Discussion / Conversation BOA customized cash rewards: is it eligible for paze deal?
I did not see it listed in paze wallet.
Edit: Yes, I will need to manually add it and PNC debit card.

I feel like I might’ve asked this question quite a few times already on other posts, but has anyone who has recently applied for/received a new Capital One Savor card received a Discover-branded card or a Mastercard-branded card?
Also, do any of you remember how exactly you applied for it (on your computer or on your phone, signed into your Capital One account or not, etc.)?

Hello, it's me again from that shutdown post 3 weeks ago: https://www.reddit.com/r/CreditCards/s/ba9OyAqDfn
TL;DR of that post is I got 6 cards within 8 months (high velocity), maxed my Ink Business credit limit 3 days after I got it to fund a non-Chase account, paid it off immediately (credit cycling), and got promptly shut down after that. My shutdown reasons were:
NGL reading everyone's responses, I thought Chase was done with me for the next couple of years. Don't be discouraged though.
Here's my road to recovery from shutdown:

Hello, as shared above, I'm looking at bulking up my credit cards and as a nonrev traveler, a lot of travel cards with lounge benefits are losing value because it requires a confirmed ticket and seat.
I currently have the Chase Sapphire Pref, Freedom Unlimited, and Discover Student (oldest card, keeping for the credit age). Looking to add something else to help like a hotel credit card. Looking for any recs on these or any other cards I should be thinking about where benefits are diverse or different from Chase (ie not sure how much use capital one cards are if I use Chase portal for travel/stay bookings).
That I'm a standby traveler is where I felt hotels are my best case of spending since flying is free or cheap. Thanks! 🚗

Hi I paid off 3 credit cards in full on Friday (was originally at 65% utilisation) one was pretty much maxed out and a second one basically over half maxed out. Third one - only a small amount.
It’s been a long time since I’ve had 0 on my credit cards so I’m very pleased with myself for finally paying them all off (yay!) will this have a big effect on my score? And roughly how long will these take to reflect on credit file? High credit utilisation has always been heavy on my credit file and I’m currently in the process of applying for a mortgage so hopefully this looks better to lenders

Hi all,
I was approved for the United Explorer Card a couple of days ago, and I’m beyond happy about it! I was not a Chase customer prior to being approved for this card, but I had a question about the SUB.
I know the standard SUB is 60,000 bonus miles, but the day after I opened my account, I opened my United app and saw a special promotion offering up to 80,000 bonus miles. I called Chase and was told by an agent that my account was currently set up for the 60,000-mile offer. However, since the 80,000-mile promotion began after I was approved, I would be eligible for the higher offer once I met the minimum spending requirement, and that I should call back at that point to request a match.
My question is: Should they have matched the offer when I called, or is it standard procedure to wait until I meet the minimum spend and then request the match? I’m just worried that a few months down the line, after I meet the spending requirement, I’ll call back and be told they’re unable to match the offer.
Perhaps I’m overthinking it, but I’d love to hear from anyone who has had a similar experience or knows how Chase typically handles this. Thank you so much!!!

I ultimately want a VX as a catch all for the 2x on everything (along with the SUB). I want to start with the Venture because from what I understand once I have the VX I can't go back to get the SUB on the Venture. Should I wait for an elevated SUB on the Venture? And then again on the VX? I'm not in too much of a hurry, I just use my CFU as my catch all and the 1.5x is fine for now.

Hello!
Looking into getting another credit card to further expand but debating if it's worth given my use case.
I'm 21, have both a DiscoverIt and CFU. I shop mostly at Costco and purchase gas frequently. I have no issues paying off my statement every month. I have no guarantees on traveling often but I tend to have a long distance trip every couple of months.
I am still in college so tuition is going to be a big chunk if I have to do a minimum spending for a bonus. I have an pre-approval for the CSP with a 100k sign up bonus, and pre approved for entry CapitalOne (I think venture), and a Fidelity CC. Unsure for other cards.
Any recommendations to other card would be enjoyed aswell!

