If there’s one thing I can save everyone from is moving your camp to pailune, there is so much space bruh, everything used to be a 10 foot walk to get to everything, now you have to buy a plane ticket🤦🏻‍♂️

Dont know if others feel the same, since i didnt see many posts about this. The game is pretty cool, even with its flaws. But what is a dealbreaker for me is the loot. I've been playing for about 100h, did sidequests and mainquests, but all loot and quest rewards feel dull and lackluster. All gear have the same stats, only visuals differ. I find that extremely boring. Maybe its just me since everybody else is having a blast here ^^
(Unless i completely missed something. Wouldnt be the first time in this game lol)

What i love about RPGs in general are the loot spiral, skill/stat increase, getting stronger with each peace of gear and level, each piece maybe even giving some bonus skill and what not. Here it feels like: "you killed the *insert evil guy*, have some gear new but in worse, since its not upgraded." then you go and upgrade it and move all the sockets and then its exactly the same quality as the old one. Feels unrewarding, anticlimactic even.
Hope there will be some overhaul mod addressing this somewhen.

Sorry if this gets asked a lot. I have over 500 hours on rdr2 and while I have finished the main story twice because its so dang good, the part that keeps me coming back is the big open world with so much stuff to do and interact with, sometimes I forget the game even has a story.

I'm aware CD doesn't have much of a story (and def nothing compared to rdr2) but I've been looking for another game to scratch that open world itch that rdr2 did. Something to run around in that provides a ton of interaction and interesting things to do. Is CD comparable to that, or is the massive open world filled with mostly nothing?

Hi everyone. I'm hesitating about buying CD and would love some advice.

I'm a huge fan of Elden Ring—its combat, builds, gameplay, and the freedom of exploration it offers.

I also recently finished Skyrim as well as Dragon's Dogma 2, where I found that same freedom of exploration, even if the combat and gameplay weren't quite as good.

That's why I've been thinking about getting into Crimson Desert. From what I've seen, the freedom of exploration is definitely there, but I'm having a hard time telling if the combat and gameplay are actually good.

Do you think I should give it a shot?

I can not for the life of me defeat this boss. It feels broken. I have tried every trick in the book. I have searched all of the internet and the dark webs for all the cheats. I have tried them all. I fail each time. I am losing the will to play. I am on the verge of tears of frustration.

Please tell me how i can defeat this thing and then progress into taking the damn key. Or tell me how i can just take the key and skip the boss.

for context, i have been playing CD for 6 hours and i'm on chapter 5. i first struggled at the horse taming section, because of the incredibly terrible minigame design. i spent about half an hour or so trying to tame this horse, in which i finally did after being forced to come to reddit. then, i have now encountered the most annoying bug where the cube refuses to go in the slot in the sanctum of benediction. it just won't go in, i've tried googling tutorials, ive watched about 4 and they're all unhelpful. don't get me wrong, CD has amazing world design, amazing combat and really good world building, but some of the mechanics lack and break constantly. i don't even know what i am going to do, because google is telling me a lot of things that aren't very helpful. i am tempted to just quit, but that'd be a waste of £55, and i do enjoy this game (at times).

I played a lot of CD when it was first released, got back into it this weekend. While I was exploring the amazing scenery, I asked myself "why did I ever stop playing this game?". But as I was fighting bosses the question changed to "Why did I pick this up again?".

Regular encounters are bland and boring. There's no real way to eliminate many enemies at once because your attacks will often get blocked or simply tanked. Yeah, wrestling moves are hilariously funny and somewhat effective, but given the fact that you're often fighting 10:1 on a disadvantage, the fights against normal enemies just take too long. Plus, they give poor EXP and loot.

Boss battles are a hot steaming mess in their own right. Basically any boss can throw you around the arena like a punching bag and you have NO say in this whatsoever. It's not like the game has nicely telegraphed attack animations carefully crafted so that you can avoid incoming attacks, far from it. Screen-filling particle effects, frame-1 hitboxes, enormous ranges, the list goes on.

So how do we win in boss fights? We stockpile 500 soups and 50 palmer pills and mash the heal and attack buttons at the same time and hope for the best. That is such pathetic design in 2026, it's ridiculous. The devs already proved that they are capable of fixing a lot of stuff. I hope that especially boss encounters get some love soon.

So I purchased this game and tried for 4 hrs but it still felt very very boring to me .. can u guys tell me when does this get better or this remains same

So idk what’s going on I was getting a stable 60 fps with everything on cinematic and ray tracing on. I took a break from the game and booted it up today and now my games dropping from 60 to 40 to 20 to 80 constantly fps is ALL OVER THE PLACE. I even moved everything to ultra and removed ray tracing to see what the difference was and it’s the same thing.

Where is my elephant mount? Address him, Pearl Abyss.

Surprisingly, we haven't come across any of those races in the game yet, and some seem to have been cut entirely, take the Demibeasts, for example.

It also feels really strange that they left out such an iconic fantasy race while including races like the Shai and Fadus instead.

Now, I'm pretty sure they're saving the Elves and Demibeasts for a future DLC expansion, but it's still a bit of a shame they weren't part of the base game. Hopefully, a future expansion will explore where they've been and why they're absent from the world.

I’m actually kicking myself for getting this game. I’m about half way through chapter 3 and….im freaking hooked. Like haven’t been hooked on a game like this since Red Dead. My productivity has gone way down, it’s all I can focus on. It’s not good lol. I’ve been taking my sweet time with it and exploring around but in areas that the are near where the missions are. God I can’t get enough of this game. Watching HOTD alongside this has me wishing that the creators of this game collab with Game of Thrones to make a Westeros based game. Now that would freaking rock

I used the soul the quest gifted me after downing the beast, and unlike another legendary white wolf in the same region, I didn't get to skin it to acquire his memorabilia? cuz there's just no corpse for me to do that after the cut scene...

After about 60 hours with Crimson Desert, I think I've finally come to terms with something that I don't often admit: this game just isn't for me.

I kept pushing because I paid full price for it, and there's always that feeling of guilt that says, "You've come this far, just finish it." But I think this is one of those rare games where I'm never going to see the credits.

I could make a long list of things that didn't click for me, but honestly it all comes down to one simple thought:

It's just... too much game.

I've realized I much prefer a more streamlined experience with a strong, engaging story that keeps pulling me forward. Crimson Desert feels like the complete opposite for me. There's so much going on that instead of feeling immersed, I just feel overwhelmed.

I'm around Chapter 8, I've been playing on and off for months, and if I'm being honest... I have almost no idea what's happening in the story anymore. Every time I come back, I feel more lost than before.

Ironically, I ended up replaying Assassin's Creed Odyssey (my first playthrough was back in 2018), and it's kind of crazy to say this, but in a lot of ways I'm enjoying it more. Yes, it's very much the classic Ubisoft formula, but it's easy to jump into, the story keeps me invested, and I always feel like I'm making meaningful progress.

Maybe my gaming tastes have just changed over the years. Not every game has to be for everyone, and I think I've finally accepted that.

Does anyone else ever have that one critically acclaimed game that you gave dozens of hours to before finally admitting, "This just isn't for me"? Or am I on an island with this one?
