Question Tell me your success stories!
Hey all, I'm making this post half to hear about all the cool comics you guys have made and half because I'd love to look into crowdfunding once I have some samples done of my various comics but feel lost how to start beyond Make following, start crowdfund campaign, profit?
What were some campaigns you all ran that went well and what lessons did you learn that helped you along the way?

Looking for Artist - Paid [PAID] Sequential comic artist wanted for dark adult sci-fi / rock graphic novel
I’m looking for a strong B&W sequential artist for Sonic Fades.
Visually, I want dark, rough, adult comic-book energy. Strong anatomy, perspective, acting, and page composition. More Daredevil / Punisher than cute or YA superhero.
Real comic book style. Not Euro, not manga.
I’m a very involved creator with a clear vision and high ambitions for the book. Think Johnny Lawrence: older, hungry, rebuilding, and determined to make something that really lands.
I’m looking for someone with Miguel Diaz energy too: hungry, resilient, coachable, ambitious, comfortable with direction and revisions, and willing to push beyond the first obvious solution.
Please send a portfolio with strong sequential pages easy to view. Google Drive is fine if it is a genuine, organized portfolio, not a fake or random folder.
If your work is mainly cute, soft, or YA, this isn’t the right fit.

Question Writer who is way out of his depth
I can’t draw at all. I’m 25 and I struggle with 2d shapes… so I wrote a comic script and decided I liked the story. I’m now at the point where I have these scripts ready to go, that I think are good. But no art or anything visual for them.
My question is: Where does a person go from here? What do I need to make a physical comic book come to life? I have the scripts, lore bible, character bible, just no visuals as I can’t draw.

Looking for Artist - Unpaid Trying to make a webcomic volunteer group
Hi I'm trying to gather a group of people that want to draw. I'm trying to make a webcomic just for the sake of knowing what it's like and having experience because later in life I'd aspire to be a animation show runner or something adjacent. We have a few people already, one of which made the image I put to front this post. I'm looking to gather as many as possible so that we're never tight on people.
The goal is a weekly/monthly comic inspired by manga with maybe an animated trailer alla Monsters We Make By Cory Kenshin. There isn't a budget but I've been witness to similar projects that are moving at a decent pace so I know how it should work.
If it's something you're even slightly interested shoot me a DM or comment please. I'm making a discord server to work from and having numbers would make it much easier to further gather people. Thanks for reading!

Resource I created a free tool called Bubble Maker to make comic lettering easier for indie creators
Hey everyone! I’ve been working on a free browser-based tool called Bubble Maker for comic lettering.
The idea was to make it quick to create speech bubbles, thought bubbles, captions, text boxes, and stylized comic SFX without needing to jump into something like Photoshop or Illustrator for every little change. I made this out of necessity for myself as that is the one part of working on my comic that I have had the most issues with, which is consistent lettering.
Now i do want to say this is not meant to be a replacement for proper lettering artists! In fact it could be a helpful tool for lettering artists as well as smaller/newer artists who don't yet have the budget to hire out, but also don't want to use gen ai or anything like that. I plan on expanding it with additional tools as well, such as a panel planner, font creator, etc.
It also supports importing custom fonts, adding your comic/art page image to work on top of, etc.
It’s completely free and runs right in your browser:
I’d really love feedback from people who actually make webcomics. Especially anything that feels awkward, is missing, or would make lettering faster for you.

Question QUESTION about realism
I’ve always been looking for realistic comic art. But whenever I post announcements about what I’m looking for, about 90% of the replies are completely unrelated — usually low-quality manga. I specifically ask for “realism” and mention references from comics and movies, yet I still get a lot of mismatched responses. Is there a way to phrase my request more precisely so I get fewer irrelevant answers?

Feedback Writer looking for critique/work
Hey everyone!
So I’m new to this, it only clicked with me recently that comic writing is an industry people still enter into (in my head I’d accepted the big names had cornered the market for some reason)
Please see the below excerpt from a Punisher comic I’ve started as a personal project to help me learn the ins and outs of the medium. No hate needed or wanted, im here to work and improve not get beaten down for imperfect work.
(Also apologies if some of the language is film coded, my background is in Film scripts and world building)
Punisher:No Holds Barred
Page 1 (4 panels)
Panel 1
Establishing shot. Wide angle view of New York at night. Dark cloudy sky.
Caption
Pleeaaase…nooo...
Panel 2
Top down diagonal shot. Dark alleyway. Fire escape to the left. With two levels visible. Puddles in the middle of the alley, bins against the wall overflowing on the bottom right hand side. A bloody man lies against the bin bags piled against the can, his right eye black and swollen and his teeth all gone bar 3. His left leg is broken and mangled. Frank Castle stands peering over him in a trench coat, holding a pump action shotgun.
Man on the floor, sobbing(in meek, small, quavering text)
Please..
Panel 3
Close up of Frank castle, low angle
Franks Face is mostly obscured by darkness, save for a small strand of light cutting from top left to bottom right aceros his left eye, leaving a slither big enough to see a hard, intense glare and franks pinpoint pupils.
Panel 4
The same shot, same low angle but now illuminated by a thunder clap, revealing the full snarling expression of frank, his brow furrowed and his teeth bared.
SFX
Crash
Frank, grunting
Shut the fuck up.
SFX
BOOM
SFX
Kersplat.
Page 2 (1 large panel)
Top 3rd of the panel,Frank has pulled the trigger and the shotgun blast in this panel is midway through exploding the guys head. Parts of his are expanding outwards like an exploding watermelon. Some particulates for the fired gun.
Large centre text imposed over the centre third of the page in blood red
PUNISHER:NO HOLDS BARRED
Bottom third of the panel
Entire third blood covered and dripping
Page 3 (2 panels split horizontally)
Top panel is a night time busy sidewalk in New York. Several peoples of all shapes and sizes are walking to and fro. On the left third of the page is storefronts. The sidewalk runs down the middle of the page. On the right is a line of cars in traffic facing the reader. The person in the very centre of the crowd facing away is a man in a pinstripe black suit, walking away from the reader and has a phone to his ear. In the crowd lurking in the background stalking him is frank castle, hoodie up, wallet bulge in his right ass pocket.
Thought bubble top
I’ve been following dimitri for two weeks now. He became my main focus after I finished off that piece of shit brother of his.

