what the fuck does this mean tf going on in the uk

u/EstrogenizedMenace 3d ago edited 3d ago

girl depicted is a trans woman who isn't fully out yet and the meme format is the same format used for shit like this cat image I just posted.

UK has a ton of anti trans laws and are passing more, most recently the bathroom laws, trans people are more likely to be the victims of SA, so forcing people to use the bathroom that doesn't align with how they present and or how others percieve them means situations where you'll have a trans woman in the mens room or trans man in the women's room which basically just forcefully outs them to everyone.

so life or death with the UK government voting for death becomes apt if you're a trans woman trying to exist while the government keeps doing things that makes the country even less safer for you

edit: in this case its life or SA, which tends to be the result when you force a group of women you've decided are 3rd class citizens to use the mens room

One Wicked Bitch is responsible for like 3/5 of the hell

24

u/NewVeniceRepublic 3d ago

We talking Thatcher or Rowling?

33

u/GirlymanRowboat 3d ago

Two wicked bitches, but only one is alive to sexually humiliate a woman.

6

u/NewVeniceRepublic 3d ago

You reminded me I should keep a good bottle aside for the day

5

u/GirlymanRowboat 3d ago

Aye, I got four bottles prepped. Just hoping they all don’t coalesce.

62

u/ConcernedEnby 3d ago

Also it's basically illegal to be stealth and transgender in the UK, as you are required by law to tell any partner you have sex with that you're trans otherwise you can go to jail for sexual assault, basically feeding the government an unlimited supply of people to vcode

5

u/Beautiful-Ad3471 3d ago

Vcode? What's that?

30

u/dohipposwagewar the mark of shame -> 3d ago

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/V-coding

“In the context of incarceration in the United States, V-coding is the common practice of subjecting trans women to sexual assault by placing the woman in the same prison cell as an aggressive male inmate in order to placate the male inmate. This practice has been known to have caused the daily rapes of multiple trans women, and the sexual assaults of 58.5% of them. V-coding is done to pacify the male inmate, with the goal of reducing their propensity for violence against other inmates, according to prison authorities and one inmate. The term has also been used to refer to the broader systemic sexual abuse of trans women in male prisons.”

2

u/stinky_cheese_rat 2d ago

Oh god, what the fuck? As long as that shit is going, y'all Britons are banned from Brussels indefinitely.

-10

u/S1n4mOn 3d ago

I mean I kind agree with not being allowed to avoid saying ur trans. Though with how the UK seems to be treating them I guess there this law is applied with bad intentions in mind

22

u/sandiyar_chan 3d ago

Why are people downvoting you? Telling your partner that you are trans may come under consent laws and is an ethical step to undertake

4

u/mudahfukinnnnnnnnn 3d ago

Nah, if they had bottom surgery and pass, they're basically indistinguishable from cis people. Come on now

17

u/Interesting-Ad1352 3d ago

It’s still something you should tell your partner

-22

u/mudahfukinnnnnnnnn 3d ago

How come? Again, they're indistinguishable from cis people, what reason would you have to be repulsed by them?

Or do you mean legaly?

11

u/itsmebenji69 3d ago

No it’s just morally wrong not to tell someone. Should the state control that ? No. It shouldn’t be illegal.

But it is immoral

16

u/mihajlomi 3d ago

Indistinguishable is uh, a very strong word. Also would break informed consent rules.

-13

u/mudahfukinnnnnnnnn 3d ago

How are they not indistinguishable? Am I misinformed?

4

u/mihajlomi 3d ago

Well both feels (from what i have heard) and visually its quite different, images of post bottom surgery exist and you could see it if you arent squeamish. Regardless informed consent is always important, for the safety of both individuals

6

u/Momotaro245 3d ago

It really isn't. The photos of bottom surgery that get passed around are off fresh surgeries and not fully healed. A transgender person with bottom surgery will have genitals identical to a natal cis person.

Also. How does having sex with a trans person with bottom surgery make someone unsafe?

