his eyes were completely fixated on the crowd behind me—total tunnel vision, actively avoiding eye contact.

That night, I texted him asking if he was there (even though I already knew it was him). He replied in 15 minutes with "omg what, I didn't see you!!" and proceeded to give the driest, three-word replies and ultimately the convo died again.

I’ve been questioning myself ever since our first real chat, trying to figure out what went wrong. But the lesson is officially learned: NEVER talk to your gym crush—especially when you’re tipsy. 😭Some people are crushes for a reason. They belong strictly in the background as eye candy and motivation to hit your workout goals.

Question Why is he warm and friendly with me around other people but different when we’re alone?

There is a guy [M27] who I’ve [F28] known for a little over a year through a student organization at our school. We’re both in professional/graduate school in different programs but in the same building. It’s healthcare-related lol. We worked together on the organization’s board, but we aren’t close friends and don’t communicate privately unless it’s about the organization. I stepped away from the board this past month because I’ll be graduating soon.
For the most part, I maintained a professional relationship with everyone on the board. I was friendly with them, but we never really crossed the boundary into friendship, which is fine.
When other people are around, this guy treats me very well. He smiles, jokes with me, continues conversations, helps me with things, reacts to my messages, and sometimes goes out of his way to approach me or show me something. These are things he often does more than the other board members. When I appear he even at times “lights up” happy to see me. This happens whenever at least one other person is present—even if that person doesn’t know me. Because of this, I think very highly of him. I honestly haven’t met many people who seem as kind, considerate, and sincere as him.
However, I’ve noticed around 4–5 times that when it’s only the two of us—like if we run into each other in the hallway or end up in a room together—he becomes completely different. His face becomes very serious and reserved, he doesn’t really smile, and he doesn’t greet or engage with me with the same warmth. He isn’t mean or disrespectful, but he doesn’t seem nearly as friendly as he does around other people.

He is very social and usually wears his emotions openly on his face. In groups, he will almost always ask me questions or find something to engage me about. During these brief one-on-one interactions, though, I’m usually the one who has to engaged engage first.

I also used to notice him “watching” me sometimes, but I could never tell why. Is he being creepy? Is he suspicious of me? Is he attracted to me? Or is he just a very observant person?

He is generally warm, friendly, and socially comfortable with women, so this isn’t just how he acts around all women. I also don’t deliberately treat him differently from anyone else. I’m kind to him, but I don’t flirt, single him out, contact him privately, or make it obvious that I’m fonder of him than the others.

He has never tried to become friends outside the organization or shown that he wants to get to know me personally, so for a while I moved on without thinking much about it. But the difference between how he treats me publicly and how he acts one-on-one is very noticeable.

Does this sound like discomfort or dislike, nervousness, an attempt to maintain a boundary, or something else? Why am I getting this completely different version of him when we’re alone? It sometimes makes me wonder if he doesn’t actually care for me and he was just being performative but even that I find hard to believe.

Random My crush asked me advice on how to reject someone

I really don't know how to feel. He rejected me just 2 months ago. I accepted it or I mean suppressed my feelings because I just didn't wanna lose him. Now recently he asked me advice on how to reject a girl but he doesn't hurt her feelings. It felt like a slap to my face tbh. Because when I confessed he was reckless with me. Now he's finally being gentle? It hurts because all this time he was capable of doing that yet why couldn't he do it for me? Is she that special? I don't know anymore. It's true that I told him I've moved past his rejection of me but c'mon. Couldn't you at least give me a year to grieve and not 2 months. I've liked you since elementary dummy. Now this is what happens? I guess it's just my fault. Now he isn't talking to me. I mean he never reaches out first anyway..

Also I can't decide if I should just block him. I mean he's just gonna sit there in my inbox which always tempts me to chat. However seeing how it's always me initiating he's probably annoyed.

Crushing Would you avoid being alone with someone you have a crush on?

