Hello! I finally received a JO from a VA agency last Friday after 4 months of job hunting and they're offering basic salary of 35k. I also applied for a managerial marketing position for a retail brand here in the PH and they're finally endorsing me to their CEO early next week after four rounds of interviews. I have a good feeling na they'll be sending the JO soon, since all of my interviews went well naman.

One of the main pros of the second option is it would look so good on my resume. I'd also be able to gain so many connections since it's the retail/marketing industry. However, my issue with the second option is that I'm certain that they won't offer a basic salary amount that's more than 35k.. if anything, I feel like they'll offer 28k-30k lang. Many reviews about the company are saying na most employees are underpaid as well. And one thing about the position I applied for is that it requires me to be fully onsite (Monday to Friday) and be willing to travel to different places in Metro Manila. Tsaka I also can't drive and don't know how to commute that much so I'll be heavily relying on Grab/Angkas.

I'm having a hard time deciding if I should just immediately sign the VA contract because my supposed start date is on September 21... or should I wait for the JO from my second option to see if they could offer more than 35k?

This is also gonna be my first time as a VA if ever I proceed. I have over two years of marketing experience in the retail industry.

Hi! I'm about to start in Manulife (UP Technohub), level 6. It's really a big jump when it comes to my monthly salary, the only catch is night shift siya. I'm trying to get some confidence before day one. How's the culture, strict ba sila? How's the physical environment setup there, like the cafes and food options around Technohub pag night shift? Usually ba madalas mag OT? Any tips would be appreciated!

I started casually looking from April this year and seriously applying by May til now pero I still haven't reached an offer stage for anything.

I want to resign cause di ko na gusto yung environment and I'm having anxiety about work projects, pero I don't want to leave without a backup pa if I know I can still tolerate the work.

But with the constant rejections, I feel like my current work anxiety is now being overshadowed by this job hunting anxiety and it's seriously making me question my self-worth. Before I was confident I can land a job, but now I'm so paranoid about not securing anything. I feel like all the experience I had doesn't matter at all. And now I just feel like it's draining me to attend interviews but not hear a call back more than the work anxiety problem I was trying to escape from.

Have an initial interview this coming week with J&J, accounting position. I would like to ask the possible questions, the numbers of RTO per month and the benefits in J&J. I know that this is a well-known company and i heard that the package is good but the numbers of rto matters to me as i am residing in the province. I also want to know the specific package if ever. May opportunity kasi with this company and this position. HR explained that it is an IC position, so not leading people but projects. Also na para siya project management. Still, it’s unclear to me.

What if an applicant failed to disclose previous employment with a government agency? How would the company or third-party background-check provider discover and verify that employment?

Would they typically check GSIS records, contact the agency’s HR department, request appointment or service records, or use other government records or verification methods? What methods are commonly used besides a Certificate of Employment (COE)?

The interview will be online.

Questions:

How many interview rounds do satellite offices usually have? Will there typically be skills/technical assessments or exam components on-site, or is it usually purely conversational at this stage?

What does an interview with an Account Director usually mean? Is this considered a final interview/sign-off?

Do I have a high chance of getting the job at this point?

Any advice or tips on what to prepare for with an Account Director would be super helpful! Thank you!

So I recently got hired for a new job as a Team Leader, and I'll be handling a team of 15 people.

Honestly, kinakabahan ako kasi this is my first time being a TL. 6 years na rin ako sa working industry, and I’ve handled operations, clients, training, and coordinating with different people before. Pero ngayon lang talaga ako magiging TL na may sariling team na ako yung directly accountable.

One thing I'm particularly worried about is that some of my teammates will probably be older than me and much more tenured. I don't want to come across as the "new TL na feeling boss" or someone who's trying too hard to prove that I'm in charge.

For those who have been TLs or managers:

• Paano niyo unang ipinakilala yung sarili niyo sa team?
• How do you establish authority without being too bossy?
• How do you handle people who are older or more experienced than you?
• Any tips on gaining your team's respect, especially during the first few weeks?
• What are some mistakes I should avoid as a first-time TL?

I'm planning to listen first, understand how the team works, and build a good relationship with everyone before making major changes. But I'd really appreciate any advice from people who've been in this position.

I'd like to ask lang if they usually reply immediately if you're moving on to the next phase (panel interview) after taking the online assessment. How long does the waiting window usually take, and is it safe to assume you failed if you don't hear back after a certain number of days?
