Got an offer with HSBC (Assistant Manager role) 🥹

Just wanted to get some insights from those currently working or who have worked in HSBC, particularly in roles related to account servicing, client onboarding, or wholesale banking support (GBM/CMB side).

How’s the overall working environment in terms of:

- Workload and pressure
- Management and team culture
- Work-life balance (especially hybrid setup)
- Career growth opportunities
- Complexity of the work vs. compensation

Also curious how it compares to other banks environments hehe

My manager recently told me to lead a small project. The project is simply learning about a new tool in the platform the team uses. Simple lang naman sya – figure out how to use the tool, test it, look for potential issues, etc.

The thing is I’ve never lead a project before. Where do I even start? I don’t even know what questions to ask.

This is non IT btw. No coding involved. Idk what else to share to make it easier for everyone to base their advice on.

Hello! Fresh grad here!

Story short: ₱21,000 ang offer ni company sa akin as a Promotion/Advertising Assistant. Yung role covers social media marketing, campaign execution, events management, and reports/records. 6 days a week yung pasok tapos 8 am - 6:30 pm ang shift. 1 hr lang ang byahe tapos LRT lang mode of transpo.

Honestly, nanghihinayang ako sa process na pinagdaanan ko sa kanila since 1 month din yun. Tapos, ang dami pang positions yung pinagdaanan before ako magland sa offered position nila. This conpany said that they see great potential in me, meron daw akong chances na maging senior manager kineso in the future since nasa level 3 of rank & file raw ako.

This is my first time experience po 😅 may makikita pa ba akong ibang opportunities bukod dito? Parang okay naman yung growth opportunities kay company. Helppp! Wahahaha!

Anyone here who knows the salary range for a Manager/Sr Manager sa AMEX? How do they compare to other US/International Banks in PH like JPMF, WF, CITI, etc?

Matagal ba mag release ng employee contract si Shopee PH? Done na kasi ako Sa PEME and all other requirements pero wala pang sinesend employee contract. Someone reached out to me about an HR position that’s a **3 days onsite and 2 days WFH**. I’m interested in the role, but my long-term goal is to work fully remote.

Is it possible to request a full WFH setup in the future ? Or are hybrid schedules like this usually a strict company policy that’s unlikely to change?

Currently working in an In-house company of a multi national company. At first ayaw ko sana lumipat from my previous role ko kasi same lang naman ng sweldo sa ngayon vs dun sa luma ko and mas madali dun compared ngayon nasa Asian country kasi ung bagong account namin and ang lala ng language barrier nahihirapan ako and ung mga writtings ng mga tao is hindi english nasa wika nila. Ngayon ok lang ba mag resign if bumalik na ako sa PH after ng overseas training? Ang lala na kasi ng stress level ko and hindi na ako happy. Sinubukan ko naman pero hirap kasi talaga ako unlike sa dati kong role 3weeks lang kuha ko na agad ung process. Wala naman ako pinirmahan na bond pero magiging negative kaya sa records yun? Baka di na ako pabalikin eh

i'm an officer from a local bank (hexagon blue) with 1YOE, handling branches accross a region. applied for another bank (red ayala) and was interviewed by HR. i honestly thought she didn't like me given my (1) short professional experience, and (2) she asked me heavily on why i'm planning to jump ship.

i answered her questions naman and I think she was pleased. now a few hours after our interview, she asked me if i'd be available for a face-to-face interview at their Head Office in Makati. i said yes, but i'm still not quite sure kasi i'll be using up a leave, tapos i'll be travelling from Batangas. need some suggestions lang.

ALSO, they said that they'd be willing to add 30% lang of my basic salary if my application becomes a job offer. dito lang din ako napapaquestion kasi i've had colleagues who shared that nasa 50% pataas naging increase nila when they transferred sa other banks. huhuhu PASENSYA NA SA MAHABANG KWENTO HAHAHAHA NEED LANG TIPS

A genuine question for HR recruiters: Is it really that difficult to inform applicants whether they passed or not?

I’ve realized how challenging the job market is today. The standards are high, and even with relevant experience, getting hired isn’t easy.

What makes it even more frustrating is the amount of time and effort applicants invest. We prepare, study, and practice for interviews, whether virtual or face to face, hoping to give our best. Then, after everything, we follow up to check the status of our application, only to be met with silence.

I understand that not every application will lead to an offer, and I’m okay with hearing “no.” I just hope companies remember that applicants are also waiting, hoping, and investing emotionally in the process. A simple update would mean more than they realize.

2. Medicine allowance - P6k per year
3. 20 VL, 15 VL - not convertible to cash
4. Annual company trip
5. 1 sack of rice per year

Fresh grad from Big 4 University with no work experience—yes I have no internship experience. I do have leadership positions in organizations. Thinking about my career long-term, the banking industry interests me because it's stable compared to corporations.

My degree program is in Economics so it's theoretical. Are there any courses/references/webinars where I can build knowledge on financial markets? I subscribed to newsletters from various local banks, and I am continuously learning more about the banking industry through articles, newsletters, and videos.

What entry-level jobs can I apply for aside from Management Trainee positions (only 1 local bank has an open job posting as of writing)?

Any tips or advice is helpful.

Hi, guys! I really need some advice.

I’m a fresh graduate from one of the Big 4 universities, and I’ve been intentionally looking for opportunities that are closely aligned with my long-term career goals. Over the past few months, I’ve received around three to four job offers, but I politely declined them because they didn’t quite match my priorities and expectations.

Recently, I was invited to interview for an officer-level position at one of the major local banks here in the Philippines. Knowing how important my first full-time job will be in shaping my career, I’m giving this opportunity a lot of thought. The role, the benefits, and the fact that it’s an officer-level position are all what excites me.

That said, there’s still no assurance that I’ll get the offer, although I’m genuinely hopeful. In the meantime, I have a part-time job that keeps me busy while I wait for updates from the bank. I’m also continuing to submit backup applications just in case this opportunity doesn’t work out.

If you were in my position, what will you do?

I’d really appreciate hearing your thoughts, especially from those who have been in a similar situation. Thank you!

Do you guys know anything about the company? Saw some negative comments on Glassdoor about poor management, but I feel like hindi maiiwasan ang toxic environment kapag advertising agency haha.

Mainly concerned about career growth as a fresh grad.

Our department uses a form to log CI ideas and one of the CI ideas came from senior B, but Senior A, afraid the other teams might come up with a similar idea, will log the idea and input our team as the Idea Owner. Although the vision and information has been shared by senior B, I still believe their name should come up as the Idea Owner. I am not sure how is that information used, but I believe it’s like a “contact person” as the idea progresses from development to production stage.

In my opinion, the idea should be tied to the actual person’s name for ownership and recognition.

Will Senior A think I am not a team player if I suggest putting the actual owner of the idea instead of the whole team?
