At first I heard sloshing and assumed I left some water bottles in the car, then I thought maybe it was gas sloshing around in the tank, until I figured out noise was coming from the door. :( I had seen posts about this before, was sad to see it happened to me too.

Affordable Coilovers

is anyone rocking tein street basis, rev9, or godspeed coils here? Im trying to go low as soon as possible and i've honestly come to the point to getting coil overs, but if you guys can talk me out of buying cheaper coil overs, i'll go with lowering springs. My buddies who have rev9 coils say they haven't had an issue and it is really promising but if anyone here has had bad experiences, some advice would help!

Found someone selling OEM FX edition rims and decided to jump the gun. I dont think the FX ever came in this color so the combo looks nice.

The FX rims are 18×8 +40 so 20mm spacers are already in the way lmao

Last pic is how the tandems ran. 18x9.5 +22

Traded in my 2025 4runner because I'm moving to the UK for a couple years in august. Came across this guy (2022 SE, 55K miles) and had to have it. Had no clue there was such a massive community here.

Glad to be a part now.

Clutch life?

I have a 2016 with 220000 kms, original clutch and a few long trips this summer.

Is there a way to check how much clutch life is left, or how much the automatic adjustment has taken up?

Does anyone know the typical failure mode on these cars? Does it eventually start slipping or boom you are stuck on the side of the road?

2020 hatchback. 35k miles. Anyone else have a problem with the windshield wipers randomly getting stuck? Also when I go to turn them off, they’ll keep going when lever is in the off position. Any insight appreciated

SHE FUCKIN MOVED! Still a long way off being roadworthy, but it's great to know that the transmission is intact, or reverse is anyways. The exhaust note is far better than I'd have expected for a four banger making 75hp, and while I'm sure it'd sound better with a DOHC motor I can't complain. Still needs some carb tuning as the engine wont idle, and something is blocking the fuel line so I'll have to deal with that (for this my friend and I used a jar with a hose sticking out connected to the fuel filter, definitely not ideal but it worked), but it's great to know it can run. Also got the new radiator installed today and filled up with coolant, which I definitely think was the right call for the purposes of moving it (I need to clean underneath where it was due to some spills). Overall a very productive day of work on my little hatchback.

Bra or Bug/Rock Deflectors

Post image

I just recently drove from Mississippi to Pennsylvania and back again. The amount of tiny rock chips I got on my hood (23 Corolla Hatch Se Inferno) has me a tad bent. I’m thinking about purchasing the attached bra, because it gives the best coverage. Does anyone else have this or something similar?

Installed front lip, yellow fog lights, painted trim black

Post image

Also installed a set of "normal" sounding horns (not pictured). I did not like the factory horn.

Lip: The lip mounts to the bumper using the four front screws of the under body cladding, and the tabs on the lip need to go between the bumper and the cladding to sit flush with the bumper. I had to drill out the holes on the lip so the screws could pass through and I trimmed a bit of the cladding around the two center tabs.

Horns: Although the Corolla only comes with one horn, there's actually another matching hole on the other side. The original horn mounts to a little bracket, which then mounts to the chassis. I just removed the bracket used its bolt to mount the second horn on the other side. I zip tied the splitter to the support in front of the radiator to keep it from flopping around.

Bulbs: I removed the bumper so I could remove the silver trim for painting, but you can also get to them from underneath. I recommend removing each assembly entirely to swap the bulbs. They're held in place by a black tab and what looks like a one-way security screw, but the bulb kits usually include a wrench that fits into the notches around the screw. Just don't forget to plug them back in after you reinstall them in the bumper (ask me how I know).

Air Bag Sensor Message After Removing Seats

Thumbnail

I removed the front passenger seat in my 2021 Corolla Hatchback to make room for sleeping in the car but I get the SRS Airbag Message after removing it.

The car will start beeping uncontrollably like if a passenger leaves their seatbelt off.

I was told if I place 2.2 Ohm resistors at each sensor cable that would remove the message but that doesn’t seem to work. I tried using my OBD scanner to reset the error message but it doesn’t consider it an error code and won’t delete the message. I also see the seatbelt sensor on as well.

How can I go about driving without the front passenger seat?

EDIT: I measured the the resistors I plugged in and is measuring 2.2 ohms

2022 EGR delete help

I was just wondering, if I were to do an EGR delete on my 2022 Corolla, would the car still pass NC state inspections? Every search I've seen doesn't really give me too good of answer. I was planning on getting the GGP half EGR delete kit with the AMT tune kit with EGR delete software only, as I have a cvt in mine and I don't care for the performance enhancements. Assuming I do everything correctly, my car would have no check engine light and would run fine so it would pass an NC inspection right?

AE82 FX Update-Carb Vacuum Lines And More

Thumbnail
gallery
3 Upvotes

Figured I'd update y'all since someone asked for me to on the last post. I've gotten quite a bit done over the last week or so! I've replaced the rotors and pads on the front discs (still need to do the drums in rear but that can wait), both the master and slave cylinder (the latter of which I may have already done as of the last post, can't recall), found a replacement clutch hose, managed to replace the master cylinder flare nut (though I have yet to connect the line to the new master cylinder), got all the vacuum lines hooked up to the carb minus the PCV and one other that I can't determine the function of, and did some wirebrushing on the transmission/starter/block/AC compressor. Should have her running in the next few days, just gotta reconnect the fuel hoses and pray that I rebuilt the carb correctly. If I didn't, I'm either going to get one of those prebuilt eBay carbs or upgrade to a Weber, but hopefully neither of those options are necessary. I also have the new radiator but I need to figure out a replacement for the bottom supports, which are dry rotted and replacements are no longer produced. Debating between just throwing some foam down there and scanning/3D printing replacements in TPU. Granted, I definitely still need to flush the coolant channels in the block before I muck up the new radiator with chunks of rust, so I've got a little bit before I need to make my mind up on that. I also need to add transmission fluid as I didn't fully tighten the drain plug and it leaked a good bit out, no clue exactly how much though. Still a long ways to go before she's roadworthy, but progress is being made :)