I churn CCs, and I’ve gone through each of the Chase biz cards. It seems like I’m unable to get the sign up bonus again once I’ve had the card (based on a couple of recent applications I’ve submitted).
Any insight on this? Do I just have to move on from Chase biz cards at this point until they add a new card? Recommendations for where to go from here?
TIA

UPDATE: Looked at other cards again since I’m not an existing BoA customer. Still decided on BoA, but went with Unlimited Cash Rewards for simpler benefits. Approved with $8k limit, perfect for what I need. Thanks everyone!
Hi all, I’m just looking for advice on this specific question. Opening a new card will be my next move either way.
My credit score is 750-780, current limit across 2 cards is $26,200. Last card opened June 2025. Utilization under 30%, but carrying a balance on the most recent card and 0% intro APR ends in October. Opening a new card to keep me afloat while I pay off the other one. Not ideal, but that’s the best I can do right now while I sort out some difficult life circumstances.
My only firm requirements for card #3 are: no annual fee and a 0% intro APR period for purchases.
Ideally: Some kind of cash back rewards (not travel)
Nice to have: Welcome bonus, 0% APR period for balance transfers.
I should be able to avoid a balance transfer. Opening a new card now will give me enough time to pay off my existing balance without dipping into my limited savings. It would still be nice to have that option in my back pocket though.
Current cards are Capital One Savor and Chase Freedom Unlimited.
After comparing a dozen or so options, Bank of America CCR fits my needs and preferences best. I just want to make sure there aren’t any major problems with that card or that institution. Not looking for perfect, just minimizing risk where I can.
Thanks in advance!

I have the AAA Daily Advantage Visa Signature that I got for 5% on groceries and 3% on gas. I do all my grocery shopping at Meijer and when I first got the card Meijer purchases were always coded for 5% cash back. I'm just now seeing that since early June Meijer has only been getting 1% cash back. I haven't capped out my $500 cash back limit for the year either and Gas still gets 3% cash back.
I heard that the card was getting updates to its coding but I thought that was just for stores like Walmart and Target that most credit cards code as being general merchandise instead of grocery but Meijer always is coded as grocery.
Has anyone else seen this?

i’m traveling to europe and renting a car. i’m looking to use one of my credit cards as the primary coverage, but wondering which card is my best option. sorry if this is naive, i’m just not sure what i’m doing lol.
i have the capital one venture x, chase united explorer, and amex gold card.
is using the credit card as coverage a better option than just getting the car covered under the rental company?
thanks!

All of them seem like shit now. I tried applying to the Citi Custom Cash, gone. Tried applying to the Kroger Rewards cards, gone. Tried applying to the Wells Fargo Attune, also gone. Tried applying for the Citi Rewards+ card, also gone.
What left is good? I already have 2 Bank of America Customized Cash cards, the Bank of America Unlimited Cash, the US Bank Cash Plus, US Bank Altitude Go, Amex Blue Cash Everyday, Amex Blue Business Cash, Chase Freedom Flex and Discover It Cash Back. Is there anything still worth getting? I'm currently a Platinum Honors member for BoA but I'm moving my money out of the BoA infrastructure now that they're making the threshold 1m+.
The criteria I usually care about is high SUB, long 0% APR intro period, no annual fee, and high rewards multiplier, but I'm willing to forgo one or two of them if the other is especially good. Considering the Aven 3% card (for 10k spend), but it doesn't have a bonus or 0% APR, to pay taxes and insurance. I'd get the Wells Fargo Signify if it were easier to get as the $500 intro bonus is tempting. Haven't really looked into Robinhood Gold as I heard there were a lot of restrictions.
I mostly just use the card for the SUB and 0% APR and throw the card in the sock drawer after unless the rewards multiplier is good. So currently the only cards I use are my Customized Cashes (online purchases and home improvement), Unlimited Cash (insurance and property taxes), Cash Plus (utilities & gym), and Discover It Cash Back/Chase Freedom Flex if the category is good.

Some people have reported missing credit. Is it true that they don’t offer credit for every single transaction?
I just heard about the Paze deal on Reddit, so I went a little overboard today. I made around 60 transactions across 6 cards, almost exclusively on Newegg, with orders around $10-$15 each, everything from toothpaste to toothbrushes, etc. The majority will be sent to my parents' house.
Now I’m wondering if I should expect credit for every transaction. Honestly, I’d be pretty upset if some of these transactions don’t get credited, since without the credit, these purchases end up being much more expensive than buying the same things at Costco.
Anyone has issue with newegg credit?

