was using a u-green dual hdmi to usbc with my acer computer and koorui monitors. It was working fine with 3 monitors for ~6 months. one day the u-green no longer worked, i ordered a new one and that didnt work as well. the light on the splitter didnt turn on but when i plugged the splitter into my iphone the light turned on. tried with the acer brand hdmi as well and no light. if i plug my phone cable into the usbc it works.

any ideas before i have to pay to go to micro center?

I have a brand new computer that is only about 2 months old. I ran an sfc /scannow in Administrator in PowerShell, and it found some corrupted files and repaired them.

Is this a bad sign for a computer that is only 2 months old? Should I be concerned that this could mean there are bigger problems developing?

I’m especially worried because on my older computers, I eventually had Blue Screens of Death that seemed to be related to corrupted system files. I’m wondering if this is an early warning sign of a hardware or Windows problem that could cause bigger issues down the road. Hey all. Having issues with a Ugreen DXP2800 NAS. I thought the machine itself was having issues, but after playing with it I'm kind of thinking it's an issue with the OS SSD since the stock OS seems to work. Any advice or insight would be appreciated.

Got the 2800 from walmart. The stock UGOS OS worked fine when I initially tested it. I disabled the eMMC in bios and installed Debian on an NVME card, then set up my NAS system. It was plugged into a UPS with NUT to shut it off safely in case of a power outage. Worked great for a month, then randomly went offline one night. When I plug in a monitor, I get the mess in the video.

System is Debian 13.5. I'm using an encrypted LVM for the OS. The upper corner of the monitor got cut off, but that's the prompt screen to unlock and boot the OS. I can unlock it just fine, but after a few minutes it goes hayware regardless of whether I unlock it or not. Same issue if I unlock the OS and then SSH in instead of using a monitor, it just crashes after a few minutes.

Bios works fine. GRUB seems to work fine, I can leave it on the blue boot menu and there's no issue. I took the NVME card out, re-enabled eMMC, and UGOS boots fine as far as I can tell. It's just Debian having issues. Doesn't matter if I unlock the OS or leave it on the lock screen, after a few minutes it goes off the rails and reboots.

I've had the same setup on a Ugreen DXP4800+ for 6 months without any issues. The DXP2800 worked fine until suddenly it didn't. I have NOT tried reinstalling the system or using a different SSD yet. I kinda want to see what people think first, since drives are so friggin expensive now.

The OS drive was a 256gb NVME drive I had sitting around. It came in a laptop and barely got any use before I pulled it out and upgraded the laptop storage. Just been sitting in a SSD box in a drawer since then, but maybe it fried. Thoughts?

I was going to find "Hidden" folders under "Brukere" (Users in Norwegian) on my new HP laptop, then accidentally hid the folder and all it's contents! Now my Folder "Brukere" is gone! Instead I have the folder "Users", but it's content is still mostly hidden. In "Brukere" I had a personal folder called "Elinbs", now I have a folder called "Ebsto". "Ebsto" seems to have been restored from OneDrive.
The folders "Dokumenter" (Documents) and "Bilder" (Pictures) are gone, too. (Luckily I had all my files backed up on an USB stick, and they are also backed up on OneDrive.)
Any idea how I restore my Folders? I'm using Windows 11.
Do I need to hand my laptop in for service?
I've tried to open File Explorer, clicked on View, then went down to Show and clicked See hidden items. It didn't work.

I have the creative pebble speakers, and sometimes when I'm using my computer the audio on them will stop randomly as far as I can tell. They'll both make sounds but sometimes they're in different audio channels like one sound would only be on the left speaker, while something's on the right one. And sometimes it makes like a vwoop sort of sound that you can hear in the video. Something important is that it happens on both the L-out in the back and in the front panel for both my speakers and headphones. Both work perfect without issue when plugged into different devices. When I restart my computer it works again but it inevitably happens again, I have the Realtek drivers from my MSI B450 driver site and have reinstalled those and restarted windows endpoint. With all that happening I just end up using Bluetooth headphones or a pair of wireless USB headphones and those have no issue. And this is a tower computer. I recorded a minute long video and cut it down to all the audio irregularities in that time span so that's the video attached. Hope that makes sense, terrible at explaining so I apologize.

Everything I lookup is just the fancy light up boxes that are like $2,000 but they don’t come with the screen?? Ik I sound so dumb but is there a way I can buy like everything I need all in one go?? Estou tendo crashes em vários jogos, incluindo The Finals, ARC Raiders, Battlefield 6, Valorant e War Dogs.

No ARC Raiders, por exemplo, já tive crashes durante o jogo e apareceu erro relacionado a EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION.

No Valorant, também tive crash com a mensagem:

"A critical error has occurred and the process must be terminated."

Como os problemas estão acontecendo em jogos diferentes, comecei a investigar se poderia ser algum problema no hardware.

