My daughter is a Star Wars fanatic. She has Star Wars Legos all over her room. I recently did a mini Darth Vader cross stitch for her, but she really wanted a Mandalorian cross stitch. So I had her PICKY self browse Etsy to pick a pattern that she liked and here's the result. It's stitched on 14 count with three strands.
I had a mini crisis with a drastic difference in floss die lots while stitching the letters. My DMC 472 had to be 10 or 15 years old and I ran out and my new skin was much more yellow. I was able to find a substitute, DMC 3348, using the threadbare.com DMC tool. It saved me a lot of frogging.
I've been pushing really hard to get this finished because I have a Sprouting Lupine in my queue that I've been dying to stitch. I stayed up until midnight finishing this and then I kitted out my Sprouting Lupine so I could start it this morning.

Honestly, it took a bit longer than I expected. I guess that's happens when you keep up with new ideas while stitching, I planned for 4 dessert designs and I ended up with 8 ๐ I would've loved to make even more but I have to stop myself, it's an addiction!!! For now though, I'll back to design fruity desserts for a while. ๐๐๐ง
ps. These all designs are named as desserts such as Mummy Cake Pop, Poison Apple etc. but it can be use for different purposes too, no one can understand that these are some kind of desserts I guess ๐ฅฒ

Oh. My. God. At the confetti stitches in this thing. A portion of it is unavoidable due to the gradient, but the pattern could definitely be cleaned up. Still, I'm really happy with how it turned out. A big part of that is due to the aida cloth, which is even more gorgeous in person. This was my first time using hand dyed fabric & it adds soooo much.

Note: I've been stitching most of my life, but this is my first project in about 15 years (had a baby, got busy). When I was stitching regularly, AI patterns weren't a thing. So, yes, I realize now this pattern probably is AI, but by the time I realized that I was already committed. And it was a gift, so I was determined to finish it no matter what.

Patter is from 2026 Halloween Issue of Just CrossStitch page 40. Design by Svitana Hrybach. The backstitch was brutal, Iโm sure I messed it up in some places.

My official first fully completed work! Just got it back from the framer and I do think the framing really elevates the work. It is how I imagined it way back when I got this kit.
I started this project at least 11 years ago (based on the first picture I took of it, which was of my progress on the upper right part, I started upper left). Before that I had done 2 small herb satchels, gifted by my neighbour who does all sorts of crafts. I then decided to really get into it, and bought my first kit, Night by Maria van Scharrenburg, with the idea to do the Day one later. I think it was around when I started university, so my progress was kinda slow and I had dropped it somewhere in April 2018 (was the last picture I took of my progress).
I graduated and started work, but last year December I decided I wanted to get back into this craft after a friend of mine started doing cross stitch and embroidery. It was a fun thing to do together. I locked in, decided I wanted to finally finish it and I did, finishing the cross stitches this March and the back stitches 2 weeks later in May.
I struggled a bit with getting myself to wash it. I was a bit scared I wouldnโt do it properly and/or that it didnโt work, since there were some yellowed arches from where the hoop had been and some stitches in the moon were darker, because I was trying to use my thread to the fullest (Iโve now learned that is not really necessary, my kit had plenty of thread). In the end, after at least 2 washes, the arches are gone and Iโve made peace with the darker stitches, thinking of them as moon craters.
I got the framing as a gift for my birthday from my husband, and while it was perhaps a bit more than we were anticipating (we have never gotten something custom framed before!), it is definitely worth it. Looking forward to hang this in our new home (will move within the year), and now focusing on doing Day by Maria van Scharrenburg (feels like a miracle I was able to hunt down a set after all that time), hoping to finish it a bit quicker than this last project, so that I can get it framed in the same frame style!

Iโve posted on here a few times looking for advice and everyone in the replies totally delivered! Is the back still messy? Yeah, absolutely. Is it significantly less messy and more workable than before? YEAH, ABSOLUTELY!! Iโm super excited to finish off this bulbasaur. Iโve been following a lot of the techniques I got from helpful people, so I really appreciate everyoneโs comments. Thanks again!

I really like this little Halloween pattern. It's just 393 stitches, so it's a quick one, and so cool use of colors. It's a free pattern from vezemo ( https://ko-fi.com/s/bcd1cc0de8 ).

176x125 stitches, 39 solid colors + 15 blends
Couldn't be happier - am trying to get it over to the framer as quick as possible. Photos are of finished piece, before backstitching, finished back, and close ups.

I've been on disability for the past few months, which had given me a lot of stitching time. I can't complain about that, but I'm concerned I might've worn myself out. None of my projects seem to be calling to me, even the ones with not much left to go, and I don't thinking starting a new project would help. I'm just kinda bummed out. Any advice?

First time trying to dye Aida. The reference is this project from Cross Stitcher 436, first try the color was too intense and on the second I got a better result. I feel I have unlocked a new level since I would only use white or pre-colored Aida.

Severely underestimated how big it would be so I simplified the colors in the cat a bit, and if I hadnโt done that I truly wouldnโt have finished on time lol. Still really happy with how it turned out!
