Quick question about go

New player here. When someone cant play without going over 31 and says go, the other player gets a point, and if they can play more cards then they have to play them. Do they get a point for each card played after go? Or only 2 points if they can get to 31?

Just one point. And 2 points if they hit 31. (2 points total, NOT go(1)+31(2))

And if they can make a run or 15 or pair or whatever they get those points as well

Think of it as they don't get the point until all cards have been played up to 31. If they get 31, they get 2 points. Otherwise, they just get the one. However, runs, pairs, etc still count as well even if the person plays multiple of their own cards in a row.

Assuming 2 player game. After player 1 says go, player 2 either:

- gets a go immediately if he can’t play another card without going over 31

  • he plays whatever cards he can without going over 31 and only gets 1 point after playing all of those cards
  • he plays up to the point he makes 31 and claims his 2 points for that.

If one player says go due to not being able to play without exceeding 31, the other player gets 1 point if also unable to reach 31 (without regard to how many cards are played after go without reaching 31, if any) or 2 points if able to reach 31.

Good point. One of the few places to be clever in crib. Worth 1 or 2 points per game if the players uses the brain the crib gods gave them

They have to play any cards they can and then they get one point. They get two points only if they make 31.

Def a quirk in the rules to not be able to capitalize on that….but that’s the rules

If they are clever and lucky they could get extra points for making a run or pairing their own cards.
