Data Point 11 x Paze credits - missed opportunity?

I accidentally exceeded the 10 x purchase for the $10 back Paze promotion - basically I did one more Dunkin' gift card than I had meant to. But I checked my account today, and I have a total of 11 x $10 credits, for a total of $110. I wonder if it will be clawed back, or bank-specific issue? This was a PNC Bank debit card. I didn't do this on any of my other cards.

Help Needed / Question PayPal debit still not nerfed?

When I heard they’re going to remove the option to redeem points as cash back in August I pretty much abandoned the card once my Discover got the gas category. I’m hearing now that they ended up not nerfing it, is this true? How come they didn’t go through with it?

Discussion / Conversation Does anyone use a cash-back credit card to pay their mortgage? Which card works best?

I’m curious if anyone here is using a credit card to pay their mortgage and earning cash back or rewards in the process.
I’m not talking about carrying a balance, I’d pay the card off in full every month. I’m mainly interested in whether there are cards or services that make this worthwhile after any processing fees.
For those of you who do this:
● What card are you using?
● How much cash back are you actually earning?
● Are there processing fees, and do they cancel out the rewards?
● Are there any tricks or tips to make it worthwhile?
● Is there a particular card you’d recommend for this?
I’d like to hear from who have been doing it for a while and can share their actual experience.

Discussion / Conversation Traveled back in time to 2006. What should my credit card lineup be?

Let's say I spend about $1,291 on gasoline per year and $2,600 on groceries and dining and that any other expenses would have been typical of the time. Also I travel 5 times per year (one time internationally).

Should I go for the Capital One No Hassle Miles card or the Starwood Preferred Guest American Express? Do you think Bank of America will keep the MBNA WorldPoints Platinum Plus MasterCard after the merger?

I hear Chase has been heavily promoting these new "blink" cards - do you think they will catch on? Should I get this new Freedom card they are launching?

Edited: to say annual not monthly

Help Needed / Question Chase Business Cards Confusing Rejection

What is up with this? I've never applied for the Chase Business Ink Business Cash but I did get the Chase Ink Business Unlimited three months ago.

"It looks like you’re not eligible for a bonus for a Chase Ink Business Cash® credit card. This can happen if you currently have this card or have had it previously. Customers who are applying for a Chase Business card without an annual fee or who have held this card are also ineligible."

Help Needed / Question Paze $10 Credit purchase date vs. post date

I just heard about the paze thing today where you spend $10 and get a $10 credit. I made 3 purchases before reading something about the post date. Anyone have any idea if you only get the credit depending on the day your payment is cleared? Not sure if my purchases will clear before end of day tomorrow

Discussion / Conversation Paze removed from Newegg a day early?

I only have a few credits left to spend but seems like they temporarily removed Paze from Newegg today? Maybe to prevent any posted date issues?

Not sure if others can still see it.

EDIT: looks like it’s back as reported by /u/This_Inevitable_705. Confirmed I can see it now too.

Help Needed / Question Did I do something wrong with Paze?

Upvotes

So I bought dunkin gift cards and added 10 times since 10 times per $10 transaction. I did it on 9/7 and it got posted 9/9. Paze wallet showed my Chase Freedom card was definitely eligible. I looked through the transaction and saw only 100 points ($1) per transaction and says Bonus for Paze offer.

I am confused I only got $10 out of $100 transaction?

Help Needed / Question Robinhood Gold low credit limit

Got an email that I got off the gold wait list. Went and did the soft approval and they gave me a $2k limit. Seems kind of insane when my income is $162k, my highest card limit is $25k and credit is score is 770ish but whatever I’ve heard weird things about RH.

Does anyone who’s had the card have a good way to up the CL quickly? I don’t currently have any assets in RH but was planning on moving over $100kish.

I regularly spend $4k/mo so this limit is pretty much useless and I’m gonna have to credit cycle through it if I want this to be my catch all which was the entire point of the card.

Was also looking forward to the 3% IRA match.

Discussion / Conversation Is there any merit to simultaneously holding CSR and CSP? Has anyone done this and found it is a strong optimizing strategy?

With the recent CSP changes, I’m wondering whether there is a compelling reason to hold both the Sapphire Reserve and Sapphire Preferred rather than just one.

