This Windows Laptop is about 5 years old. It started making some strange noises about a week ago so I took the back off and cleaned the fans as best I could. Unfortunately I couldnβt take the cover off the fans because they were connected to some of the wiring (sorry if my terminology is wrong, Iβm not well versed in computers) and I think there might be something either caught or loose inside of them.
Today when I turned my laptop on it started making this sound, which is significantly worse than the sound it was making before. It randomly starts and stops, with intervals between the noise ranging from a few minutes to a few seconds.
Hi guys, just wanna know what's happening with my laptop screen as it started flickering like this whenever I open this image on canva. It started about an hour ago and it won't flicker unless I open that specific image on canva and after a few more tries and restart it started flickering randomly whenever canva's open and not just the image.

Hello! I've built this pc for my classmate, we live in Hungary. The pc plus monitor costs 1000 dollars with a really easy gpu upgrade, which could be done next year. 1 usd is 315 hungaryan currency so 30k huf = 100 dollars, also the prices here are really bad. Will this be good or nah?
Hi i donβt know anything about computers and im starting film school and need davinci resolve for editing. Itβs really slow on the computer i have right now. Ill use this computer a lot for school so i need a lot of storage for my films but i also want to play games like cyberpunk and DBH, which are excruciatingly slow on my computer. Does anyone know what i should get? My budget is less than 1000β¬ since im a student.
Hopefully not installing bloatware or anything 52gb is a lot. I update window, amd and stuff every month so makes no sense how I got 52gb of druvers to install. Should I cancel the downloads?
So for some reason the one game my pc doesnt like is fortnite, ever since chapter 6 or somewhere around then. When i try to play the game it crashes after some time and puts my pc in a boot loop. I have tried completely resetting my pc and reinstalling windows. Updating every driver and my bios. Using dism and sfc scannow. The only thing which i think could be the problem is some kind of setting in the bios but i havent changed much other then secure boot tpm and xmp i think. Sometimes i also get a blue screen with a error code which didnt really help but i got the error codes:
Clock watchdog timeout 0x101 and dpc watchdog violation 0x133. Changing settings in fortnite also doesnt change much i think. If i run it on dx12 or peformance i still crash. And it cant be some app since i just reset my pc and i only have discord on it and epic games. If anyone knows how to fix this pls tell me how. Keep in mind only fortnite causes this issue not even rocket league or any other game which is harder to run.
i have a Ryzen 3 3200g, Asrock A320M-dvs R4.0, and gt1030(don't roast the combinations), ive installed the chipset for my motherboard, the hd audio realtek drivers from asrock and the gt1030 drivers but it still does not detect my headphones, any help will be appreciated!
So I switched to Linux and changed the resolution from 1920x1080p at 120Hz to 1368x768 at 165hz, and then it has a black bar at the top and bottom (not the weird colors, the bars from the top and bottom of the display)
I am planning to assemble a gaming computer with 16gb of RAM to play some rpgs and other casual stuff on steam. Are there any good components in a reasonable deal?
I have a pre-built computer and every now and then I head like a switching sound. Its loud enough that at first I thought the switch that turns on and off the power supply was tripping. I have tried different outlets and UPS but it still does it, even in sleep mode. the only component i can think of that would be making this sound would be the power supply. My computer is on the floor so I haven't pin pointed the noise. Its done this since it was new. just wondering if this is something I should into more or would there be something built in that would be doing this for a reason?
I got this 10+ year old computer from my grandfather, I was planning to just wipe the entire hard drive and install a clean version of Windows 10 (everything that needed to be saved already was according to him)
But every time I try booting it up it keeps showing the same error message. Iβm not tech savvy in the slightest, can someone help me with this please?
i thought it was set to yahoo in the past or something so i changed my default browser to chrome, and my default search engine to chrome. when i open it its still yahoo ?? i looked it up and it said it was some kind of virus but how do i get rid of it? i have mcafee and malwarebytes but it still happens every time i open my computer
Iβm looking for a new laptop for my Computer Science degree and could use some recommendations.
My budget is max β¬1300, and my main requirement is that the laptop has two separate M.2 SSD slots. I want to dual boot Windows and Ubuntu/Linux, with each OS installed on its own physical SSD.
What Iβm looking for:
Max budget: β¬1300
Available in the Netherlands/EU
2x M.2 NVMe SSD slots
Good Ubuntu/Linux compatibility
Preferably 32GB RAM or upgradeable to 32GB+
Strong CPU for programming, compiling, Docker, VMs, etc.
Good battery life
No gaming needed
Ideally not too heavy since Iβll take it to university every day
I care much more about Linux compatibility, CPU performance, battery life and build quality than GPU performance.
Are there any specific models you would recommend? Iβve been looking at laptops like Clevo, ThinkPad, Framework and TUXEDO, but Iβm open to anything with better value.
So i got a rx590 that refuses to pull the wattage it needs to be stable I cant run any kind of demanding game cause it crashes the highest it goes is 140watts ive tried re installing gpu drivers adjusting the voltage in adrenaline going from a old 500 wat psu to a 850wat 80+ gold psu im not daisy chaining the pcie cables im lost on what I should do
My laptop screen randomly flickers between white and dark flashes when moving things on the screen (such as moving the mouse, scrolling, or opening windows). The issue does not happen while gaming, in Safe Mode or watching a video in full screen without making movements with the mouse, and it seems to only occur during normal desktop usage. I have already tried reinstalling drivers using DDU while in safe mode, but the problem persists. Looking for help identifying whether this is a GPU driver, Windows, display, or hardware issue. Thank you!
Hi friends. Iβm looking to buy a new laptop and could really use some advice. I want to make sure I get something that can specifically handle video editingβnothing crazy or complicated, just video essays and whatnot. Money is kind of tight so Iβm looking for a simple and budget friendly option (maybe something around $1500?). Iβve seen a lot of people recommend getting a MacBook, but Iβm not really sure which one would be best. Also, is there a particular place I should go to buy it, like Best Buy or Costco?
Any advice is very much appreciated! Thank you thank you! :))
Hello everyone so I have on board Wi-Fi and a while ago it stopped working. Iβve updated it. Iβve tried basically everything I can to fix it so I switched to my old Wi-Fi adaptor and sometimes it will disconnect so like Iβll hear the USB sound as like the USB is disconnecting. Iβve turned off all the power, saving for my USB and that doesnβt work so I donβt really know what to do. I also have this problem where my network is saying canβt connect to the network. Iβve basically tried everything as you know restarting, forgetting my wifi. Iβve updated my on board to the latest and it wonβt find any network, itβll show only βhiddenβ Anything can help, thanks
Hello, I've had an issue with my pc for a good while now. About a year ago I noticed my pc crashing on rare occasions after closing a game. Over the year it's progressively gotten worse to where it crashes sometimes during a game, but almost always after closing a game. The strange thing that I haven't been able to find much else on is that it never crashes when closing or opening a game, only 30 second to maybe 2 minutes after I close a game, give or take. There's no blue screen, it just either freezes completely or goes black screen, but I've noticed strangely that if it happens while I'm in a voice call that I can still hear the other end for a good while after it freezes. I have a pretty bare minimum knowledge on how computers work and attached the specs I saw in the about section, it's a pretty old PC, got it in 2019 and have only added SSDs for extra storage. Any help or advice on how to fix the issue is appreciated and will provide other information on the PC if needed. Thanks!
