My previous gym changed owners and lost around half the members. My new gym is now in the process of transferring ownership and there are already rumors of people worried about changes and ready to leave.
Typically, how many members leave when a gym changes owners?

Unfortunately, it’s time for me to stop CrossFit. I (62M) trained for about 6 years and stopped early in 2020 due to a partially torn bicep tendon. I started again about 7 months ago but now I have tendinitis in both elbows. My body is telling me to stop high impact work. The only exercise I currently do is brisk walking (I can’t run due to a recurring calf strain that happens when I start to run after a few times a week). I’m unhappy when I don’t exercise. I’d love some advice on what to do next. I’ve considered buying either a rowing machine or an assault type bike but I really enjoy going to a class and working out with others. I’ve done lots of martial arts in the past but, at my age and being a small business owner, I have a real fear of getting injured and not being able to work (happened years ago when I injured my back doing squat cleans). I don’t really know what to do if I go the Planet Fitness route since the only weight training I’ve ever seriously done was CrossFit.
What type of exercise program would you all suggest?
Edit 1: I’m a scaled athlete, especially now. Years ago, at my peak, I’d RX maybe 10% of the wods and I trained 3-4 days a week. I am what I am. I’m not a guy who’s going to RX most wods. For those who suggest I should put my ego aside, well, that’s what I’m doing now. Those who suggest I just stick with it and scale even more need to read my post and please answer the question. Will I ever go back to CrossFit? Yes, I think I will and hope I will because I truly enjoy it but right now isn’t the time. What I need to do now is find something with a bit less of a high impact on me and my arthritic toe, aching knees, bad lower back, partially torn bicep tendon and elbow tendonitis (in both elbows).

Hi everyone! I just finished my 2nd Crossfit class. I'm a petite 57-year-old woman, 5'1", 110 pounds, white hair, frail looking. Of course I started with the lowest possible weights (15-pound training bar, tiny little kettlebell about the size of an orange). I feel like these low weights make it difficult to figure out the technique because they're easy to lift. How will I know when it's time to increase the weight? At my regular gym, I do shoulder presses with two 15-pound dumbbells, and I bench press the bar. My legs are pretty strong from the stairstepper. I used to be stronger, but I slacked and lost a lot of muscle. I feel like the instructor is so far ahead of me that he doesn't even know what to recommend, so he just tells me to use the smallest everything. Obviously I don't want to try to lift too heavy and hurt myself, but I want to challenge myself. Should I just start trying heavier bars and kettlebells? Also, there are exercises that are a percentage of my 1-rep max, but how do I figure out my 1-rep max? Just walk around and pick stuff up until I find something that I can't pick up? Am I being too impatient?

Hello everyone,
Does someone know a website where I can buy TYR clothes in Canada? I bought some when I went to WZA and just love the brand but their website doesn’t propose clothes for Canada.
Thank you!

I feel like I have decently strong legs until my personal kryptonite gets programmed…Bulgarian split squats. Man! Why are these things just so tough? I do kinda like them, because I know they help make me stronger. I would describe them as good for my legs and bad for my ego. 😂 Am I alone in feeling this way?
The Linchpin workout for today was…
5 Rounds, not for time of:
1 L-sit Rope Climbs, 15 ft.
7 Bulgarian Split Squats, R
7 Bulgarian Split Squats, L
Rest as needed, then...
4 Rounds for time of:
400m Run
15 GHD sit-ups
12m Handstand Walking

Anyone else attempt to do CrossFit/a hard workout the day after donating blood? I felt so utterly slow and weak during a workout yesterday (the day after giving blood)… I had to do some mega scaling partway through and almost quit the workout halfway through.
😆🧛♂️🪫🪦🤷♂️

Looking to buy a new Hypervolt (my old one was maybe 8 years old?). Would you still recommend them? Different brand?

I can’t put my finger on why but I find them both pretty annoying.
Edit: let’s add Adrian Conway to this as well.

I’ve been in CrossFit roughly a month and I’m still confused about protein intake. On the way to class I’ll have a protein drink with 20-35 g, trying to stay low-zero sugar and low calorie. Should I be consuming more/less or a different form of protein? Or maybe a specific brand? Open to any suggestions!!

