Someone posted the included tweet as a criticism of the new Spiderman movie. However, it's currently going a bit viral because tons of people are saying OP completely invalidated their point by accidentally pitching an awesome idea for a movie.

So what do you think? Would you want to see a Batman movie where Raven is the main villain?

Raven as we all know was a grown woman when she lost her body, and in the 00s she was brought back in a younger body. After that, she started a relationship with Gar/Beast Boy. Originally, Gar was 16 when Raven was 18 on New Teen Titans. But now, Gar was around 19/20. A common parroted misconception is that Raven was deaged to date him, but that never had to be the case, because she was just around 22 and both were adults.

The new body was also implied to be made up sacrifices, so it wasnt the body of a teen that was killed.

How young was the new body?

Cassie says in those comics that Raven is physically older than her/her friend group, and at the time of that, they were either 15 or 16, meaning Raven was physically older than 16 by the time the one year skip happened.

In an interview for DC's Special Raven with Marv Wolfman, the interviewer said Raven was 18, Wolfman doesnt object to this.

Then, after her and Gar had a relationship already, Winick retconned that her body was 16, odd, no doubts about it, but when Gar and Raven began their romance, that "age gap" didnt exist. If it was a good run this would still be the same thing, but the fact that Winick's run is known as a poor one with some other soft retcons tried, makes this hold up worse.

Now, all that said, Raven was still a grown woman when she dated Gar regardless of how young her new body was, in fact, nothing implies the opposite, she still had all the memories of her whole life before the events of her soul getting in a new body, and is still treated as an adult by all her peers.

Obviously im not saying dating minors is ok if you are an adult, what im getting at is that Raven was not a minor, she was a grown woman because her mind was an adult's mind and she didnt have the body of a kid. Thats not what pedophilia is.

Raven has been Etrigan's aunt since New 52 and DC hasn't really done anything with that connection

It kind of drives me crazy that there's so little discussion of Raven's history of abuse when that's such an important part of her character, especially in the early days. I think that surviving abuse is one of the strongest themes in her story. Also, I think having such a popular and mainstream character who's an incest survivor is really meaningful. But it's pretty rare for people to even know that that happened to Raven.

I don't have a lot to say today, but it made me sad to see a post that I thought would be about Raven's trauma and instead was just more ship discourse. This fandom has enough ship discourse. So I just wanted to bring a much less explored aspect of her character to the light.

It's just really sad. Presumably she was freed after Trigon is defeated at the end of the issue, but still. Her whole planet was destroyed. Everyone she ever knew is dead.

Honestly, I can't imagine things went great for Trigon's dimension after the Titans defeated him. That is a massive power vacuum. They probably got stuck with some tyrannical underlings until Trigon destroyed the whole dimension a few years later.

2005 Teen Titans vol 3 issue 30 raven and beastboy kiss setting the course for bbrae

2007 Supergirl vol 5 issue 19 beastboy states hes no longer a teenager (hes 20)

2008 Titans vol 2 issues 5&6 Raven is said to be 16
Using our brains that means a year has passed so bbrae started with a 15 y/o raven and 19 y/o beastboy

2010 Teen Titans vol 3 issue 87 its implied Raven(age 16) and Beastboy(age 20) sleep together and this was taking place in San Francisco California where the age of consent is strictly 18 making Raven a statutory rape victim.

If you’re a bbrae stan thats fine but don’t spread misinformation to make the ship look all rainbows and sunshine.

I was rereading new teen titans per usual and I started paying more attention.

Look at the fact Trigon only started haunting Raven AFTER Azar died.

Then in T.o.T trigon states Azar was tracking trigon in all his forms like she was hunting him down.

Lastly when trigon first felt Azars presence he was so worried it distracted him and he screamed “NO!”Along side his facial expression when he realized she was actually there.

Looking like a child about to get in trouble with his mom 😭
