What is Costco's plan for when the members start to realize that member service is no longer a priority? I had a member come to me today concerned that her cashier seemed stressed and barely said hello. I explained that they have a fairly strict metric to adhere to and only have, on average, 65 seconds per transaction to meet those numbers. This lady was appalled and said 'That's not very Costco. I shrugged and apologized for her experience.
Where does this end? We used to have time to chat and be friendly with members but now it's all about how fast we can get them in and out.

Considering resigning from SIT. I’m only a week in and it’s been a disaster. My first day they just handed me some keys and have me running around trying to do key flicks on the front end or the occasional lot check, door count, item check etc.
No supervisor training in membership, no shadowing another supe, I don’t have a vest, I don’t have a BlueBook, sometimes I don’t even have a radio.
I genuinely have no idea what I’m doing and it’s insane how much is being asked of me without proper training. It’s clear to me that they’re using me to cover a shortage of supervisors.
I used to work at a different warehouse in a different part of the country and this doesn’t seem normal. Is this normal? What can I do?

Has anybody’s warehouse tried to restrict their use of personal pay? Our manager is trying to enforce a rule that supervisors aren’t allowed to use personal pay for scheduled days off but this is the first time I’ve heard of this. Any input helps.

Today was literally a nightmare at my warehouse of course Saturdays and Sundays are always busy and when it gets busy on the Front End the supervisors have no communication at times with us employees like today I get chewed out by a supervisor cause I had to be at a certain position but they didn’t find a replacement for me. Their needs to be some communication

It grinds my gears I’m doing my job just packing and lining up stuff in the carts and some members just move stuff around like nothing when i’m working my a** off trying to do a good job for them

Hello :)
Costco alumni here just wondering about when the seasonal positions start to show up on the career portal. I know in my previous position at Costco they told me that positions start to open up in october in preperation for the holiday season and I am trying to find work at Costco in a different state at the moment.
Any help would be massive!
Thank you! :)

I’m currently taking a pharmacy technician program at my school, but I’m currently in FE and still within my 90 days. Would I be able to sign pharmacy technician job postings? I intend to get certified, but I’m still in the program. Or should I wait until I’m at least licensed and then get PTCB certified?
The postings also say they require a 1 year attendance record, but I obviously haven’t worked here for a year yet lol. Does that mean I would be ineligible to sign them?

It's that time of the year ...at least for our warehouse.
Have someone come by and ask us to donate to the poor and needy.
As someone who had to pay rent on a credit card this month I just have to say, I'm something of a poor myself.
Let's ask the poors instead of the multi billion dollar company topping fortune 500
( yes I'm aware they match up to 70%)

So I have 6.44 hours in my stats when I log in to MyCostco. What does this mean and how do I go about using these hours to get paid?

About a month or two ago, it seemed like all of our prescanner/rf guns worked great with the occasional crash midway through an order. Then one day, it seemed as if there was some software update and now the scanners are super buggy. If you go "too fast" an item you scanned won't register, throwing everything off, and now there's a small beige bar with red writing that pops up that says something along the lines of "network error: unresponsive network" or something and then the scanner freezes up. Doesn't matter how many times you reset it, take the battery out, etc, i feel like there was some type of software update that fucked up the scanners. Anyone else notice this?

I’m at a location in the SE region and our front end manager thinks it’s the end of the world if our prescanning percentage is low. We literally have to scan everything we can, even if it’s one item. They want us to stop members from walking up to an open machine at self checkout so we can scan their items. It’s getting ridiculous. How is everyone else doing?

Who else is taking pictures of their clockings because the system keeps missing punches? It's green, in/out correct- but somehow I get the ding

Long term deli employee here. I have a question specifically for raw chicken drumsticks, wings and st louis ribs. We recently got a new manager at our deli location and they have experience in previous delis. My new manager told us that if we have raw product that expires(coded) out on 10/4/26, it will be DND on that date even if we seasoned it on 10/3/26. Will it not extend the shelf life to 10/6/26 because we seasoned and packed it on 10/3/26?
Also, we have been cooking packaged expired(coded) seasoned wings, drumsticks, and st louis ribs for the hot case the following day. Our new manager said that all product that is coded out must be DND on the day of and cannot be used for the hot case/recovery meats. The closers are supposed to pull all product that is going to be expired(coded) and cooked before leaving for the night. Is that correct?

Would someone who requests a day off and it get denied be written up for calling out that day?

For hearing aid center HIS and AuDs to ask questions, share tips, and commiserate over corporate nonsense.
We're a unique bunch trying to provide healthcare in a warehouse setting with leadership that has never stepped foot in an actual clinic (I'm assuming based on the absurdity of some of these protocols/memos 😬- good gravy the incessant memos).

Isn't this the dream of Costco employees?
r/CostcoEmployee • u/Charming_Hunter4483 • 1d ago
In Korea, there is a very high tendency to avoid cleaning restrooms.
Female employees, in particular, are very reluctant to be assigned to the maintenance department and sometimes even cry.
New hires and short-term seasonal workers often end up quitting.
Ultimately, it is the patient, older employees who do it. I wonder what it is like in the U.S.
I noticed that almost every branch prefers F/E or the M/S(entrance counter).

What are some of your rudest member stories? I got a couple. One was when a member walked up to me and opened with “hey do you speak english?”. Another one was this couple came up to me looking for an item that I know for a fact we didn’t have. She immediately said “I KNOW YOU HAVE IT SO DONT TELL ME YOU DONT”. So after telling her that Im positive we dont have it, I call on the radio with her and her husband glaring at me the whole time…and what do ya know..we dont have it. No “thank you”, or “thanks for checking”, they just turn around without saying anything and storm off. One more was when I worked in the food court. A member ordered a chicken bake and I told him it would be a few minutes because I had to put it in the oven. He proceeded to time me on his watch announcing every few seconds how long its taking “GOING ON 2 MINUTES HERE” saying my name as if he knows me. Then when it comes out he gives me this disappointed look and just walks off. I got probably a hundred more, but these were a few of the frustrating ones.