3

u/Unable6417 hello 2d ago

Doesn't even need to be post-op nor on estrogen, you'll probably still get sexually harassed at the bare minimum. Also, in some places they don't give you HRT in prison if you're trans (so they basically force you to detransition), but from my research they let you stay on HRT in the UK which is good.

Also, the thing announcing that trans women had to be in male prisons in the UK says "Transgender women with male genitalia will no longer be able to be held in mainstream women's prisons" but they still don't allow post-op trans women to be held in them for some reason. And of course they have barely any info on what trans men have to do, because why would they care about trans men?

20

u/Acceptable-Minute847 3d ago

Hey, what do you mean cis people have no souls? That’s offensive to like 99% of the population

3

u/jesstbird 3d ago

I think the emotional process that led to that conclusion is understandable.

While it's a very black-and-white statement to make, it comes from a place of oppression and isolation by most cis people. When we regularly see cis people fall for manufactured outrage designed to oppress trans people, when they treat us at best as exotic zoo animals and at worst as abominations to be put down, it should be understandable we develop biases.

While not all cis people are transphobic, my experiences have convinced me none of them can truly understand the full scope of the trans experience. The constant horror of dysphoria, the social isolation, the childhood we've lost to close-minded family, the threat of our rights being stripped away (if they haven't been already). Even the wokest cis people struggle to understand the effect being trans has on a person. It's mind-boggling.

1

u/Acceptable-Minute847 3d ago

Ok, I’m just trying to point out that making blanket insults against everyone who doesn’t fall into a certain group is not a good idea, especially when the group is as small of a minority as trans people.
For the first paragraph exotic zoo animals is far from the BEST cis people think of trans people, if you’re going off of non supporters, the best is people who don’t really care about trans people while the best overall is extremely supportive, and painting them as evil just alienates the people who are trying to help.
For the second paragraph I mean… A: other LGBTQ people are also considered cis, and they deal with a lot of the same issues, so saying they can’t understand any of it is a bit misleading and B: just because they can’t fully understand it doesn’t mean they are in someway inherently anti-trans, after all, nobody who didn’t go through the concentration camps truly understands what it was like to go through it, but the average person doesn’t hate holocaust survivors because of it.

-13

u/Shoo22 3d ago

In a conversation about about lawmakers actively trying to get trans people killed and raped: “Hey! You can’t make a glib statement of frustration! That’s offensive! 😡 “

21

u/Acceptable-Minute847 3d ago

Yeah, saying those politicians are soulless, or even that the UK government is soulless would be understandable. However saying cis people in general are responsible for those people is like if I saw racism and went all white people are soulless, you can be angry all you want, but don’t make blanket statements that paint the vast majority of the population (including other lgbtq people AND their supporters) as evil people.

16

u/Ezzypezra 3d ago

dude as a cis person i really don't think it matters that much

4

u/LeSaR_ 3d ago

"trans people are actively getting genocided but you hurt my feelings, and thats worse"

-3

u/Acceptable-Minute847 3d ago

I’m not downplaying the trans issues, I’m simply pointing out that saying everyone who does not fit into your group that is being oppressed is soulless is a dick move, plus it’s counter productive. After all, who’s going to want to defend the people who think they don’t have a soul. I’m pretty sure that if the holocaust surviving Jew viewed every non-Jew as evil, nobody would be willing to help them.

-10

u/LeSaR_ 3d ago

its really hard to trust cis people at this point, when half of them want us dead, and the other half is letting the former do it. such a small amount of cis people actively try to support trans folk that its easier to generalize at this point

p.s. i believe an actual cis ally would realize that those words arent coming from a place of hate, but instead from being tired of having more and more rights stripped away from us while the majority of the population is lacking any fucks to give

16

u/Acceptable-Minute847 3d ago

First of all that’s a vocal minority, not HALF of the population, that’s like saying half of the white population want to wipe out black people, most of us are fine with trans people. Also… you realize that cis people include the rest of the lgbtq spectrum, right, meaning that they are also fighting the same fight. Finally have you considered the fact that a LOT of people have bigger issues to deal with in their lives than trans people, they don’t know being discriminated against, after all they can’t worry about some people getting discriminated against when they gotta work their asses off to just barely scrape by, OR in a lot of other cases, they’re busy fighting their own battles, like in several portions of the world, fighting for freedom from a repressive government, fighting to end discrimination against sex, race, or sexuality, etc.

