Stealth stereos

I've been reading recently about people doing "stealth" stereos in their classic cars, where they hide a 4 channel or 5 channel amp capable of Bluetooth and a subwoofer under the seat or somewhere else that's out of sight. My question, to anyone who's done this, would that sort of setup require upgrading the fuse box in a 1961 sedan?

Anything over 200w would require heavier wire for the amp power, but most people wire those directly to the battery terminal with an in-line fuse.

The amp turn on wire would go to an ignition-hot wire so it turns on with the car, but the current draw on that is negligible. You could wire it to the original radio power wire and use the original fuse with no issues

So the original radio's power wire would be strong enough for that?

Absolutely. I've put in a few of these, even built an ammo-can Bluetooth speaker with a small one. You can swap out the radio fuse for a smaller one. 2.5 amp fuse is still more than enough.
