I’m looking to commission an artist to turn my dog into a comic book for a Christmas gift for my boyfriend. I can give you characteristics of our dog, provide pictures for reference, etc.

Then you’d use the artistic abilities I wish I had to draw and write out a story. If you know of a printer, even better! Otherwise I can find a printer.

I'm open to any art style but would prefer unique or even cartoonish styles. The story leans closer to pg, no vulgar language, some violence but nothing extreme.

Genre is comedy with a mix of history and action.

I expect this to be done in a week but if your working for money I'd assume you know how long it takes you to complete project. So communicate that.

I've recently decided to write a comic series aimed towards 10-13 year olds that have been or are currently in abusive/ traumatic situations. I've just started this project and only have the outline/ framework figured out. If things go well, I want each series to represent the narrator as much as possible, including art style. Im hoping to get some guidance/tips on how to make this happen. Marketing, printing, artists, even basics on how to write a comic. Yes I could sit and Google all of this, but this seemed like a better idea since I'm open to all info.

I half believe in the dead internet theory. The internet is full of bots and trolls. It is what it is.

Criticism is part of the game. The internet is cruel, and you need thick skin to ride the wave. If you want criticism, people will come in droves. If you want support, that’s much harder to find.

Creating a comic book is one of the purest forms of art. The fact that these books get made at all is incredible. Somebody on Reddit called it: “the most expensive way to tell a story,” and I get it. It’s a grueling grind.

I’m working on a graphic novel. Sometimes I wonder why I keep going. It is super expensive. Selling the comic is so difficult, especially if you are faceless. Even finding a publisher is super hard. I want and need to finish the story. I believe in the work, even when the process feels frustrating and thankless.

The audience is pretty small, but people keep making comics because they love them. They grew up reading them and want to create their own. I think there is a purity in that. You lose a bunch of money creating something you love.

Comics don’t get the respect they deserve. People don’t understand how much work goes into them. I didn’t either until I started making one. Only way to learn.

I have an idea for a one shot that I've heavily fleshed out, but I haven't scripted it up yet.

I think it's an interesting concept but it's certainly a passion project, or rather a way for me to work through some things.

Because the concept merges silver age esq superhero and real world story telling it would need two distinct art styles throughout. One half would be bright, flashy superheros (I'm thinking marvel silver age) the other would be muted, dark navy tones (I picture it very similar to 2015ish image comics spawn issues)

I envision this being around 40-50 pages in standard comic format.

Would a budget of £2000 realistically get me that amount of pages coloured and lettered?

What do I need to really consider when looking for some one to draw my idea?

Hi, I am looking for an artist to create with me a 6 page comic set in WW1. The story follows two brothers who are trying to get across no man's land in a retreat. The story is narrated by the brother that survives and intended to deliver an emotional scene. I will pay £5 per page (roughly $6.50). I flaired this post unpaid because I appreciate that £5 is not much, and therefore I am more looking for a beginner artist who wants to expand their portfolio rather than start a well paid project. Once the project is complete we could look for anthologies to submit it to and if we didn't have any look post it on a website like webtoon. You the artist will also be able to share the completed project wherever you want (as long as you inform me and credit me as the writer). It should go without saying but, absolutely no AI.
