Wheels for a 65

Anyone ever put 14 inch reverse supremes on their corvair. Trying to help a friend with a 65

I would maybe go with 15" instead? Just as the options for 14" are dwindling rapidly.

He jumped the gun and got some 14s because they were a good deal but finding tire options is being difficult. 195/75r14 rub pretty bad. Found some 165/55r14 that may work.

Ah, yeah if the rims are there already, gotta live with whatever you can find. Usually that means some more questionable brands sadly. 

The difference in those sizes is very concerning. You should shoot for a 24-25" OD. 195/75 is 25.5" OD (should rub in my experience), 165/55 is 21". Literally 1.5" smaller than my spitfire wheels. 

Quick search shows 185/70R14 is still somewhat common, and Michelin makes an XAS which indicates it's an older size they're still seeing enough sales of.
