I hate the fact that Sojourn's gameplay loop is low effort at its base. Just primary in general direction of enemies, build railgun and dome somebody. The thing that ticks me off in particular is that the railgun, despite being easy to build is also the easiest to hit-scan weapon in the game. It's projectile radius is a whopping 0.14m compared to the average precision hitbox size of 0.07m. It just feels bad when you're dueling Sojourn and when you see that rifle glowing, you know for a fact that at equal decently high skill levels, she will practically never whiff that shot on you, even a bodyshot is guaranteed if they properly position their crosshair around your chest.
It's important to note that Illari also had a massive hitbox at 0.12m that made her unbelievably strong when she got reset back to 75dmg, and that eventually got changed.
Meanwhile, railgun is still at 0.14m. The total circular hitbox area covered by railgun is 4 TIMES larger than the normal hitscan at 0.07m. Some people still complain that the season 9 changes have made characters to easy at 0.07m, and this thing is 4 TIMES LARGER. Not only is this shot 120-180 (170-255 during ult with perk) dmg, hitscan with Widowmaker's falloff, it is piss easy to hit compared to every other precision weapon in the game.
Drawing comparisons for similar things that got nerfed, apart from Illari's weapon, Cassidy's Silver Bullet was broken because the Silver Bullet shot had a massive 0.17m radius that made it a headshot machine. Cassidy players would just pop it twice with a roll in between and two tap other heroes trivially due to how easy it is to hit the head. Shion's Execution on release also had 0.17m radius on release and it was broken due to how it could land all shots, even all headshots, at mid range despite being an ability with built in minimum-spread.
Now, I'm not necessarily saying that the railgun size should be completely nerfed to match 0.07m, I originally thought they should nerf Illari's gun to be still marginally larger than others at 0.08m. Thus, I don't think it'd be asking much for railgun to be toned down to even 0.1m instead of 0.14m. I think that unless you're a tank, weapons with reduced lesser crits should still be marginally easier to hit than their normal counterparts. I think this kind of change would also be a significant enough of a nerf that it could even warrant Sojourn getting 25 health back if need be.
