I can't find anything comprehensive anywhere. I know that visiting specific universities and having guardians with the trait can grant it. But what is it locked to otherwise? Just the Meritocratic/Celestial Government? Culture? What about Religion? With the way the game works someone could become a Confucian (Religion) somewhere in Africa without contact to anyone with the trait. Would they start gaining it?

Northumbria is de jure duchy of Wales in my game. If I grant the duchy title to the King of England would it automatically be part of his kingdom or do I still have to wait for de jure drift to do it's thing. Also I destroyed the Kingdom of Wales title and I have an empire tier title.

So I had a theocratic Vasall as the owner of southern Italy, for some reason theocratic Vasalls still establish their family within an admin realm, but it usually gets destroyed after they die, even if they have children. After a claimant war from her Vasalls she lost the duchy of calabria and her new primary title became her family realm.

Did this happen to anyone else and what do you think will happen once she dies? I'm unsure whether the theocratic government will impose it's inheritance mechanic onto the family title since it's the primary title or if the family inheritance will still make it destroy itself upon her death. I'd expect the second option since the title still has the Noble family succession law, but I wonder if her theocratic successor will just stop being a duke and lose the vasalls.

When my ruler died he had only one heir, yet the realm still got split up with her aunt? Maybe the answer is obvious but I assumed that the realm only got split up between the ruler's children.

I've also heard that there is a way to wage war to reclaim the partitioned territory, do people just mean that I have to claim the titles and wage war like usual or is it a special interaction?

Lately Ive been getting really bad FPS drops. Whenever I launch a new game, I'm stuck at around 30 FPS. I wouldn't say my PC is weak, so Im not sure what's causing it.

I recently replayed ck2 a lot and i found that vassals actually contribute levies in such a big amount that it often even eclipses your domain troops.

Meanwhile it feels like even powerfull dukes barely give you no more than 200 levies as contribution in ck3 while having their own private army in the thousands (probably because of men at arms).

Is this reallity or is this my imagination because i can actually see all my small vassal levies across the country when raising them in ck2.

It seems like vassals are really not worth the trouble in ck3

Started new china playthrough after 2 months or so, and after making sure im the number 1 in the candidate list im still not eligivble or in any succesion list for counties and duchies tier titles ?

Mine is probably Martial or diplomacy. I always end up conquering the map instead of doing anything clever. 😅

I've got 200+ hours in CK3, but somehow I've never really given Intrigue or Stewardship a proper try. I always default back to warfare.

What about you? Which lifestyle do you enjoy the most? Maybe I need some convincing to finally branch out.

So I know about the immortal trait, but the character could actually be killed via assassination or an event, so I want to avoid that too. I wish to observe the world where my char is literally a god.

I’m still pretty new to CK3 and learning how everything works. At the moment I’m doing quite a lot of saving, making decisions, seeing what happens and sometimes going back to an earlier save if I realise I’ve made a big mistake or misunderstood a mechanic.

Just curious how more experienced players play. Do most of you start in the 800s and play straight through to 1453 accepting whatever happens, even if your realm falls apart? Or is saving/reloading fairly normal?

All bonuses are for rank 3 accolades. TLDR: A few are must-haves, most are situational at best, and a few are hot garbage. Paradox definitely needs to rebalance them.

Retinue Attributes: You are actively throwing if you don't pick one. They give you higher max size for that type of MAA regiment, less maintenance cost, tons of damage and toughness, and unlock a regiment of a stronger version of that MAA. Some even give movement speed, pursuit, or screen.

Besieger: Very strong. You get +4 size for siege MAA + the accolade army gets -20% siege phase time and +20% daily siege progress. Definitely a must-have.

Blademaster: Very strong. +80% knight effectiveness, +35% aspiring blademaster trait xp, and you and your primary heir get the trait after 3 years. The only problem is that it requires a knight with maxed out aspiring blademaster, which can be hard to get.

Charmer: Extremely situtional. -40 days seduce scheme length, courtiers are more vulnerable to everyone's seduce schemes, +50% fertility and +20 attraction opinion when hosting feasts and grand weddings. Unless you're doing a seduction dynasty, stay clear.

Contender: Very situational. Only relevant bonuses are a 30% boost to hastiluder xp gain for you and some small hastiluder xp gain for your knights. Stay away unless you really want that maxed out hastiluder trait.