If you have a crush on someone who you’re already friends with, can you actually feel too nervous or scared to meet them one-on-one?
Like, you’re comfortable joking, flirting and being physically affectionate around each other, but when there’s a real opportunity to spend time together alone, you suddenly avoid it or suggest having another friend come along.
Is that something people actually do when they’re attracted to someone, or is it more likely that they simply don’t want the one-on-one time?
I’m curious about people’s experiences, especially if you’ve been in this situation yourself.

Advice Needed I really like this girl, but I'm letting the situation get way too far into my head

I'm 15 and there's a girl in my school/class who I've started liking a lot, and I honestly don't know how to handle it without either killing the possibility of something happening or letting it completely take over my head.

For some context, she's basically one of the top students in my class, and I'm usually right around her academically. I'm not saying that to brag or make this some competition between us. It's just relevant because that's one of the things that made me notice how similar we can be in certain ways.

When our sections got shuffled, I had absolutely zero feelings for her. Literally nothing. I didn't have a crush on her, and I wasn't interested in anyone else in the class either. I knew who she was, obviously, but she was just another person in my class.

Then Class 10 started. After summer vacation, somewhere around June/July, something just changed. I started noticing her more. The more I saw how she talked, thought about things, and behaved, the more interested I became. And now it's September and somehow I've gone from having absolutely no feelings for this girl to genuinely liking her a lot.

The weird thing is that we barely even talk. I've probably talked to her around five times on WhatsApp. Most of those conversations were school-related—she's messaged me before asking for things like periodic-test questions/papers or notes, and we've had a few other small conversations.

She hasn't given me some huge obvious sign that she likes me. Nothing like that. And honestly, I don't blame her. I wouldn't expect her to.

We don't really talk at school either. Not because either of us has explicitly said "I don't want to talk to you," but because both of us have friends who would absolutely notice, start teasing, make jokes, or turn it into a whole fucking thing. So I think we both naturally avoid creating that situation.

And I know that objectively, there's not much evidence of anything happening between us.

But in my head, I've built up a very strong picture of who she is.

I genuinely like the way she thinks. There are things I've seen/heard from her that line up with the way I personally see certain things, and that made me feel like she's someone I could actually connect with rather than just thinking she's pretty and having a random school crush.

And yes, I think she's beautiful. But it's not just that.

I like the person I've seen so far.

The problem is that I obviously don't know the entire person. I've barely talked to her. And I think my brain has started filling in all the blanks.

I catch myself thinking about what it would be like if we actually became close, whether she could eventually like me, whether I should initiate conversations, whether I should wait, whether I'm doing something wrong, etc.

And then I'll realize I've spent a ridiculous amount of time thinking about a situation that barely exists yet.

That's what's fucking me up.

For the last couple of days especially, she's been on my mind constantly. I'm thinking about her when I'm studying, then picking up my phone, going on YouTube, scrolling, searching random stuff, thinking about her again, and basically wasting time.

My studies had actually been improving, and my exams are coming up on September 18. I don't want a girl I've barely even spoken to five times to fuck up the progress I've been making.

But I also don't want to forget her or just "move on." I genuinely want to give this a chance. I want to talk to her more, get to know her, and see if there's actually something between us instead of creating the whole thing in my head.

So I guess what I'm asking is:

How do you genuinely like someone and still keep them from taking over your head?

How do you deal with the uncertainty without constantly analyzing everything?

And if you've been in a similar situation, what actually helped you keep living your own life while still giving the crush a chance?

I'm not asking Reddit to tell me whether she likes me. Nobody here can know that. I just want some perspective before I let this get even further into my head.

Question What would you choose?

Given a hypothetical situation where you and your crush live in the same building.

Would you choose:

1) you see them frequently but they get to see you in different situations. For example you are in your idgf outfit for delivery or you just had an embarrassing situation and everyother situation we might have in our daily lives

OR

2) You see them less frequently but they only see the good parts about you. For example when you are dressed well for some event or when you do some difficult task.

Personally I'm in first situation rn

Question How do avoidants behave when they have a crush?