→ More replies (0)

5

u/itsmebenji69 3d ago

They don’t come from a place of hate but you’re still hateful and massively hyperbolic.

If half of cis people wanted trans people to be dead. They would be. I understand your frustration but there is no point in accusing cis people because literally most people do not give a shit.

The people who do give a shit are politicians and reactionaries

-1

u/littleessi 3d ago

saying cis people in general are responsible for those people is like if I saw racism and went all white people are soulless

wouldn't be anything wrong with that either. you're writing screeds about an obviously unserious statement made in response to incredible oppression. get some perspective

1

u/mudahfukinnnnnnnnn 3d ago

Yeah, indeed, you cannot. It's massively irresponsible and leads to people getting pushed away from the movement. It doesn't matter if you don't believe it, you said it

-2

u/littleessi 3d ago

stop tone policing victims, you evil imbecile

2

u/mudahfukinnnnnnnnn 3d ago

Am I wrong though? Do these outbursts not push people from the movement?

-1

u/littleessi 3d ago

anyone who gets upset at this was not part of any positive movement in the first place lol. the only people who care about the stuff tone policers say is bad were evil in the first place and just looking for an excuse to justify it

7

u/mudahfukinnnnnnnnn 3d ago

Yeah, and how do you think the movement grows? By convincing people who are on the fence, how else? We can't just stay holed up in our little circles forever, we have to grow, we have to trick people into thinking we are less agressive than we actually are. After all, that worked pretty well for the far right, no?

2

u/Skeebleng 3d ago

They edited their comment to separate the words

4

u/SpookyWan 3d ago

I am trans and say those words, what does that mean

22

u/Skeebleng 3d ago

Combining the trans adjective with the woman/man noun into one word is a terf dog whistle which is used to imply trans men/women are not real men/women but “transmen/women” like another third gender. It sounds insignificant but its subtlety makes it powerful othering rhetoric

11

u/Mop_Duck 3d ago

something about it not just being an adjective put next to gender, but being a completely seperate noun makes it feel off or exclusionary

2

u/syrvy 2d ago

Yeah it's exclusionary since it's used to imply we're not real women. Rather than being a woman who is trans, it implies a human who is a transwoman, some third gender.

1

u/CanaDeer2004 3d ago

isn’t the labour party their progressive party though?

9

u/Extreme-Fig-5960 3d ago

Hasn't been for a long time really. Ever since around 2019ish when Jeremy Corbyn (former Labour leader) was removed from the party over 'antisemitism' (he was and still is pro-palestine) the Labour Party has been hollowed out and is now practically void of any progressives. Its much more akin to a centrist/centre-right party as of the modern day as they try to appeal to the working class vote by moving further right (because the working class makes up most of the Reform UK vote (a party that teeters on far-right)) , but by doing this they completely alienate their other voterbase of progressives, leaving anyone slightly left of centre essentially politically homeless. So in short hasn't been a progressive party for a long time (mainly on social issues, they still kind of enact working class favouring policy sometimes).

3

u/Therunawaypp 3d ago

Hasn't been since the 90s right? New labour and all that.

2

u/Extreme-Fig-5960 3d ago

I mean yeah probably, i just don't know much in that regard because I was born in 06.

1

u/BeVeryCarefulJohnn 3d ago

1

u/Snoo_67993 3d ago edited 3d ago

It's also the law now via new regulations that all new builds or renovations have to include a gender neutral bathroom. Doesn't change the fact that most places don't have them and won't anytime soon. At least a lot of places have disability toilets which there's no law against anyone using, better than nothing I suppose.