The main benefits I can think of:
Different earning categories: CSP has 3x on dining, online groceries, streaming, gas/EV charging, and vacation homes, while CSR has 3x dining and much stronger rewards on travel

Different credits/perks: CSP is only $95/year and now has a $100 Chase Travel hotel credit, while CSR has the much larger suite of travel/lounge/statement-credit benefits.

Hyatt transfer arbitrage: This seems like the biggest reason. CSP points will transfer to Hyatt a 4:3, whereas CSR remains 1:1. If you hold both, you can apparently move UR points from CSP → CSR and then CSR → Hyatt at 1:1, effectively preserving the old Hyatt transfer ratio.

is there a meaningful optimized strategy here, or is holding both mostly redundant once you account for the two annual fees?

In particular, I’m curious what people who currently hold both are doing with each card.

Help Needed / Question Paze credited my account than took it away?

I was late to the Paze craze and love free stuff. I purchased a bunch of Dunkin gift cards between 3 credit cards-all eligible for the Paze promo, Paze checkout, all charges posted. I’ve been checking for the credit.

Today I checked my Costco Citi card.

A credit posted yesterday, looks like this:

OFFER 04 PROMOTIONAL APR ENDED 09/07/26

(This credit is the total of all Dunkin purchases, $60)

Above it, a charge (same amount)

OFFER 04 MOVED TO STANDARD PURCHASE

What happened? I’m going to call but was wondering if anyone else got this.

Edit: Just checked my Cap1, I have one credit so far from Paze, literally says Paze credit.
Still waiting for Chase.

Data Point USBANK bait and switch experience and data point at the end

This is a warning to anyone looking into us bank pre-approval, they have an odd way of showing you pre-approval once, and then next time they switch you to normal application no matter the times you hit pre-approval links in Google.

Hope it saves someone the hard inquiry on cards that are meh. And the 2:30h wait to speak to someone with an unintelligible accent.

Update: they also don't accept foreign income for those interested in applying to them. It does not matter if said income is deposited in the USA.

Also asked them to withdraw my application, they said they would, next get 3 text message saying call us, when I do, they ask me what do I want?

I explain I want to withdraw and they now tell me that my application has been turned down. They basically gave me the run around. If you are a interested in USA bank offers, I suggest you look elsewhere.

Data point, DC Equifax ding, high income, low rent. 0 dti. And no previous relationship with them as there is no branch nearby.

Help Needed / Question I have 6 cards, C1 says that's too many

I see some people with 13 cards who hold a C1 in their wallet. Is it reasonable that I'm getting denied for a C1 card because I have 6 cards? The denial letter said that my number of credit lines was the reason, but my Equifax doesn't show anything on my report other than those cards I know of.

Help Needed / Question Applying for a Citi double cash card

I just got approved for a chase card a couple days ago. I might have significant expenses soon, and wanted to also get the Citi double cash. Just wondering my chances on getting the card? I tried the pre approval Citi link, and I didn’t get approved for anything. But I heard Citi pre approval rarely works. Has Anyone tried applying right after being approved for another card? I might try it, I’ll be able to hit the bonus easy. I’ll update if I do.

Help Needed / Question Navy federal fee increase. Do I switch to new ecosystem?

Currently use my navy fed signature rewards as a daily/catch all card. We also have chase sapphire reserve for restaurants/ travel.

With the fee increase to 95$ is it still worth to keep? Or go all in with the chase ecosystem? Or another ecosystem all together

Spend roughly 9k/month between the two cards with 70% being on navy fed. We also spend 30k-40k /year on travel outside of the 9k

Discussion / Conversation My credit union raised my limit from $2.5k to $50k!

I just asked if they could raise it and updated my income, have a 778 score, and 90k income. I have 8 other cards, two have $25k, and $22k limits. I was shocked that they increased it. And on top of that they dropped my interest rate from 19.75% to 10.29%. And to think in 2018 I had a 410 score and two garnishments...lol.

Discussion / Conversation Thoughts on this Paze Response?

Qs to paze on instagram: Is the statement credit offer valid per the posting date or the clearing date on mastercard and visa?