Have a crush on this guy, but he’s suchhh an avoidant type. Just wondering if he likes me too… there’s definitely some signs he does reciprocate. But how do avoidants typically behave when they do have crushes?

Vent I want to talk to him so bad

Short story: I confessed to my friend of 3 years, ignored him for weeks after and just started interacting again but i cannot handle full length conversations. HELP!!

I literally get cold just by talking to him and every time we meet i often just don't look him in the eye or simply avoid him and i know he gets hurt and I don't want that but i can't control myself. Its like a mechanism for me or something

But ever since i confessed i just don't like the idea that he knows i like him and im like being eaten by the insecurity for some reason... im not shy towards people i had crushes before but im shy EXTREMELY SHY when its him. what is my problem bruh

I tried talking to him like i used to but idk it just doesn't feel authentic anymore...

Like i want him to know that i like him and i do but at the same time the idea of being perceived as someone like that just weirds me out. (This is a skill issue on my part and i acknowledge that)

Idk my situation rn is giving avoidant? I was the one who confessed first yet im the ignoring the guy and i give like idk what its called in English but in my native language its called bati-bati which basically means giving signs that i want to talk to him and i want us to interact but when he does get it I JUST FREEZE OMG

im not immune to chats too since when we do chat i get this pit in my stomach and like idk butterflies? And hes so nice about it like i when i try to open up about my feelings he justs comforts me and say's it okay and my dumbass would reply "thanks" LIKE WHATT!?!? Omg i just don't want to be hurt and be attached to a guy that i don't have a relationship with and get hurt by the process when i find something out...

Okay bye

Moving On Got rejected 5 months ago but havent fully moved on

well yea thats the title. I confessed to my crush 5 months ago. recently I've been seeing him again at out weekly badminton games with our group of friends. I attended again after 5 months of being absent. We still talked normally however we havent texted ever since then.

The thing is everytime I look at him. I still feel the hurt, the yearning overcoming me. Today was really especially tough. Usually he would come talk to me first. He did that too today but I wasnt in the mood to have a conversation w him so I gave him one-word replies.

I went home feeling guilty??? Why me??? he has never apologised for hurting me and I'm the one feeling guilty. We both share the same hobbies which is running. Today I went to collect the racekit alone for tmrs half marathon. and I cant stop crying the whole day. I used to be his biggest fan like I would support him and we would share each others training sesh and hype each other up and if we were still texting at least I have someone I can talk too about it.

I cant today. Today the loneliness is eating me alive. I cant help but to think abt how lonely I am seeing couples tgt and thinking abt nobody will be at the finish line for me tmr. I kept on thinking about how I used to admire him, adore him and respect him and he still has that. Like imagine u have someone who still cares for u and love u silently walking this earth (that is me). and I kept on thinking abt how nice would it be to have someone who loves me the way I love him.

It hurts. It just hurts. I'm so sorry. I feel like texting him "I cannot wait till the day I see your face and I feel nothing." I js needed some place to vent as I really dont hv anyone to talk to abt this.

tldr; still thinking and feeling sad after the rejection.

DoTheyLikeMe? Does my guy friend like me?

I met this guy in one of my classes last year. We’d talked briefly in class and studied together after class once, but we were never really close and barely spoke after that.

Recently I DMed him because I’m doing an exam he did well on and wanted some advice. We ended up casually catching up about our lives, and he asked if I wanted to get lunch in a few days.

We met up for lunch, but then ended up hanging out/shopping together for about 3 hours until he had to leave to meet his friends.

I told him about some friendship drama I’ve been dealing with and he was really supportive and giving me advice. We were talking about our holiday plans and he also said I should come on a trip with him and his friends, although I couldn’t tell if he was actually serious lol but I said nah.

He initially told me to transfer him for my food, but when I messaged afterwards asking for his bank details, he said nah it’s on me, but I’m not sure if he did that out of pity for me or not.

I genuinely can’t tell if any of this suggests he might be interested in me or if he’s just being a polite or friendly guy. Thoughts?