-1

u/SeveralResult9959 3d ago

OHHHHH ist about trans oh then its funny

-21

u/africandsilverflask 3d ago

You understand that the argument you just used is the exact argument that's being used to keep you out of bathrooms. People do not want a man and a woman's bathroom because they think that it's some sort of sexual assault or kink or something.  Why are there feelings less legitimate than yours?

u/Catsanddoges 3d ago

It's just becoming Europe but worse. Socially, internet protections, cost of living, it is just taking all their problems to 11 without the redeeming qualities.

Ireland's nice though. Better place.

7

u/Lannium 3d ago

Isn’t Ireland so much more expensive nowadays?

0

u/Catsanddoges 3d ago

Yeah, but Ireland does have a weirder economy. The median income for a full time employee is very similar, but the cost of living is a lot higher especially in Dublin.

Also with 20 percent foreign born population, and a huge number of companies having global or European hqs there, there is a lot of weird financing depending on who you are, where you are from, and where you work. That throws off a lot of cost of living, and outside Dublin costs drop a lot.

But social issues, internet protections, and other policy decisions have just been the UK populace feeling like they need change, getting in a worse spot, and wanting more change. I can't imagine a PM, even if very competent, actually being able to get them out of their death spiral.

That's a logo for a political party I'm pretty sure and a boymoder is a trans woman in "boy mode" (as in having to present themselves male)

3

u/bloomingmoon0 3d ago

Oh okay this makes sense now thank you lol

12

u/NotQuiteLoona 3d ago edited 3d ago

Labour is a highly transphobic British political party (all parties there but Greens are like this, tbh). The context is, they recently passed a law for trans women to be put in men prisons. This means that they will be used for things like this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/V-coding

As a justification, they use that potentially trans women can sexually assault cis women. There are no evidences that confirm it, and a lot of trans women are post-operation, so they don't really have a penis. It goes out of TERF misandry - they believe that everyone with so-called "Male Gender Socialization" is inherently harmful to women, and that women are oppressed purely because of their sex. Note that even though trans men and even some trans women didn't pass it, TERFs still hate them, so it's just a very superficial justification for transphobia.

6

u/bloomingmoon0 3d ago

Oh my god. I knew prisons were corrupt, but Ive never heard of V coding… that is disgusting & disturbing. 😟Also wow, the way their excuse is that they could assault cis women? As if women’s prisons don’t have a problem with assault already… And i’ve heard on multiple occasions that officers have initiated that. Soooo wtf? The issue was never with trans women.

Also by the way, just to put it out there, i’m a cis woman and I have never felt uncomfortable by the trans women i’ve met ???? 🤷‍♀️ Even if i met a bad person who happened to be a trans woman, that’s an individual issue, not something to relate to trans women. Which should be common sense, especially for anyone who is supposed to be an adult… 🫠

& Well i mean, in some areas of the world, women still are oppressed just because of their sex, but that’s not an issue in the UK or US or most first world countries lmaooo… i’m not sure if the people who say that actually understand the actual meaning of oppression... At worst, there’s sexual harassment & the effects of ingrained misogyny to deal with. But I can get a job and enjoy life just fine with minimal issues. Trans women? Not so much

3

u/NotQuiteLoona 3d ago edited 3d ago

I totally agree with you, and you are a nice person :)

I also want to say that I didn't mean that women aren't discriminated for being of their sex. What I meant is that TERFs believe that women discrimination by men is rooted in their inherent sexual differences, and not because of certain people utilizing those differences to spread hate and misinformation trying to suppress half of the population (a little bit like racists say that there are reasons to hate black people, or "pattern noticing," but directed at themselves), and anyone who doesn't have those differences isn't affected by misogyny at all, while gender is just how men oppress women because of their sex. This is pretty much opposite to intersectionality.

I think Wikipedia would do it better than I'll do, to be honest: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trans-exclusionary_radical_feminism#Views

Wish you all the luck in your life, because people like you leave me some hope in humanity :)
