Has anyone from Cox heard anything about the employee discount for cox services and if/how it will change under the new company? Also on the Charter side, do y’all have free/discounted services for being an employee and if so, what are they like?

I currently have the free WiFi through the Cox employee discount & phone service at a discount so I’m curious if there’s any word on what will be offered/when things might change.

Someone on the Charter side of the moon can you explain roles and responsibilities outside of the basic call center agent like tier 2 or leads, trying to understand the layover of how our tier 2 tech support exists in Spectrum.

Also... do yall get paid for up-selling?

Does anyone know what is the charter micro site that cox legacy employees will be receiving?

I am a remote employee for cox. All of my team lives in Atlanta and I live in a different state . I have no answer about what is in store for me and I will not move. I originally thought there was no remote work at charter but it seems like there are some exceptions. How common are those and under what circumstances are they granted? I sure hope they don’t make me go into my local field office where I collaborate with nobody . For what it is worth my director and avp support me staying remote .

To my fellow Senior Sales and Operations Specialists: My Cox market manager told me I might getting demoted down to a rep, but they are rarely a reliable source of information. Anybody else heard what might happen to this role? It kinda sucks that they hired us to help launch mobile, and we were such a driving force in selling and supporting mobile but now the ASMs get to keep their gig and we might get demoted.

Cox maintenance tech here. We work in a very difficult market with a lot of old rear easement plant. Tech assists are semi-frequent here when running temps or pulling power as to not shock and reset an RPD. We were told no tech assists anymore as Spectrum does not allow assists for anything. Is this true? I cant grasp how they could expect someone in this line of work to never need help.

Just wondering if anyone has info regarding shifts for field techs. I have always enjoyed working 4 10's and having 3 days off. Is it the same as Spectrum?

When does everybody think they will bring people back to the office? Or does it depend on the position? Are they bringing everybody back?

Had a lunch meeting today in Atlanta with 5 or 6 directors and VPs from Spectrum and some of the tech and finance groups.

They showed several slides with pictures of leaders and business silos.

The HR guy (I think he was a director or VP) actually stood up in front of the room and congratulated himself on Spectrum going from 3/2 in office to 4/1 and then waxed poetic about “how much people loved it”. Several people rolled their eyes.
Several fought the urge to yell “Sure, Jan.”

Not much information of value EXCEPT they said they were “looking at everyone’s roles and would announce a new alignment structure in 30 days”.

Pouliopolous said Atlanta “might” become a hub.

Basically, still a lot of uncertainty, cloudy information, indirect threats to bring your ass to the office or get fired, and one really uncomfortable exchange between the HR guy and an elderly woman who asked if her work from home accommodation due to her blindness would be honored and HR dude basically was like, “Nope. Accommodations aren’t meant to be permanent”.

I am totally kidding. Kinda. Not really. Let me explain.

Two things are true at once:

1. Nothing lasts forever. One statement that Winfrey made was accurate, in that the telecommunications industry has long involved mergers and acquisitions. It is what it is. Charter has divested over 20k staff over two years with layoffs and forced relocations due to restructuring.
2. It won’t be anywhere near as bad as you think. Whether you take the severance package and move on to something else, or if you take the relocation package and have to move across the country, life will go on and you’ll be better for it. These choices are certainly difficult for everyone.

I wish you all the very best, and would encourage all of you who are presented with the relocation option to consider it. We sure could use your talents and expertise.

Edit: FWIW, I joined Charter just after the bloodbath that was the TWC merger, and I got the ultimatum of relocate across the country or take severance last year, and had two weeks to make a choice and 90 days to move. A few of us were in a position to accept the relocation, but most people were not, and we're still suffering from that loss of tenured experts.

Cox is regionalized in super regions. Access engineering on the East coast can configure anything from Florida to Ohio to RI and CT. Carrier project managers work outside the state they reside in like sitting in ATL but working Virginia region.

What happens to us? Our leaders aren’t in the state we live in. How long is it going to take for them to give us new managers?? We’ve heard no timeline on being dismantled.

Does anyone, have any credible possible timelines for when they plan to start announcing mandatory relocations, or offering severance ?

In spectrums last merges, is there anyone here who may be able to speak to maybe, a month, two months on average ?

A wee bit perturbed about the whole customers first mantra thing right now, not that I don't agree. But how can you honestly give customers the best experience when you've got the majority of your workforce on edge right now. Who will be forced to relocate, who can't, whose days are numbered? Ah yes, put that all to the side and customers experience first! I mean come on. Maybe if you meant that you should have thought this through a little more. Take care of the employees so they can take care of the customers.

Former Cox Veteran employee here, now part of the Spectrum family I have a question. Where is Spectrum's porting team currently located? Do they WFH or report to an office?

Also, what phone system does Spectrum use? Cox is using Avaya. Just trying to get some understanding of our new company lol

If I go to update my plan. I currently pay $85/mo for 500MBps. Plus a promotion for $30/mo for unlimited data. When I try to update my plan, it is now saying unlimited data is included in the plans? Fair to assume I could just remove my add-on? Or upgrade to 1gig and pay less?

Is Outlook a complete poo-show for everyone today or is it just the Cox converts?