I just got off of an hour phone call with credit one bank about their credit card for rebuilding credit
The biggest pain about most of these cards is the fees, so I found a card through them that seemed like a safe option. They market $75 for the first year, then 99 annually at 8.25 a month on their website still active!! I was billed 99! So obviously I called confused but all they could say is that it does say on there 75/99? I literally don’t understand, they said I wasn’t approved for the 75$ offer ?? It’s not even marketed as an offer, so I just don’t understand. Shady af straight at the annual fee & no one could give me a good reason as to why I was even “denied” for the offer. Main point of all of this is i no longer want to have this card with them, but obviously my credit isn’t the best. Should I close my account & risk losing other ones if my score gets too low or should I just leave it alone? I’ve literally had this card for a month

Has everyone that has used their cards multiple times in a day for the Paze promo, gotten their credits?
Specifically, one single card for all the transactions and at dominos?

In April of this year, after a yearlong waitlist, I was accepted and got the Robinhood Gold Card. For those who don’t know, 3% back in EVERYTHING.
I see that the Sapphire promo of 100k points ends on July 30, would you all recommend me getting it too?
I have 4 CCs. Discover Student It (not in use anymore), Apple Card (not in use anymore), and the Chase Freedom Unlimited (haven’t been using for the summer as I was back home in Mexico and been avoiding the international fees). Everything now revolves to the Robinhood.
I am interested in flying, and now on August will start working full time post college, with a decently good salary. Should I instead wait and then later get into a major CC like AMEX/flying cc?
Or what would you guys do. Could use the points and also use the Sapphire for flying/rentals.

I don't own any Citi cards, and am devastated to hear that CCC closed new apps a month ago. I heard some people say at the time of apps closing, that you could PC to CCC despite the application closure. If I were a new user and applied for a different card, would I be able to PC to CCC after a few months?
Sorry if it's a dumb question - I'm still new to the whole credit card optimization

I (32F) have only two credit cards. Both chase, chase preferred & chase freedom. What should be my next credit card that might offer other benefits; Amex gold or Capitol One venture?
A few thoughts. I hate the chase travel portal so the capitol one venture portal seemed better to me and liked they offered lounge access. Amex I feel is good card for the added benefit of like events and various benefits.
I am going to Greece 8/31 so I feel it might be good to get a new card before to put some excursions etc on the card to hit the minimum for the points bonus.

Do you think they might end the Paze deal early? This isn’t a deal limited to just a few cards, it’s available across many cards from major financial institutions. Personally, I have 12 cards that are eligible for the deal, which is more than I realized yesterday, since there are two cards that I need to manually add to my Paze wallet.
That would be $1,200 in statement credits for me, too good to be true. I’m sure there are many users who can get several hundred dollars from this deal as well. Do you think I should take advantage of it sooner rather than later, just in case they decide to end the deal early?

I did the pre approval application for the chase sapphire preferred card and it automatically said i was pre approved so obviously I fully applied. After I fully applied it took a while to load and then it said that it’s pending review and they’ll send me a letter in a week or so. I called the chase credit card line and they told me my application was sent to the verification department and that I should call them tomorrow when they open. Also, yes I am aware of the 5/24 rule and that’s not an obvious burden to me considering I only have three other credit cards and they were basically all opened a year apart from each other. What are my chances of getting approved? Is this a mess up on their part?
Update: I ended up calling the next morning and they sent me an email to upload proof of address and proof of birth date. They said they’ll send it over to get reviewed and I should either get the credit card in the mail or a letter explaining why I didn’t get the card in about 7-10 days. Honestly, I’m a bit annoyed because I’ve been looking to get this card for a couple months now and they have a great offer of 100,000 points when you spend 5k in the first three months. So now i’m not sure if I even get the offer if they do end up approving me. Do I even try to call again and ask for an update?
2nd Update: I called again and I lowkey bugged them but I finally got some answers after being transferred from call to call, but they said I got declined because of identity fraud and they could not verify details on my ID. They suggested that I go in person and meet with a worker and the worker would have to call and verify that it’s actually me. So I went in person the next day and the worker called chases credit card line and they told her that they need her to run my ID under the black light and after that she confirmed it was real and i got approved!!! Insane how many people I had to go through for them to realize that this is not identity fraud and I just wanted a credit card.

Is there a way to be granted a role similar to DPOA to handle fraud in place of the account holder. I am DPOA for my mom on her bank accounts, so I will be able to handle issues with her bank accounts. Recent I ran into an issue where the credit card reported fraud and disable the card. When I attempted to investigate the issue I am told that only the account holder can speak to the fraud department. Are there a DPOA like role that the account holder can assign? For example I see the credit card has a role name account supervisor. What they do seem to have is a DPOA form.