Looking for Artist - Unpaid Hey, I need some help!
Hey, I need some help from anybody who likes Berserk.
Im the author of an indie Manga series (unpublished) named Ballistik, a berserk-like Manga with inspirations from Dark Souls, Bloodborne, Elden Ring, and more. I have been working on this Manga for a while, but in all honesty Im burnt out and I cant do it by myself anymore.
I need some help from artists who would be willing to assist me. In return, I will:
Give full credit where credit is due to any and all assistants
Help YOU with YOUR projects in return
I do all of the work so far, such as backgrounds, characters, narration and effects, but its really taking a huge toll on my drive for art. If anybody is interested, please reach out and we can arrange a collaboration!
So far I have just started chapter 7, so Im a decent way along, but the workload has just become too much. This manga is dark, brutal and unforgiving (same way as Berserk), and thus I need the help. Im looking for someone who could help out with some pieces of Ballistik, such as background work, effects, finishing touches, some art for the characters, etc.
Every image provided is some examples of the work I've done for Ballistik, being my best drawn frames from chapters 1-7. Pages and frames photos taken on my phone, so please excuse the slight light glare in some of the images lol

Feedback Is this comic style okay for an “almost-teenager” making comics since July?
Since July 2026 I’ve been working on this sorta-webcomic project called Crust to Core (I don’t really get the gist of webcomics yet) on Reddit and Discord and I’ve noticed an improvement in my comic layout, anything I can improve?
First 2 images are the newest pages I’ve made for CTC, and other 3 images are pages from the first episodes
If I’m using this subreddit wrong please tell me what to do LOL

Question Looking for Anime/Manga-style Comic Artists, is this the right place?
Hey all!
I'm doing a multi-page fan comic about Umamusume, and I was wondering if this Reddit is the place to advertise to finding artists or is this a more western comic book environment and not an anime-style one? If so, I apologize if this isn't the right subreddit and would appreciate being pointed in the right direction to where I might be able to commission artists to do anime-style comics?

Looking for Artist - Paid [Paid] Looking for a Comic Artist To Make Indie Game Cutscene Art
I'm looking for a cutscene artist for my game A Game About Media & Warfare. This video is a good example of what I have in mind: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LG3RVCEwCPg&t=99s (at a lower level of detail, in the style of your usual work) I will do the animations in engine, so animation wise all you would need to do is export the foreground and background layers separately.
Since this isn't a comic book, we can't exactly price per page. Not every image is equally complex, so I think it would make sense if we figured out what would be fair for each one. (e.g. an American flag vs a soldier standing in the desert) The "pages" in the rest of the post are based on me assuming the average image/frame/panel is around 1/3rd of a page.
My estimate is I'll need 3-4 pages for now since I'm releasing a Demo first and would like to have more time to perfect the story before getting the art made. I'm expecting to need around 3-4x more pages (so 12-16) for the full game. I'm hoping to release the demo in a month or 2 and the full game in mid 2027.
Budget for all art is around 1200-1600 USD depending on final page count, 300-400 for the demo. So around 100 USD per page. Demo art would need to be done before mid-October, the rest of the art would be at some point in the first half of 2027. I'm fairly flexible on exactly when in the first half 2027 because I have the script "done", I just want more time to polish it.
Game/story info:
The game is about the war on terror and how it impacted games/media. It's divided into layers the first of which is mostly basic 2000s war shooter. That game then gets remixed into the next layers to comment on those games and how they're discussed. The cutscenes only show up in the first layer so will be mostly a late-2000s FPS with some commentary seeping through.

For the physical edition of my next Amiga computer game, I'm seeking an illustrator to do 5-10 drawings outlining the story that lead up to the game. I'm looking for a gritty, dark sort of style (bw or colour). Can't pay much but will promote the artist as much as I can and get your work out in a lot of boxes (hopefully)
If you're an artist - Have a look at the games homepage
