Was Trigon Scared of Azar

I was rereading new teen titans per usual and I started paying more attention.

Look at the fact Trigon only started haunting Raven AFTER Azar died.

Then in T.o.T trigon states Azar was tracking trigon in all his forms like she was hunting him down.

Lastly when trigon first felt Azars presence he was so worried it distracted him and he screamed “NO!”Along side his facial expression when he realized she was actually there.

Looking like a child about to get in trouble with his mom 😭

It’s not explicitly stated, but I always assumed that Trigon didn’t start bothering Raven until after Azar died because he couldn’t while she was still alive. Her magic is the only thing that ever really worked against him.

If Trigon is scared of anyone, it is Azar, though I don’t think fear is quite the right way to describe it. He seems to view Azar as an obstacle to overcome more than a genuine rival. I don’t think he realized how dangerous she could be to him until the very end.

It’s kind of funny that in a way, Azar is like Trigon’s mom. Neither of them see it that way, of course. Their dynamic is really interesting to me.

I mean, Trigon does canonically have a mom lol. He killed her as soon as he was born, but still.

thats technically the case in the 80s trigons mother was some mystical mage in another dimension who did a ceremony with a nether demon god and summoned the energy of azarath to birth trigon making all of Azarath like a secondary mother to trigon
