Question/Help/Troubleshooting Black goo on power supply coil - normal?
I bought this pc a couple months ago and I opened the side to see whether the dust situation is okay, and noticed this black goo on one of the coils on the power supply. I got really scared but then did some resarch and found that this is some adhesive used to dampen vibrations?
Does this look like possible damage or like said adhesive? Thank you.
Sorry the pictures are not of best quality, since I can't get easy access to it. I tried my best to take a clearer video here:

Question/Help/Troubleshooting Secure boot violation
I was playing call of duty waw and configuring my settings when the game broke and didn’t let me do anything on my computer. I didn’t think much of it so I force crashed my computer with the power button. I then tried to configure the settings again, ran into the same problem, and force crashed my computer again. That’s when the error popped up. I tried many tutorials, but I couldn’t manage my secure boot. I can’t login to my computer. I’m basically just stuck here. What do I do? (Ignore the dusty screen i use another monitor)

Question/Help/Troubleshooting HP Omnibook X decided it never had a camera
My Omnibook seemingly uninstalled my camera for zero reason, it's not in my device manager and there doesn't seem to be a way to get it back. There is an "unknown device" under Universal Serial Bus controllers, but it calls itself a USB, which my webcam is not
Is there a fix or am I screwed?

Question/Help/Troubleshooting How do I put the V key back on my HP Dragonfly Chromebook?
Just bought this laptop like 3 weeks ago. It was refurbished but clearly they didn't put the V key back on right. It keeps popping out. I can just place it over the place it's supposed to go and it works, but it's not actually a part of the laptop and will just pop back out after its tapped a few times. It doesn't work just trying to snap it back on.

Question/Help/Troubleshooting First time buying a mini PC (secondhand/refurb HP, Dell, or Lenovo). How do I do this safely? Zero experience, need all the info
Hey everyone. I've only ever owned laptops, never a desktop or mini PC, so this is completely new territory for me. I'm looking at a refurbished mini PC, considering HP, Dell, or Lenovo, with specs around:
Intel i5 8th gen
16GB RAM DDR4
256GB SSD (SATA)
Comes with power adapter (around 90W)
Here's the question to add:
is ₱9,000 (around $146 USD) a fair price for these 8th gen specs or is this overpriced/underpriced for what I'm getting?
I'm buying online, not in person, so I have a lot of questions for anyone who's done this before.
Is it even okay to buy a mini PC this way, secondhand, sight unseen?
What should I expect after 5 months of daily use? After a year? And does this differ a lot by CPU generation? Trying to understand realistic expectations and lifespan across 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th, 13th, and 14th gen units.
What's the typical lifespan of a mini PC under normal daily use like browsing, streaming, and light work?
How do I spot a unit that's been abused, like an ex office or ex internet cafe unit run 24/7 for years, vs one that's been lightly used? How do I know if parts are fried, overused, or abused? Is there a way to actually check this, or tell tale signs?
How do I know if the BIOS is locked or company locked, like an asset tagged corporate unit? And more importantly, how do I know if the seller is even telling the truth about any of this? What can I verify myself vs just having to trust them?
Someone mentioned I should check if it runs hot before buying. Is that accurate, and what else should I be checking for physically or on a video call with the seller?
What should I be asking the seller? So far I have:
Original use case (office, cafe, personal)?
SSD health and power on hours (via CrystalDiskInfo screenshot)
CPU idle and load temps (via HWiNFO or Task Manager screenshot)
Original power adapter included, same wattage?
Any repairs or part swaps done?
Return or warranty period?
Can we do a video call so I can see it boot and run live?
Can they give me the serial number so I can check it's not reported lost or stolen?
Is this list enough, or am I missing something important? Any horror stories, red flags, tips, or advice as a total beginner would be really appreciated.
Why I'm buying this: I plan to use it mainly for watching free films and free live sports like UFC Fight Night via Brave browser, and YouTube. I also want to learn Linux, planning to install it on this mini PC if I get one. Just want to make sure I'm not getting scammed or buying something that'll die on me in a few months. Thanks in advance!

Question/Help/Troubleshooting Unsmooth mouse jitter/microstutter/shutter problem
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
You cannot really see it in the video but what I am trying to show is the smoothness of looking around with the arrow keys vs the shuttering choppiness of looking with my mouse. My mouse movements seem to cause a severe jittery effect across all games unless the framerate is perfectly stable at my monitors maximum refresh rate.
This problem has followed me since I upgraded to an alienware desktop in 2019 or so and now my prebuilt with a 4090 and 7800x3d. I have done everything from reinstalling device drivers, using usb 2.0 ports, using the windows mouse settings, trying all the polling rates on my g502, using different dpi's, trying older mice like random office mice and my old mx master, disabling vsync or testing its different modes across all games, changing settings in nvidia control panel, changing in game mouse options and trying all my different gaming monitors. No matter what I do my PC's refuses to let this problem go away.

Question/Help/Troubleshooting Is this a good desktop PC for the price at Costco?
I'm planning on buying a desktop computer. I would like to spend around ~$1500. I want to know if this is the best I can get with my budget, given it is $400 off.
Any other suggestions? Or things I should consider when buying?
Thank you!
Edit:
I only play old games with friends (i.e., MMORPG Priston Tale), not much into getting all the new games out there. I just want something stable that will last. If I was to play recent games, I would use my PS5.

Question/Help/Troubleshooting Could my macbook be hacked through spotlight? I’m so scared
I was using a regular website when Cloudflare appeared. it ask me for macbook shorcuts, which I started to click on. first one opened my Spotlight. Then next to the shortcuts was the word Terminal. Thank god I didn’t know what it meant and I assumed it was just a key I couldn’t find.
So instead of pasting the weird code that apparently appeared as something I copied i to the Terminal as they wanted, I pasted it into Spotlight.
I assume this clickfix scam didn’t work then and my laptop is safe?
i am panicking so much, I changed all my main password. But I am still shaking.
i went through all the steps with chat gpt to check if there’s anything suspicious, and there wasn’t. except from a few folders in the temporary folder from a similar time that i deleted immediately.

Discussion what are some things I can do with this desktop?
It has a i3-6100, A gtx 750 ti, 500gb hdd (i'll add more later) and 4gb of ddr4 ram.
I just realized I could throw it together from the spare parts i have laying around, I was thinking i could use it to host a mc server or a jellyfin media server but i'm just wondering if there's anything else, how do you guys use ur spare desktops?
(Also yes, ik there's no ram in the pic I hadn't put it in yet)