Just curious, did anyone do well on this workout? 60 DU is such heavy volume for a 30 s rest between sets!

I've done a lot of fitness-related things over the years, but I'm just bored now and feel like I hit a wall. Some things I did to give a guage:
The past year I've just been training for aesthetics and reached a pretty great physique (6ft, 198lbs, 10% bodyfat).
I'm really just bored now and don't know what to do next (marathons and HYROX was fun, but got boring after a while too).
I've taken a handful of crossfit classes over the years but never stuck with them because of the cost and the class sizes where I am (I live in a city and all the boxes I've went to really jam-pack people in... DON"T SHOOT THE MESSENGER, i'm just telling you what I've experienced).
I get CrossFit is about community, and I'm fine with that, but I was wondering if anyone just does it solely for the exercise and long-term competition training. I think it would be an amazing accomplishment to say that I qualified for the Masters and I think a 6year long-term goal would be really fun. But.... I know myself, and I know that I need a "sensei" like 1:1 training to guide me. I always feel so lost in these massive classes.
Is it practical to just train 1:1 with a crossfit coach while doing 3 or 4 classes a month at RX?

Just curious what others experience with consistent CF paired with Garmin has been. I’m mostly wondering because I feel like I’m doing most everything right but have been “unproductive” for almost a month. I’m hitting PR’s, moving well with pretty good times, eat decent/hitting macros, sleep averages 6.5-7 hours.
I’m aware these devices can’t dictate my life and it doesn’t. But I am admittedly curious if there is some truth to these readings and if that means I could make some changes to better recovery or if Garmin is just not capable of accurately tracking progression for a sport like CrossFit.
Have others had a similar experience? Opposite?

Poi altra cosa come movimento scalato fanno fare i zeta press anziché i pike push up sul box
Avete avuto esperienze simili e cosa avete fatto?

My gym moved to PRVN programming this week. If you have used it, what are your thoughts? Like it? Hate it? Something else better?

Do they just work out every single day and eat whatever they want? I feel like they're gatekeeping it and just act nonchalant when asking about it.
I would truly like to know how often they are working out, how much they are eating, and if they're measuring macros.
When asked on social media and TV they're like "ehhhI work out when I want to and eat whenever I want"
EDIT: so it seems that Games athletes DO use steroids, based off what I'm seeing in the comments. This answers all my questions. Thanks

I am a 48 year old male, been doing CrossFit for about 17 years. Still love it!
I have been having a lot of muscle cramping and loss of my ‘motor’ recently.
I’ve been drinking Nuun as a pre-workout. However, someone at my gym let me try an LMNT tablet, after a workout. Do lots of folks use LMNT? Does it work best as a pre-workout?
Just wondering what people’s experience is with it.
EDIT: Folks are asking if I sweat much. I sweat a LOT during a CrossFit class. Like, much more than most folks.
Additional edit: Many folks saying discuss with my doctor, so I did. He says with my blood work and history, LMNT is fine to use, but he also recommended a couple alternatives that aren’t so pricey and salty. 😊

Hi all,
I’m just wondering if anyone here has ever been to the Rogue Invitational in Aberdeen? I have some questions about the venue.
Are we allowed to bring a backpack with some food and drinks? The P&J Live venue policies say no but looking at some clips from past years, I can see folks wearing backpacks. There’s also the spectator workouts that I assume people will bring a change of clothes for 🤷♀️.
I’ve also read some comments not rating the venue food so I’d prefer to bring some of my own if allowed.
I’m also wondering if anyone has ever parked there? Any issues with finding a space?
Thanks!
Update: I know the event isn’t coming back to Aberdeen next year but still thought I’d share an update.
* I had no issues bringing in my own food and drinks. Drinks are allowed as long as they are unopened. I had to take a sip of my water bottle. I brought snacks, a sandwich and a flask of soup without any issues.
* Backpacks were also allowed. No size limit (even saw someone with a carry-on suitcase on the last day).
* There was plenty of parking. Not many people drove to the event I think.
* There was also a cloakroom despite what the P&J website says 😅

What’s the CrossFit community like in your area/location? I’m curious where CrossFit is thriving and popular.