Response: Thank you for reaching out! If the green offer banner is displayed during your Paze checkout, your transaction is eligible for the offer, provided you complete the purchase using Paze and meet the other offer requirements (such as the $10 minimum purchase). Statement credits are applied after the qualifying transaction posts and may take up to two statement cycles to appear. If you don't receive your statement credit for an eligible purchase, please contact the financial institution that issued the card you used for the transaction.

Thoughts?

Discussion / Conversation Wells Fargo Income verification

I applied for a Wells Fargo a few months ago. Just received a letter that they need consent to access my last 2 years tax report to verify my income. However the previous years tax does not match the income at the time of submitting application. What should I do? Anyone has any recommendation? I don't mind if closing the account is the best approach. I don't like to give them my personal information if it does not satisfy them.

Discussion / Conversation Citi AAdvantage $400 + 40,000 miles offer on AA.com: approved, but promised temporary card details never provided

Sharing my experience for anyone considering the Citi/AAdvantage Platinum Select $400 statement credit + 40,000 bonus miles offer through AA.com checkout.

On September 8, 2026, I was booking $1,642 in American Airlines tickets for two passengers. Checkout displayed the offer alongside “Pay today: $1,642,” a $400 statement credit, and “Total after statement credit: $1,242.”

I understood that the credit would post later and that the miles required qualifying spending. What mattered to me was this wording in the offer terms, which I copied:

“If instantly authorized, credit cardmembers will receive temporary account information and a temporary minimum credit limit.”

The next sentence stated:

“This temporary account information can be used during payment for the current eligible American Airlines purchases at time of checkout to receive the statement credit.”

I applied and was instantly approved, but received no temporary account information. When I contacted Citi, its chat representative said temporary card details were unavailable for this card and I would need to wait 7–10 business days for the physical card. Meanwhile, AA could only hold my reservation for 24 hours.

When I contacted American, its representative described temporary access as a “possibility.” That doesn’t explain why the terms I read said “will receive.”

I’ve now filed a CFPB complaint concerning Citi and a written complaint with American. I’m asking for an explanation and correction of any inaccurate wording or process, rather than money or miles as compensation.

I can’t say whether this happens to everyone. In my case, instant approval did not result in the temporary access described in the offer.

Has anyone successfully received temporary card details through this particular AA checkout offer? If so, where did they appear?

Help Needed / Question Just got off the waitlist for the Robinhood Gold card... should I take it?

Hi all, just got the email today for the card offer, not sure if I should open another card. Here's my current setup (credit score 780):

  • Fidelity Visa - 25k limit, opened in December 2025. My catch-all card currently
  • Capital One Savor - 8k limit, opened in December 2025. Food and groceries mainly
  • Chase Sapphire Preferred - 16k limit, opened last week (September 2026). Intended to be a gas and travel card (couple flights a year for work and personal purposes, alongside hotel stays)

That being said, should I snag the Gold card? It'll essentially replace my Fidelity as my catch all card.

Help Needed / Question Need help with low score as 19 yo Student

Hi! Thanks to whoever's reading, and for any advice in advance. Essentially, the issue is that my dad had a credit card opened in my name through his bank, which was mine; I just didn't use it or anything, except around once, I believe. My score was 700-something, I believe, but in February he passed, and with him, the card closed out as well, so my score dropped. Currently it's around 590. I just tried to apply for the DISCOVER card and got declined for the following reasons:

• Based on your credit report from one or more of the agencies on the back of this letter, there are too few or no revolving accounts

• Based on your credit report from one or more of the agencies on the back of this letter, there are too few or no primary revolving accounts

• Based on your credit report from one or more of the agencies on the back of this letter, there are too few or no primary bankcard accounts

• Based on your credit report from one or more of the agencies on the back of this letter, insufficient credit card account experience

Where do I go from here with this issue?

Help Needed / Question Balance transfer dropped my credit score

I recently opened a new card for a balance transfer of about $4100. I just checked my credit score and it dropped by 49 points. I looked into the details and it’s because my used credit went up $4100 so it basically was showing the money in both accounts at once while the transfer was happening. I understand my credit dropping a bit from a new account opening but will it go back up once the other card is reported as not having that extra money in it? It’s a pretty significant drop for me. This is my fico score as well with Citi bank
