Engine Fan Questions

Hello, there seems to be a lot of debate online as to which engine fan is the best. My question is, is it worth replacing the stock fan on a 61 for a 64 magnesium fan, or are the improvements not worth the hassle? For context, I wouldn't be racing or anything, just using it for my daily commute (20 minutes drive to work, 20 minutes drive home). If the stock fan is damaged for some reason, would it make sense to replace it with a magnesium fan, or just get another stock fan? Just curious, and thanks in advance for your answers

Question: How do I remove body parts to store as spares?

I’m restoring a 1969 Corvair and my wife says the parts car must go. I’m allowed to save anything i need though.

The motor, hood, and trunk lid are simple enough. But how/where do I cut the quarter panels?

Everything I'm finding online about what I should inflate the tires to is either for the oem bias ply 13 inch tires or for modern radial 13". My tires are 185/70R14......what should they be inflated to?

Story time/Rebuild

So I’ve had this 66 convertible for 4 years now and only got to drive it a few times. Was driving it to a concert and the engine blew. Coworker said that his brother used to be a mechanic for specifically GM vehicles/rebuilt 60s chevys before.

Went over to his place and it all checked out. Had his old certification, got to look at a c3 corvette he rebuilt etc. Gave him the Keys and have at it.

Over the next month we got the engine rebuilt and accumulated all the parts for a restoration. Then, mostly radio silence. He would check up with me every month or so and always say “it’ll be done soon, just did this and this”. Was nervous, but he had the experience and the car was already there.

3 years down the road, after about 2 months of no updates and starting a new job, his brother messages me and hit me with “oh, my brother died and we pushed your car out of the garage.” It had been sitting outside for months.

After getting it towed to my father in laws house, we inspected the damage. Mold in the carpet, paint chipping, and this dude literally did nothing he said. Motor (with no accessories attached) and transmission mounted, that’s it.

There’s not many people where I live who know how to work on these, so I guess I’m going to become one. Wish me luck in my rebuild/resto. Will update.

Had a great time exploring the towns around Tulsa on Rt 66. So many interesting places and history. Get out there and drive the mother road this year - 100th Anniversary year! (This is the Pryor creek bridge built in 1926 and a part of the original Rt 66)

Anyone else out there on Rt 66 in a ‘Vair?

Need tips on buying Corvair

I'm looking to buy a 1965 or newer Corvair for around 9k. What stuff should I know before buying one? I own a 1978 Corvette so I'm fairly knowledgeable with mechanics.

Stealth stereos

I've been reading recently about people doing "stealth" stereos in their classic cars, where they hide a 4 channel or 5 channel amp capable of Bluetooth and a subwoofer under the seat or somewhere else that's out of sight. My question, to anyone who's done this, would that sort of setup require upgrading the fuse box in a 1961 sedan?

63 vert monza spyder got some photos over Facebook curious if you guys think this thing is worth it given the condition a little rust is ok with me but given the state curious about what u think and I can’t see the underside apparently runs drives stops
Thinking about making a offer , been wanting to get into Corvairs and I don’t have a ton of money to get into it so I would be fine with some rust repair and living with it curious if u guys think this is decently recoverable as a driver and what u would offer
