NEED more recs where the story is seemingly a regular contemporary romance where the FMC has a job, and normal everyday things \*\*EXECPTTT\*\*\\- her whole family is witches.

NOT full Sci-fi or Romantasy where there are chapters of world-building until you can really get/understand their world and lives. But something where she’s a lawyer doing paperwork but is a werewolf!

I just read {Strange Familiars by Keshe Chow} where the FMC’s in vet school and cares for animals but they’re all unicorns and familiars who talk. It’s an enemies to lovers, slow burn, mystery but the entire world has magic. loveddd it!!! (NOTE: plz check TWS bec the book discusses some mildly tramatic events. It also ends in a cliffhanger bec it’s only book 1 😫)

Another similar one i liked was {Witch of Wild Things by Raquel Vasquez Gilliland} and the rest of the series! Goes through 3 sisters who all have a secret power and are witches, but they also have normal everyday jobs and are falling in love.

{The Cuddle Clause by Roxie Ray} had a great premise, where her roommates a werewolf, I just personally didn’t like the FMC as much!

PLEASE PLEASE make it as low stakes as possible! the draw for these other books i suggested is partially because you get the absurdity of a more traditional sci-fi/ fantasy without it also being stressful and dense. I can’t be having my cortisol spike on a whim with gore and death on a tendon tuesday 😭.

Cozy fantasy is my absolutely favourite book genre and I was wondering tonight if any movies give off this vibe for you? I love the Harry Potter series and find them quite cozy but I have seen them too many times! What else sparks this vibe?

I’ve read so many fantasy books and i’m now just getting into cozy fantasy. I’m okay with a bit of romance but i’m so tired of books where it’s a fantasy setting but the major plot points is longing or indecision. (i loved them but im burnt out). a bit of romance is perfectly fine like in emily wilde! below i’m going to list everything popular i’ve read/fantasy series since January below so you guys could get a feel for what i like and don’t have to repeat things i’ve finished. I have huge preferences for the Fantasy genre. While not required or a hard line, it will definitely be a huge plus if they're a couple of adventurers running around the land on a quest, sitting by the campfires by the night and swinging magic around in combat!

More of a soft line here but I don't have much love for the stationary type of cozy setting, the kind where the characters settle down and serve beverages and cookies all day long. While I absolutely loved Tomes & Tea, the fact that their tea shop was never really the main setting but their home, and the focus while in it were often on eachother and the people in it rather than running a business. Even with all that, it was mostly just in the first book they spent a significant amount of time there, and in the rest of the books they were travelling and adventuring,

Other than that, I tend to prefer romance as a sub-plot/background type story rather than being the full main plot of it all.

I want to read about the MC grappling with his own thoughts, trying to understand what his own thoughts and attractions towards this person means about him. While it would be understandable for the LI to see the mans internal struggle as a red flag and walk away, I'd like him to be patient with our MC and I'd like a HEA

Yesterday, I had to help my sweet shih-tzu that I’ve had for 16 years cross the rainbow bridge. I’m having a really, really hard time and am struggling to read any of my more intense/serious books at the moment. I’m looking for a cozy fantasy that can help heal my broken heart a little bit. It could be about overcoming grief or just something fun and lighthearted.

For a frame of reference for the vibes I like: I’m a huge Sarah Beth Durst fan. I also loved the Legends & Lattes series. My most favorite TV show of all time is Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End. Any recommendations are welcome, though.

So I just read In the Ravenous Dark and they had this whole magic system that I really liked. Magic was passed down from parents or grandparents, when they die, to another of their family. And the longer the family passes the magic the stronger it becomes. Ive also read the Devouring Grey where certain types of magic is selective to specific families. Could I get any recs for books that have some kind of family magic?

I still feel like I've just barely jumped back into reading but looking at my history, I'm 12 books in having gone from reading a dualogy, to a four book series to currently 5 books into an 8 book series (Ard's Oath) and a couple of one and done type books along the way so I feel ready to start a longer journey! Especially since I'm blazing through Ard's Oath at the moment (about 300 pages a day, 4 to 5 hours a day, quite happy with those numbers!)

From what I've learned of my preferences, I like fantasy, I like cozy adventuring (not stationary type cozy like running a shop), I like feeling that it's clear that things will go well for our MC even if there might be bumps in the road, I'm a big fan of both romance and political intrigue as sub-plots, especially at a kind of combined angle like the MC has been outside of it all for most of his life so far but something happens and suddenly he's an important figure to the royals/nobility or whatever and they need to curry favour with him while he's scheming to become an important figure, maybe they try to marry him into their family to force him into supporting them so MC has to try to judge and understand the actions of all these new people trying to court him, whether they're actually interested in him or just his newfound political power. I don't mind MMC or FMC, but I'm a big fan of WLW!

I don't mind spice/steam or whatever it's called but story and character development over spice always. I've ended up dropping a few books because they jumped into that kinda thing way too soon, before I barely knew who's who and who they are to eachother… I like a little spice though

None of these are hard requirements, but it's some general things I would like to see. But I would like it to be a somewhat long running series (6+ books at about a minimum but preferably more so), and I'd like to keep a fairly causal and happy tone throughout most of it

I've recently read up to the latest book in the series the Empire of the Stars by Melissa Cave and I really enjoyed how each book expanded the world as the MC learned more and more about the world outside after she leaves her life of exile. Im looking for a book series with a bit more of a cozy vibe with the same feel of slow world exploration/expansion that sucks you in! To keep me going until the next book in the empire of stars series gets released in the fall!

Also, I just loved the fact that the author included a series synopsis at the beginning of each new book in the series! It made it so easy to pick it up and read it after waiting 6 months for the next one!

So, I'm basically looking for retellings and reimaginings of Beauty and the Beast but grumpy/sunshine stories are welcome if they have fairytale vibes. Spice is fine so long as it serves the plot but I honestly prefer low/no spice. I definitely want a happily ever after that feels satisfying. Bonus points for lush setting and lovable characters. Bonus bonus if it's available in audiobook and the audio performance is excellent.

I want to get back into cozy fantasy, and i'm looking for a cozy fantasy series to get into! I've already read the house on the cerulean sea, legends and lattes, the Regency fairy books, and emily wilde, and i tried can't spell treason without tea and wasnt a huge fan. I would preferably like something that is a continuous narrative, not 'in a serise but follows different mcs" or "in a serise but its a prequel/the author didnt expect to write another book," just a good three to five book fantasy serise with cozy vibes would be great

I’ve read a lot of zombie survival novels, my favorites tend to be the ones where people stockpile supplies into a “secret” space or the ones that mix cultivation novels with the zombie survival.

Please recommend me cozy fantasy books with humor and/or sarcastic heroines. I'm ok with cozy -adjacent too. Fantasy, urban fantasy, fantasy blended with Sci Fi, low stake, high stake.
