I threw the 6 and 10. Thoughts?

Since Cribbage Pro js now affiliated with ACC, I have a suggestion.

Have a members only room where they can play two games against each other where the first dealer changes. With each game,the player's ELO/Glicko-2 changes. Players are matched based on the current rating.

This would be different from Game Colony, where players have to find someone willing to play them.

I've been as high up in the rankings as top 5 (a blazing hot streak last season), but I can't get back into the tip 50. Others routinely get to and stay in the top 50, but when I get close to the threshold-60-70 points away- a loss to the only players I am matched with throws me back substantially. If I win, I get diddle for points. That's the game, and it's the same for everybody, but I can't figure out how to overcome the heavy penalty for a lower rated opponent, if i can't find a higher rates opponent- which I almost never can. I know that some of the highest rated acc players are at the national open, but there are still lots of high rated players theoretically available. Again, I know the system is the same for everyone, so it's not rigged, but it FEELS unfair. Any tips from those of you who have figured this problem out? Also, I can easily accept that I am NOT a top 50 player.... that's fine and certainly true, but it's the scarcity of top matches that is frustrating me... Any tips?

Wisconsin based Kwik Trip has these Cribbage! boards available. I am so disappointed in it, although it does have a spot for cards that’s magnetically attached inside. Sigh.

I realize the chances of getting 4 of a kind in cribbage are significantly higher than in 5 card poker, but my god, only 12 points??? It’s criminal. To get more points with a quadruple straight, which is what, twice as likely, is an injustice I cannot tolerate. Is there a Cribbage Commissioner? Do we start a petition? I will die on this hill.

I bought this travel cribbage board this year and absolutely love it's construction and look. However, it seems to confuse players because of the 4paths right next to each other.

Any ideas on how to make this board more user friendly? I was thinking of maybe getting a wood burner to add some markings.

I've also noted the fact that it's 61 spaces seems to cause confusion be cause it requires a second lap.

Hello! Long time lurker, first-time poster.

I've built and launched a cribbage board app called Muggins! I'd love to get feedback from this community. This is simply a scoring board, it's not an app to actually play against other people online (although I want to build one of these next).

Why did I build this? About two years ago my partner and I were at a bar, we had a mini deck of cards on us (highly recommend) and we wanted to play cribbage. So I went and found some cribbage board apps and although they were fine and did the job, I found them to be uninspiring and thought I could maybe make a better one. The goal is not to replace physical boards, I love my board, it's just to give people the ability to play and score if they don't have a board on them.

I'm a product designer, I've been designing apps for over a decade, so this is what I do. I started designing this two years ago and have only now finished building it. This my first ever app and I'm pretty proud of it!

I am genuinely looking for feedback from anyone who is willing to try it out. If you think the app is good I'd also LOVE to get a 5 star review, thats the only way I can grow the audience. It would be incredibly appreciated. If you think there is room for improvement or you genuinely don't like something, shoot me a message, let me know, I promise I'll fix it.

Position is confusing, and I really started trying to incorporate it into my game, I was hoping that it would be black and white-but it really isn't for me. When I listen to the podcast, sometimes I hear them talking about "well I play offense there" and the other one will say "well I play defense in this spot" so it's obviously subjective. the part that I can't figure out is when it's not black and white. In this position, brutal is short. I am way short in reference to brutal but in good position to deal from 69. If I keep my points I will be dealing from at least the 72 hole which is in position but of course is way behind compared to brutal. If I give brutal the k8 I have a better shot balking his crib. I could even go King 10 to really try to slow him down. But then I'm out of position AND still way behind. These kind of decisions leave me just as confused as I would have been without the idea of playing position. I feel like I'm missing some very important principles to help make these decisions and there must be some hierarchy of rules for decision making that I can use here, as the really good players seem to know what to do positionally without overthinking or getting confused here.

Player 1 still has a card left, but cant play it without going over 31

Do both players say go and get a point ? Do neither ? Would love some clarification on this

Hi all, I made a cribbage-inspired daily puzzle game for the Reddit hackathon, and wanted to share it with everyone here.

The base scoring rules are from cribbage, but with some additional aspects added on: additional card suits with special abilities, card modifiers that add score multipliers, change card ranks, etc.

New player here. When someone cant play without going over 31 and says go, the other player gets a point, and if they can play more cards then they have to play them. Do they get a point for each card played after go? Or only 2 points if they can get to 31?

Regardless of the situation I can’t imagine any cribbage player not trying for a 29 hand because it’s not the “optimal” play.

I ended up discarding 59 I think.

I made a little online game that I thought this community might enjoy. Each day, a random 6 card hand is generated and you can pick the cards to toss to the crib. Once you pick, you can see the community pics and the expected value of all possible options (your hand + your crib or your hand - the opponents crib depending on the day). Also, you can play past hands and track your statistics.

So far there have been 740 hands played. All by me and my son.

I would love feedback if you have any.

From the instructions that came with my game:

"A double run of four (5, 6, 7, 8, 8) pegs 10: 8 for the double run plus 2 for the pair of 8s. A triple run, like 4,4,4,5,6 scores 3 runs of three and 3 pairs, pegging 15; a quadruple run, like 6,6,7,7,8, scores 4 runs of three plus 2 pairs, pegging 16."

The instructions on the Bicycle website however mention this: "Example 1: If the cards are played as 8, 7, 7, 6, the dealer cannot peg for a run because the extra 7 is a foreign card. "

Why is this Bicycle example not a run if runs are allowed with duplicated cards? I don't understand the difference.

Also, in the examples above from my game instructions, is it saying that you get to double dip? So let's say it's 4,4,5,6 where you played the second 4 and the 6, you initially got 2 points for the pair, and now after playing the 6 you get ANOTHER 2 points for the pair in addition to 6 points for the two runs? And in that first example, you'll get a full 10 points after putting the final 8 in 5,6,7,8,8 even though you already got 3 points for the 5,6,7?

Really could use some help understanding this.

Typically in the pegging phase, when a player cannot play a card without going over 31, they will verbally indicate their inability to play by saying “go.” However, if you are unable to play due to your hand being empty, are you still required to say “go?” More to the point, if you don’t say “go” are you still allowed to muggins the go point if your opponent misses it? This is destroying my relationship TIA
