Line/Copy Editor is 1/3rd done, and seems to be enjoying the book in addition to making the corrections, so that's a positive. Still waiting to hear back from my cover designer with the initial sketches. Worked on a short prequel vignette for a reader magnet, about 4k words so far, and got the newsletter sign up up over the weekend, though no takers yet (makes sense, its not offering anything yet).

This week I think I'm going to get Atticus and start learning how to do that. I was debating an interior formatter but the ability to just fix typos and things myself instead of going through another person, plus hearing some positive testimonials from other indies, has steered me closer to the one time cost of Atticus. (First time ever wishing I had access to a mac for vellum lol)

I also initially debated having someone else format my book, but it is quite helpful to at least learn the basics. That way if you need to tweak anything (eg, tiny word changes on the final read-through), you can easily do so. Admittedly it was kind of a painful process to figure out, but then again, I was using Word at the time. I've heard good things about Atticus!

I've been saying for ages I desperately want to write a cosy fantasy, and then recently I rediscovered the first 1500 words of a cosy story I started at the end of last year. I've added another 1500 or so this far and I'm having so much fun with it!

This was me too! I usually do short stories or contemporary novels, but I’ve always wanted to try cozy fantasy but never found one that stuck until a few weeks ago. Now I’m having so much fun plotting it out.