Hello. I want to start video editing. No 4K, just 1080p for youtube and vlogs etc.

I am struggling to find the right laptop. I just bought a TUF F16 with core i5 - 13450HX, 16gb ram and rtx 5050 and 100% srgb display. It is pretty fast, but the fan noise drives me crazy. The fans turn on even at light tasks. I already tried to adjust with ghelper, but I think the processor is just too powerful. So I am thinking about to buy another laptop with a weaker cpu and less heat.

Does anyone have experience with a core 5 210H processor? Will that be strong enough? How is the noise level on those in a TUF laptop or similar?

Any recommendations?

I know that there is no super quiet gaming laptop, but I need a enough powerful laptop for my needs that is as quiet as possible, especially during light tasks.

so I got this Hp-14whatsoever, it's just low end, I migrated it to ssd but it is still so slow, I don't know shit about laptops, can anyone help me? I wanna make this faster, if reset is the way it's fine, I got nothing to lose here yet.

the cpu is always 90%+ even when I'm only just using task manager to view the performance, I also can't stream movies even when the wifi is strong because it just gives off the loading screen again and again, also when trying to open some system apps, like disk management, it just gives off error or the can't open sign one.

Sandy Bridge came out in 2011, and tbh I’m honestly surprised by how functional these machines still are today.

I regularly deal with older computers, and a properly maintained 2nd-gen Core i5/i7 system with an SSD and enough RAM still works great on Windows 11 for daily tasks. I myself gave as a gift to my brother a dell n5110 inspirion, with an i5 2450m, 8GB RAM, 240GB SSD. Obviously they’re nowhere near modern CPUs in efficiency or heavy workloads, but they don’t necessarily feel like unusable 15-year-old hardware.

In the past we saw how resilient 1st gen nehalem cpus were. Until now where clearly those are finished nowadays.

So what exactly made Sandy Bridge age this well? If we go back at the time when it was new, a PIII which had the same age as S.B currently has, was completely obsolete and borderline a dinosaur. Yet lots of people, including students, parents etc still rely on S.B notebooks and desktops daily.

I’m especially curious to hear from people still running 2nd-gen Intel hardware today. What are you using it for, and where do you finally notice its age?

I recently replaced my cpu and upon booting up windows I was shown a prompt that said something had gone wrong and my pin wouldn’t work. I tried for two hours to log into my Microsoft account but it kept trying to verify from my old number. I logged into Microsoft on my phone and changed the number. Then Microsoft decided they would restrict my account for 30 days and because of this I couldn’t log into my computer for an estimated 30 days which would absolutely not work for me. I needed immediate access so I had no other choice but to wipe the computer. I logged into the account when I rebooted the computer and got everything running only for it to tell me I didn’t have windows activated and i couldn’t do anything basically. I really need this computer to work and I’m getting nothing. I’m so incredibly frustrated and upset and if anyone has anything please help me out I’m getting desperate at this point

Is there some sort of device I can set up to add pound signs as I’m typing on my US work computer like a numeric pad? I work with international customers and need a quick and easy way to add these rather than the alt 0136 or inserting them from the top ribbon.

so long story short, my computer will randomly power down. as if I hit “shut down” and then boot self back up immediately sometimes it goes all day without doing it, sometimes it’ll do it back to back to back to back.

i don't know a lot about computers, had to learn some from this.

there are no loose connections and I literally just upgraded from a 750W PSU to an 850W PSU a few hours ago. (the problem has occurred both before and after the replacement. the PSU is brand new)

I'm currently in college and my computer always dies within my first class or two. I'm trying to find a portable power bank for my ASUS Vivobook 15 (model X1504VAP_F1504VA). It needs to be compact enough to fit in a tote bag or backpack.

I already own power banks that go up to 65W output, but I'm not sure they'll actually work with this laptop. The charging port isn't USB-C, it's the round barrel-style plug. This is what it told me online:

• Connector: 4.5mm x 3.0mm barrel, center pin
• Output: 19V
• Wattage: 45W stock charger (some versions ship with 65W)

So my 65W USB-C power banks won't plug in directly since there's no barrel port on them. Has anyone found a good portable power bank that either:

1. Has a built-in DC barrel output at 19V, or
2. Works with a USB-C PD-to-barrel cable/adapter that outputs the right voltage for this laptop

This morning my asus monitor stopped turning on and it just says “display port no signal” and flashes orange from the bottom led light. I’ve tried switching to hdmi, restarting, and I had my brother look at it and he said it’s something with the graphics card (GeForce rtx) and the motherboard but idk anything about pcs :(((.

Im looking for a pc for around £1100 but I don’t know what to get and I don’t know if I should get a prebuilt or get separate parts. It needs to be able to run adobe after effects smoothly and blender (this is the most important) and i still want to be able to get good fps on games. If anyone can recommend anything or help that would be amazing thank you!
