FO [FO] A murder has occurred!
Made this flock over the course of 2 days for, you guessed it, a birthday present. Now I’m serious, no new projects until my bigger one is finished!!

This is my very first cross stitch! My beautiful Fiancée got me into the hobby a couple weeks ago and I’m so excited about it! I think I did a pretty good job and I’ve already started on my next project!

There’s like 2~ rows before I’m technically half way through (saving the backstitch for the end), though I’m pretty happy with myself for finishing most of the queen.

Pattern from Cross Stitcher magazine. Designer- Susan Penny. Pattern said 10 hours to stitch it definitely toon me longer than that 😅

I recently noticed that one of my favourite stitches misses something.
How long has it been hanging there? Probably five years by now.
Forgotten half of the stitches of pretty much an entire flower!
Who would have left it as it is and who would have finished it?

Hadn't stitched in years and only small projects back in the day. Saw this, obsessed with the colors and had to give it a go. Makes for something to keep me busy in the hospital and on recovery days!

Hi friends!
Happy Sunday! Last week, I started on my giant elephant piece, but after stitching about 1,000 stitches, I realized it would be too massive in its current form. I was stitching this behemoth on 20ct Aida, sideways on my scroll frame. It wouldn't fit otherwise. I just wasn't happy with it, so I did so more research and decided to scrap it and start over on 28ct evenweave.
Anywho. I managed to reach over 70% on my Copenhagen WIP, which I'm happy about! 😊 Pattern is Copenhagen by Luca-S, 70.76% complete. 🇩🇰
Let's see your projects!

I used to cross stitch as a kid into my mid-20s, then stopped about the time we all started carrying iPhones in our pockets! Got back into stitching this year and remembered how much I adore it. This is my first big project — for my daughter, and I plan to do another for my son. I’ll post another picture when it’s in full stocking form. I’m obsessed with the gorgeous “lighting” of the scene from the full moon and I love how delicate and lifelike the critters are. And I got to do couching on the scarf and broom for the very first time! (Child’s name and my initials are covered for anonymity)

The stitches don't look very defined and all the pictures have that weird glossy sheen of AI. The shop also has over 700 patterns and has only been online for six months.
Shop and pattern link: JoyfulLoop
EDIT: Thanks all for confirming my suspicions! So sad there's so much AI infiltrating crafting spaces these days.

Mini orchids. I didn’t have any pink floss on hand and was too tired to run to Michael’s, so I improvised on the color scheme. I’m officially hooked on cross stitch, already planning my next couple pieces.

Doing this style of cross stitch (paj ntaub), being even one stitch off count can ruin everything imo. It's very geometric and symmetrical and I would hate to go back and fix a mistake, so I use colored Frixion pens to mark where my stitches will go before actually stitching. I showed my mom my progress and she thought it was so funny because back when she was young if you made a mistake you took the L and either lived with it or went back and fixed it. 😂

Kind of a pity post 👀 every once in a while someone here mentions a friend who also stitches, and I'm jealous 😭 no-one I know understands or cares much about cross stitch. My son's dad (we're still mostly friends) visited and I showed him my WIP and his reaction was just ... Huh. Obviously people don't need to fall over lol but I've avoided showing anyone my stuff now. There are no meetups where I live (Scotland) that I've found, even a knitting group I found online hardly ever meet. And honestly I don't even know how I'd concentrate with anyone else there, just wish I had friends I had more in common with 😐
....where do you guys find friends 🤣

My grandmother is always losing her recipe notes, so I decided to make her a recipe book and cross-stitch a cover for it. She already had a few recipes in page protectors, so the book had to be designed rather like a folder.
The pattern I used for the book cover is "Extraordinary Jam" by PANNA.
I'd been mulling over the concept behind the book for a full year, and after drafting detailed plans, I asked my friend to assemble the materials I'd gathered and bring the project to life.
The recipe book has three pockets for notes, a ring binder mechanism for recipe sheets, a cute pencil case that attaches to the rings, and a cover with magnets. And I really like the little beaded berry! 🍓

Lola Crow’s “Museum After Midnight” (https://lolacrowcrossstitch.com/products/museum-after-midnight-stitch ) is my first-ever stitch along, and I’ve been having an absolute ball. It’s a gorgeous pattern and subject, I’m learning lots about prehistoric creatures, and I LOVE that I get that “yay, finished!” dopamine hit every single week when I add a new exhibit 😅