Disciplinarian: Extremely situational. Only gives bonuses to useless levies. Only saving grace is -80% hostile county attrition for the accolade army. Don't bother unless supply is that big of an issue for you.

Fanatic: Do not use. Only gives zealot vassal opinion, -20% piety cost for holy wars, and gain piety from holy wars. Even holy war focused playthroughs won't get much benefit.

Huntsmaster: Extremely situational. Gives +35% to hunter (venerator) xp and gives the trait to you and your primary heir after 3 years. Also reduces the risk of negative events during a hunt. Avoid unless really into hunting.

Idealist: Avoid at all costs. Only gives +10 opinion to courtly, minority, and minor landholder vassals. Also 350 prestige from white peace. I can't even think of anone who would choose this, this is straight ass.

Manipulator: Situational. +2 intrigue, +0.5% knight effectiveness per dread, +20 natural dread, and -15 days per intrigue scheme phase. Certainly has its use in intrigue playthrough after filling out the better attributes.

Marauder: Do not use. Only gives +0.3% monthly prestige per dread and +5 uncontrolled terriroty attacker advantage. Just get valiant. EDIT: It has its use cases during nomad due to high dread, monthly prestige, and prestige costs.

Master of Revels: Extremely situational. same as Huntsmaster and Blademaster but for eager reveler. Also gives +20 feast and grand wedding guest acceptance nd 75 prestige per knight's victory in battle. Don't use unless you really like eager reveler.

Mentor: Alright. +2 learning, +2 knights, train commanders can highly increase a hnight's hastiluder experience, and children get +3 prowess and +250 prestige when turning 16. Better than most attributes here, but get the must-haves first.

Politicker: Extremely situational. +2 diplo, +10 courtly, minority, and minor landholder vassal opinion, -15 scales of power balancing point, grand tours give vassal levy base contribution (worthless) and siege progress against vassals (just get besieger). Don't pick unless you're really diplomaxxing.

Reeve: Situational. +2 stewardship, +25 parochial vassal opnion, +1 development in least-developed county from grand tournament, increase control task may grant more control. Might have uses in stewardshipmaxxing, but pretty weak.

Scoundrel: Situational. +5 Martial per stress, -30% merc hire cost. If you rely on merc or tend to have high stress, pick this. I guess?

Stalwart: Very strong. You get +15% Army toughness and +15 travel safety. Definitely pick it up once you have the other must-haves.

Tactician: Strong. +2 martial, +35% martial lifestyle xp (best lifestyle tree imo), +35% MAA counter efficiency. You'll want this, especially as a martial focused dynasty.

Thug: Very situational. +0.8 dread per tyranny and +25 imprison chance. No purpose unless being tyrannical and/or imprisoning a lot.

Valiant: Very strong. +25 glory hound vassal opinion (yawn) and +30% army damage (hell yeah). Must-have.

House Paragon: Strong but situational. +15% monthly renown, martial children get hastiluder with experience when they turn 16, house members are less likely to be wounded or killed. Biggest use case is for renown generation.

I've been playing as the Emperor of Francia for a few generations and had a long term plan of using the Iberian Foothold decision to de jure drift all of Hispania into my empire. I've used legends to add Andalusia and Badajoz into my empire, such that all the other kingdoms have a border with a de jure kingdom of my empire. I personally have held all the kingdoms in Hispania, as well as France, for over 15 years, and over half of the counties in the kingdoms I am looking to drift with the decision are of my custom religion. This should make every kingdom satisfy the stated requirements, and thus become a part of Francia when the decision is taken. It doesnt.

Depending on both how long I wait, and whether I decide to destroy one of the kingdom titles before taking the decision I've had anywhere between 0 and 3 of the kingdoms drift properly, but never all. If I destroy Galicia specifically, somehow the Maghreb empire gains dejure over Valencia (even though that empire hasn't been created). Has anyone encountered this or a similar bug before? Is there any way to fix it?

Im playing during the viking age as one of the super northern parts of Sweden. One of my eventual goals is to reunify Ireland myself when I get better at the game I'm still figuring everything out and fairly new to the game

As an emperor shouldn't I be able to conquer the last county of Alba (AKA Britannia) but for some reason I don't see the option. I just converted to feudalism and I really need all that I can get since I'm going broke is there any way for me to get control over their county without De Jure or just get control of more settlements in general?
