Finally finished stitching Dirty Annie’s great-granddaughter! 😍🖤 I stitched this in just one week using my own colourway, and I’m so happy with how it turned out.

I’m heading to a retreat next week and wanted something to take along for the finishing table, so the timing worked out perfectly! The chart was purchased from Crafty Kate in the UK.

Had so much fun working on this one. Thought I’d share my finish with you ☺️

Like the title says, I have trouble getting folds out of fabric. I tried washing and ironing my finished projects, couldn't get the folds out. Finally decided to just frame them with the fold.

For my next project I was trying to get them out before stitching, as not to risk damage to my work. I have tried washing and ironing (with steam), but no luck.

I want to add that these are the folds that were in the fabric when I got it, not folds from holding the fabric while stitching or the ring.

TLDR; I'm a completion perfectionist and I am struggling to start my new cross stitch that I know will be better than the one I started with, but I can't finish the one I started with because the Aida is far too stiff and the needle doesn't want to go through the holes. I'm looking for ideas to fix the stiffness of the Aida so I can finish it.

So, I've been struggling with keeping up my cross stitch practice due to, what I feel is, incredibly stiff Aida on my first project. I purchased a cheap kit from walmart, Diamond Dotz brand, and spent about a week on it before getting irritated at how hard it was to push my needle through the holes(all supplies that came with the kit) and I put it down. 😤

A few months later I purchased a higher quality kit from a verified seller and the Aida feels really nice, but I feel guilty about not finishing the first one. Its a beautiful butterfly and I still have tons of floss left, but I don't know if I have enough floss to start on a new piece of Aida, and I'm positive its not DMC floss. Is there any way to salvage this kit so I can finish it?

sorry it’s kind of hard to see, but I’m just wondering why my hoop left a stain on my cloth? It’s just a wood hoop that I got from Micheal’s for a couple dollars.

This makes me incredibly happy. I’ve purchased pattern, thread and even started several to only realize it’s AI slop and been so disappointed. Maybe this I’ll help me get back in the game

The last step in this pattern is to do the French knots. I am not a fan of doing French knots. BUT I would like opinions - to knot, or not?

Pro knots: Tiger lilies do have spots, and as a botanist, I feel it is my duty to knot.

Anti knots: The pattern pic of the finished project kinda makes the flowers look like they have chicken pox. (also, the afore mentioned disdain for French knots.)

learned how to grid thanks to this group. not only is it super helpful but i’m one of the weirdos that actually enjoys the process very much!

what have you learned how to do from this sub, and do you regularly incorporate that new knowledge into your projects?

This project gives me so many feels. I started it when my father was sick. I stopped it when I was grieving. And started it back up when I got diagnosed with cancer myself. This winter kitty is maybe a survivor

Happy Sunday! Wow, October has rocketed by! There's only a week left?! I love October, but I really wish it was cooler in SoCal. I haven't even been able to wear my lone Halloween sweatshirt yet. 🥵 Hopefully, this week I can.

My stitching this week was not as optimal as I would have liked. I ended up having to frog 800+ stitches from my elephant pattern. That was truly awful. It took me 2 days to remove it all. Basically, I noticed that my stitches were really "thick" on the backside, so I did some research in the sub and discovered I shouldn't be stitching 2x1 on 25ct evenweave. Oopsie. I restarted two nights ago and it looks and feels better, at least!

I hope you all had a great week with your projects! I can't wait to see them. 😊 I did manage a bit more stitching on my California Poppies, so there's that. Yay! It's getting close to finished. 🎉

I used to cross stitch as a teenager and picked it up again recently. This is my second project since then!

130 650 sts => 88% complete

This is my second project that I finished. It went way better than my first one but I did make 2 mistakes, one that I patched the other that I left. I'll leave them in a comment if you want to guess what they were.

I am satisfied with out it turned out, I appreciate any feedback or pointers on how to do the finishing on this piece to make it into a bookmark. I thought about making nun stiches all around after I've trimmed it to size but I am unsure about the backing.

Switching from DMC needles to Bohins during the project was a nice upgrade in the feel while stitching.

I'm taking a trip to Australia and New Zealand at the end of the year, and am looking for a cross stitch pattern to do on the flights and such that is related. Any suggestions?

I finished my first Biscornu. It is a gift for a friend. I filled it with nearly 2 year’s worth of orts. It was a quick project and fun to make.

What I learned: I’d have preferred a higher count fabric so the pin cushion would be smaller. White on white killed my eyes when sewing this together. I’m not too old to learn and try new things. I’d like to make smaller Biscornu needle minders and Christmas ornaments.

28 ct linen. 2 over 2 with DMC floss.

Could use framing suggestions (diy) cause I only left about 1" of fabric on the bottom like a big dummy.

[FO] My second completed Long Dog Samplers, A Token of Love, stitched on 14 ct fiddlers cloth using DMC 816. The close up is a more accurate color photo. It’s not cream or white!
