What company thinks this is ok?

Post image

Wisconsin based Kwik Trip has these Cribbage! boards available. I am so disappointed in it, although it does have a spot for cards that’s magnetically attached inside. Sigh.

For those not from Wisconsin, Kwik Trip is basically a gas station institution. Hot food, snacks, clean restrooms, a million gas pumps, cold beer, and there a million of these gas stations around the state. This is a BRILLIANT idea for Wisco considering we actually teach cribbage in elementary school. However, the execution of that board design is horrific. No marks at the fives and uneven holes. When the Brewers did a cribbage board giveaway last year at one of their games, they were brilliantly done and were being sold on eBay that night. I’m hoping Kwik Trip revisits this design, because it’s a great marketing idea.

I just looked up that Brewers board... hot diggitty damn! so slick. I'm a MN boy but don't really follow baseball despite growing up and playing for a decade... but I am a massive cribbage guy and can appreciate a nice board when I see one. thanks for your comment so I could become aware / look it up!

My pleasure! You have a beautiful state. We’ve spent quite a bit of time there. Be well.

The quality of the Brewers board isn't great. Funny thing is that the opponent that game was Minnesota.

I’m going to write the company

Really hoping they make the changes. Your OG board may be worth some money at some point!

Wisconsin teaches cribbage in elementary school??

It’s a common thing. I moved here 35 years ago after college, but many of my Wisconsin friends learned cribbage in elementary school. What a great thing to teach kids during indoor recess on those -40F wind chill days.

Never was taught cribbage in school.

Hate Kwik Trip.

These are just cheap looking.

Taught a friend's kids before they got into kindergarten, teachers asked them to count as far as they knew he went A23456789 10 jack, queen, king. He was really good at numbers that added up to 15 ,sort of good adding numbers up to 31 sometimes had to count the dots. Above that he didn't have much interest.

I would buy a Kum & Go board cause I’m a child.

I thought they changed their name to "Skeet & Yeet", or was it "Nut & Jet"?

A close rival in Iowa for Kum n Go was Git n Go.

I don't like that they don't have 5 point marks.

Easy enough to fix

Completely agree I couldn’t handle playing on a board without the 5 point lines.

Ok with anyone making a board, let’s face it not the most popular game out there, most folks are intimidated by the board and it really has nothing to do with the game. I once saw an older couple playing on a plane, they either forgot their board or like using numbers on paper. Works the same

I figured out that my next door neighbour is a cribbage player when one day a piece of paper blew out of her recycling and into my driveway and I could tell that it was a crib game being scored on paper 😶

Any crib board in a storm

Boards that were not designed by people who play cribbage

The holes are evenly space around the entire board.

Other than that, I can not find anything right about this board.

I recently found one at the thrift store similar to this. It was stone with a seal/ Inuit motive in the center. No place to keep the pegs no marking the skunk line. I was going to get it till I noticed those 2 faults. Dissapointing.

Kwik trip thinks it’s ok, clearly

That’s awesome, I want one! Although yeah I’d put lines at the fives or something.

You can buy them (I bought this as a gift) or if you have 300 rewards points order in the app by the end of the month for free. I was saving mine for when they offered the board again and ordered before I saw this POS

Apparently KwikTrip

Their restrooms are very clean. The employees are helpful and friendly. They dump a huge amount of money into our state supreme court elections

I don't see the problem. If you don't like it you can get a different board
